I've been playing this deck a ton recently, and not only is it fun and interesting, it's also insanely good. It has a good control game, grind game, and it's opener is consistent and powerful. I really have hopes for this deck's success, we desperately need something new in the meta-even if it does sadly use VFD too.
How good is it against the meta handtraps, floodgates or staples? Like infinite impermance, effect veiler, nibiru, Dark ruler no more, kaijus, lightning storm, evenly matched, there can be only one, and/or summon limit?
@@chuck7699 Most handtraps it can play through with good hands. Nibiru might be a problem, but as long as you have the trap and maybe Zhizhi or Laolao to recover you'll be fine. Floodgates can be annoying, but the deck thankfully has built in disruption. Against a TCBOO you can easily shrug it off, but the others might cause problems. Overally I think it handles them fine.
@@ddb1014 I don't think you can post pictures here, so I'll just list everything: 3 of every Datascape except Princess (I run her at 2) 2 Psychic Tracker and 2 Psychic Wheeleders (staple extenders) 3 Foolish Burial Goods 3 Datascape Capital 3 Qinglong 2 Zhuque For techs I play: 1 Monster Reborn and 1 Emergency Teleport And for handtraps: 3 Ash Blossom 3 Imperm
lets not forget you can easily go into tzolkin for a free crystal wing. some rank six's you can go into involve photon strike bouncer, Beatrice, and utopia beyond.
I REALLY love how these cards are designed. Bit complicated, but I really love the archetype design. Can't wait to see how the player base exploits them lol
imagine being the guy that discovered for MBT (if it wasn't him) that you can turbo out old useless monsters like Flying Fortress SKY FIRE with just 1 Isolde
This deck will probably get at least one more spell and trap in future set and at least one more extra deck monster. Long long also stops the Synchron Combo in its tracks, since they have linkuriboh on the field who's dark and jet synchron is fire. There's also Cicada King and Totem Bird of all cards you can take advantage of.
I'm starting to notice a small pattern in konamis monster design. By that i mean that many new archetypes share the same effect between their main deck monsters and have another unique effect on top of that. For example tribrigades, draitrons and datascapes(which by the way are the 3 newest archetypes revealed) all follow this principal.
@@kingmuizz708 this pattern is most recognisable on these main 3 archetypes, but the are a few more like that. For example dragma, adamancipator, eldlich(for their spells and traps) and so on.
This deck at its purest form if released right now into the tcg would be able to handle the demand cause it seems to not fully rely on a heavy package of itself but full package of itself seems to just say “I see you do that well I just flood gated my board turn one” I also see level barrier coming back with this archetype due to you being able to control the levels a example would be it’s lvl 6 spams you drop them with level barrier on field drop their lvl to 3 then swing with a decent beat stick into a low defense monster if able
This has meta potential tier 2 at least and the fact that it's an xyz type of deck makes it so cool there's not a lot of pure xyz decks or well very good ones apart from galaxy eyes and such but this is good and I'm hoping it'll be meta
@@majordukem forgot they had that I was more focused on the xyz aspect cuz most decks are usually fusion synchro or link from wat I see on the meta I hope this can be just as good as these other meta decks
It's based on the number of Datascape Gates on the field when the card resolves, right? So doesn't the gate it searches count? If so, then you just just need to get 3 gates on the field before you play it. I think they need a bit more support which includes more gates. They only have 2 different gates, so I thing the effect would mean a lot more if there were more gates.
to get the 4th effect turn 1 you need to open 3 of the cont spell and at least 1 of the search card to place the trap face-up. tbh its not even that great of an effect when you do pull it off, and it will basically never come up turn 1 (unless maybe we get more Gate cont spells, but even then its unlikely).
I'm actually glad this isn't cyberse. Psychic and wyrm are two of my favorite types, but Konami seems to have stopped caring about them after their initial eras.
@@Ahicomerade All right, you and Kristopher are right. They're in better places than pyro or reptile. I suppose it's more accurate to say that I'm just tired of cyberse cards. The type got some much attention during Vrains and a bunch of other types got shafted.
@@dungeonmaster3464 its all good my dude. I don't mind more psychic or wyrms (I'd love to see Draco support in 2020). Oh yea Pyro and Reptiles are definitely hurting, though.
@@Ahicomerade True Draco or Draco Slayer? One of them doesn't need support, they just need to get their cards back from the banlist. The other is a pendulum archetypes that supported other pendulum archetypes.
Me: *sees a new Level 3 archetype with solid summoning reqs and synchro/xyz support* :D Also me: *Sees that some of its best setups involve setting up a double-sided on-field Macro Cosmos, realizing Konami did this on purpose to avoid the obvious Burning Abyss synergy/hybrid* D:
i recomend the foolish burial that sends spells, also i have been playtesting this deck it is pretty good, bigest flaw that i have seen is the fact that it needs non-targeting removal and more countinius spells because you send them to the gy quickly for the monster eff,but overall i think it can do really well
you don't need foolish burial goods if your whole deck is a foolish burial. Also, if you want to you can use datascape shell as a non-targeting non-destruction removal (that is kinda battle phase reliant, but so is evenly matched)
For foolish burial goods it is just extra cosistency because you need the gate that searches to be in the gy, and for that rank 3 that banishes you still take damge so if you are in a tight spot it wont that much useful because most monsters with targeting protection have high atk
Wait if LaoLao only special summons monster with different name than the one sent to the graveyard, what would happen if a spell or trap is sent??? Can any datascape monster be summoned??
Aside from the fact that you can make cards like calamities, the thing I like about this archetype so far is that it covers a wide array of effects but they seem fair. Someone will probably find a way to break this deck but I hope they don’t
Yes and it is wyrm so I can use it as a cost for tutu AND his effect special summons a draco when it leaves the field after it is tribute summoned so I summon him with heritage then go into a lv9 synchro so he gets metaltron for an easy calamity
@@itisaparadox6187 ok thanks a lot. Only one last question. Do his effect of summoning another True draco trigger also when he is used as xyz material? The deck has a lot of flexibility so you could also use him for Beatrice to send something with her effect.
This deck has so much variety in deck building and power plays. So many cards u can play in this deck I love it. Tho VFD be pretty broken. Also, Motivating captain can be pretty nice in this deck since it's a level 1 that can revive lady - RuiRui and make herald which is pretty cool ngl.
i want to pick up this deck when it drops here in US but....whenever a new deck comes out that i think wont see alot of meta play it always ends up the opposite which will make buying tge cards for this deck a little pricey. looks like a ton of fun to play and will require alot of thinking ahead to pilot this deck. i like it.
There should be like a futuristic military style deck like a bunch of soldiers as one monster and trap cards that are turrents that add attack damage to the monster or something like that idk I picture it in my head looking dope asf in the anime
Jia Jia’s effects are actually not lackluster in my eyes as by utilizing effect 1 you can also utilize effect two at the same time while not destroying yourself. Easy last resort.
Im definitely loving this archtype been spending alot of time playtesting to learn the ins and outs, one glaring weakness it has is that they have a hard time dealing with untargettable monsters outside of dark ruler no more they remind me of unchained in that respect.
Everything about the art screams Cyberse. I can understand the Psychic side, but Wyrms? Really? I feel like they forgot to tell the artist the archetype was not Cyberse
Eldlich soul datascape deck incomming. These datascape monster really reminds me of burning abyss.. All of em is special summonable from the hand and have a +1 effect.
having lvl 3s and lvl 6s and a bunch of gy effects is begging to be played with burning abyss there are some obscure boards you can do with the deck it's pretty awesome 2 dante 1 beatrice 1 cherubini rest are datascapes and 3 goyo warrior because i found a silly 1 card combo off of righty driver/tourguide/ battlewasp-sting the poison that basically ends with beatrice i:p masquerana the lvl 9 synchro and your pick of the lvl 3 xyz
I believe this archetype might have synergy with Psy-Framegear Lambda/Gamma because you banish psychic monsters face-up, allowing you to search for Gamma. Just make sure you make Lambda before locking yourself into Level/Rank 3+.
@@kingmuizz708 China has very famously a large firewall that blocks content. It's something that basically no other country has managed to replicate. And this is a very Chinese centered archetype, based around the internet, with gates.
I’d love to make this deck when they come out I hope the cards aren’t too expensive, tho knowing my luck I’ll probably won’t be able too, this deck just looks fun and the art style just looks very nice and tech-y, I hope I can make it 🙏
@@soulreaver6546 I guess, it'd just be nice, because it's a huge continent made up of over 50 countries. Tons of potential, and yet they keep going back to the same wells.
Datascape capital: if you have all the 4 gates in your spell n trap zone when u activate this, basically win the game Numeron network: if u activate this, basically win the game
I know that this is some really out-there theorizing, but... We have Chaos-like Monsters one of which works with Wind and Earth monsters instead of Light and Dark. The one that works with this decks is really bad, but does this open up opportunities for this type of card design to be revisited??
Lambda only triggers on pay-frames being banished and your question as is makes me think your asking if the datascapes themselves being banished triggers lambda
@@tester810 lambda searches a psy frame monster when a psychic monster you control is banished. I'm wondering if that triggers if a datascape monster is banished because of a "banish it when it leaves the field" effect
Haven't played yugioh since back in 2010, and then it was very casually. I've been watching your videos for two years now and its gotten me back in to the game, and they're really useful for keeping up with the 'meta'. When locals come back around I'm gonna take my shitty deck down there and get destroyed, but that's what its all about right? Just wanted to say thanks for that, and for the amazing content you give us regularly.
I like this archetype..needlessly verbose, weird conditions. It's ritual beast! I may look at the deck closer to the time. If I learned anything from the past playing new decks way ahead of their release just creates a false conclusion. I remember when dark law was first coming out and how hero was meant to be the hot sauce, tested it for months on ygopro got a lot wins. When it was released absolutely average.
@@bobbystroud5204 true! I hadn't watched the video that far when I commented 😂 I've actually been looking for a level 9 synchro so this one is perfect for me. I might try out the 6 but I usually use the shiranui 6 for the synchro climb play with spectralsword
@@marvindavid1276 Thunder Dragons can end on a good lockdown tho (colossus, now that colossus is gone, thunder dragon is gone), a very specific macro cosmos in the form of a level 9 synchro won't win games by it's own
@@marvindavid1276 Im not talking about being good. Im talking about being competitive. Be good is not enough when we have atrocities as Adamancipator or Eldlich haunting the meta game with no date to go away.
And Necroface is at 3, no? And is lvl 9 synchro is basically a Macro Cosmos, no? And most of top tier decks are graveyard users, no? Well... I just want to see the world burn
That's not very true as Datascape Fox also bans Spells/traps that leave the field (so no recycling cards you activated, so you're hurting the whole gimmick of your deck)
@@OtherWorldAmbience so, you need a specific card to counter one of your cards, i play the deck and don't see how that could help, since you need a counter to your own datascape fox
Martin Ilardi I believe your forgetting eldlich, the banlist and weirdly my Abyss Actors lol. I won all games against adamatia (adamancipator) with actor lol. They drew decent aswell, I went first game 1 and second game 2 and won all rounds. fantastic theatre is a virtue and rotak is actually mad
They're trying to support some of the weaker Attributes and Psychics. The only other Types that needed support that is left are Reptiles, Aqua, Fish, and Pyro and keep supporting the weaker Attributes Konami, especially WIND.
XianXian (仙仙)is pronounced 'see-ane see-ane'. Similarly, Xiangke magician is pronounced 'see-ah-ng-kuh' (相克). Just to tell you that so that you won't have to worry butchering the names again :D
I don't know what language you're referring to, but that is absolutely NOT how you pronounce those characters in Mandarin Chinese. the "Xi-" pinyin is pronounced phonetically like "She-" as in "she is a girl", so "Xian Xian" is pronounced "She-en She-en", ("en" as in "end"). Same thing with "Xiangke", which is pronounced "Sh-young-kuh".
Humm thunder dragon was a fusion deck that was meta admancipator is a synchro deck that's meta now xyz are gonna become meta I'm gonna predict the future and hope next meta deck will be ritual or tribute summon new monarch support incoming
Interestingly enough this deck lives and dies by it's spell/trap line up. With only 9 spells/traps in a pure deck if you can't get out at least one of the gates your gonna burn through your special summons quickly
