Man, I remember opening my PSV box way back in the day, when the set was released just after Magic Ruler. Both myself and a buddy of mine got our boxes and proceeded to tear into them. My buddy pulled Jinzo, Call of the Haunted, AND Premature Burial, so basically the nuts. And I pulled Chain Destruction and Legendary Fisherman in mine. I was a sad panda to say the least!
I remember at my first job like 14 years ago there was a rite aid across the street that had a box of pharaohs servant and sold the loose packs. I remember I would go every week after work and buy a pack or two and pray to god I pulled a Jinzo, I never did tho 😢. Pulled ALOT of graverobbers tho. I think the set was heavy on trap cards cause a lot of my rare/super/ultra/secret pulls were traps. Oh well, congrats on the jinzo man!!!
With your videos and you old school box openings I can sit back and relax and enjoy a blast of mega nostalgia that stops time and takes me back to 2002 - 2004 where Yugioh was very fun, very enjoyable, and not full of toxic cards, decks, and human beings as it is in it's current state. I miss the golden era of yugioh and these videos give me the feels!!
I remember me and my childhood friends used to play outside on the porch and using holo cards like they were dirt just putting them in the ground with no care in the world man
Haven't played the game in many years but I remember, out of all the old packs, Pharoahs I was the luckiest at. Bought 5 packs and got a ceasefire, mirror force, and legendary fisherman from them in 2002, good times.
Why are these openings so amusing to me ? Gravity bind was my all time favorite trap card it was a good troll card lol miss those days when I used to open yugioh packs and get excited for Holos
First ever booster I opened. So many cards that were so good for a long time: Jinzo GAF Noblemans COTH Dust Tornado Ceasefire Prohibition Premature Burial Cold Wave Gravity Bind TER Limiter Removal So many tourney staples
Magic Drain was always a secret tech card that I used during Return-DaD and Tele-DaD formats because of 3x Allure of Darkness, and 3x Destiny Draw. Either you went 1 for 1 and disrupted their momentum, or you gained advantage and they'd have to discard.
man you weren't kidding when you said the heat was coming. WOW! (P.S. we need to collab on a video, maybe a pack battle or something.) HAPPY NEW YEAR FAM!
My first 3 booster packs i‘ve buyed was 2x Metal Raiders and 1x Pharaos Servant, before 13 years. I get Gate Guardian and Jinzo in secret rare. That was a awesome feeling.
OMG Fiend Megacyber. All my cousins had this and kept making great comebacks with this card against me. I do remember finally pulling one of these in a pack and being really happy about this... Until those damn middle school kids at the new year's fair in my home town that wanted to "look at what I pulled" snuck the card right under my 10 year old nose and I didn't even know until I looked at my cards later. I would then later pull a Tribe Infecting Virus and got on an equal level with my cousins and friends.
Yes but SDP didn’t release until March 2003 so for about a full year the only MST was from MRL which is why it was such an expensive card back in those days
I just bought a 1st edition jinzo. They had it listed as lightly played and when I went to go get it it was flawless. Only paid $40, I thought i got a good deal. Would love to pull my own though. Great opening.
How much were Yugioh boxes when they were first released in general? Like not on Ebay, but in retail stores and card shops? I was never one to buy full boxes back in the day so I'm a little curious.
Also, you can tell these older yugioh cards, in fact every yugioh card before 2011 were extremely high quality compared to the garbage bullshit looking cost-cut cheap cards we get in newer sets. These old holos had an amazing thickness to them and the cards fonts were darker and the ink had higher quality. These new cards are very VERY cheap looking. Stupid konami.
I have LOB fakes that look better than holos from the newer sets. The new yugioh holos are all throw away garbage. The older holos no matter how shitty and useless the card is so damn cool to have.
Worst thing for me are the artworks of the newer cards. There are still many super awesome Artworks, but also so many trashy and cringy ones..especially some low level monsters or spells are really bad looking, while in the older generations up to maybe early 5Ds, most cards, even the cheaper ones, looked super cool in at least some way.
Yea I agree they started making them look different around the 5ds era I remember the first time I noticed was when my friend bought the Marik structure deck and we were wondering if the cards were fake
After all these years , i know 3 cards by name , i lost all of them My 3 favorites I played a level deck Horus the blackflame dragon Weaponized dragon And my last favorite is slifer the sky dragon Nostalgic times 10
12:01 What do they mean by "Off-center"? I can't see any imperfection on that Morphing Jar nor other cards you say are off-centered (and obviously I'm a complete ignorant on these topics lol)
One of my brother’s friends opened 20 boxes before he got Jinzo. And then when they brought out the tin for Jinzo he was so frustrated when he saw the tin with Jinzo in the tin.
wow man this brings back memories, i like this set. 6:52 OHH BABY!! and its first ed too! some of the other pulls was nice too like nobleman crossout, but man that jinzo pull is awesome.
Can someone please explain what he means when he says that the card(s) is "off-center?" He mentioned Morphing Jar #2 was "way off." I looked hard and close at it. Couldn't tell what was wrong. Someone help me lol. This was 12:00
Summoned Skull & Beast Of Talwar is like a video game regulation like COD guns for example. Summoned Skull = Strong attack but weak defence Beast Of Talwar = Weak attack but strong defence
I got two imperial orders In this set buster blade apprpiate one solemn wishes labyrinth of nightmare is the only set I have able to get both secrets from
NeverLucky money wise? Better off keeping it sealed for a broke time in your life. If you don’t care about profit, go for the nostalgic opening? I just opened my PSV box two days ago.
Paul Purser wanna hear a sad story? I purchased a sealed Spanish 1st Ed LOB box in 2012 or 2013 for $24.95. I opened it immediately, and maybe made $30-$40 selling cards and packs. Even in Spanish, that box is worth hundreds now, probably. I fucked my self
Earl McEarl true but it's about $150 on the market right now. Spanish LOBs aren't too bad to be honest. However, you might never know in the future time right?
Man it so frustrating for people like me who are just getting back into yugioh to not even be able to afford the old school stuff which is the only stuff I actually want 🙄
I remember pulling a beast of talwar when I asked my mom for a couple packs back when Blockbuster still sold Yugioh cards. Think it was from a blister tbh.
