I still don't get the argument against nectar of the gods, ofc it helps "consistency" but, from what I can tell, a lot of the game revolves around counter runes and managing to stick a good beater/advantage engine on the board; so wouldn't having more cards, therefore more counter runes, be beneficial? Especially I also know that ambrosia is a very powerful card lategame, so nectaring early gives you more chance to find also that. Like I know that the game is all about mana efficiency, but if you see more cards of your deck you'll have more chances to see your most efficient stuff, no? Such an interesting thing that pot of greed is in such a debatable position.

The Core thing with NoG in my opinion has been, Yes you see more cards but it reduces the amount of cards you will play in a whole game by 1-2 total. So while you get more options in your game, the game is slow enough that those extra options earlier don't always convert to actual impact. Additionally, a late game NoG when down on spirits can be as good as a dead draw. if you are on less than 8 spirits all a sudden its not just 10% of your life its 25% and taking away from other cards you could have drawn to do something productive.

It's also, if you think about it, a reverse ambrosia. Ambrosia puts you at +2 sprits for -1 cards, while nectar puts you at -2 spirits for +1 cards. So nog into amb doesn't actually do anything. If anything, given how good ambrosia is, it makes sense why nog isn't that good.

ambrosia is interesting because, well, it's easy to look at spirits and think of them as life, but its not. spirits are mana, they're your resource to play cards, and in that case ambrosia's not healing salve. ambrosia's dark ritual and dark ritual is fucking nuts

Pot of Greed would probably be good in Pokemon, if there was an Item card that drew 2 it would be really good, a Supporter that draws 2 would be bad since you're only allowed 1 Supporter total a turn
