If GO RUSH cannot answer or at the very least imply who Otes is and why they ended up back in time, then SEVENS is just a massive question mark ending like VRAINS
It's possible that Phantom Luke might've been Luke's Earthdamer given physical(?) form like Damamu for Yuhi. That would also explain how Luke was able to create a new Dragias card. We also haven't seen anyone in Go Rush create a new card out of nowhere just yet. But that was just a random theory that popped into my head.

The phantom Luke episode os honestly so far, my favorite episode of Sevens. It was good for Luke's character imo and then the ending with just Luke singing the ending was pretty good too.
It really seems like the studio had so many ideas for their first attempt at a Yugioh show they just couldn’t implement all of them. At least Go Rush seems to have more or less strayed away from this problem.
Ok, let's try to give answers to the questions (or at least try) SPOILERS FOR SEVENS AND GO RUSH 10: In fact, Phantom Luke appears again at the end of SEVENS where Luke mentions that he, along with The Lukeman, are part of Luke's consciousness and the three of them being united make Luke become stronger. Something to highlight about Phantom Luke is that it seems to be the representation of Luke's negative emotions or desires. Interestingly, in GO RUSH, The Luge (a character similar to Luke) has a power related to negative energy and negative emotions. It is possible that the ray of light that comes out in that episode focused on Phantom Luke is that Luke, instead of having negative energy like The Luge, has positive energy. This is further reinforced since it was two sources of positive energy (Yudias and That Guy) who confronted The Luge and managed to make him react, stopping his expulsion of negative energy (This energy was so strong that he was able to erase Zwijo from existence, killing him). Another alternative is that Luke has a pocket dimension in his head and that is why he can encounter a distorted form of himself and Duel. Very similar to Kuaidul Spacetime, a kind of pocket dimension where the characters act in different ways than one would expect and you know that you can get out of that pocket dimension into the real world. 9: Although his name is Mr. Goha, the truth is that his name is Dohl and he seems to be more than just a Goha Drone. In fact, it has been seen in SEVENS that Dohl can shapeshift and be a kind of shapeshifter according to his dialogue with Otes at the end of SEVENS. Seeing everything we've seen in GO RUSH, Dohl may be an Earthdamar who acquired a Goha Drone form to help Otes. In fact, the possession ability when Mimi used Dohl is similar to what was seen with Damamu, an Earthdamar who acquired a physical form and could possess people. Maybe Dohl is Otes's Earthdamar who is mentioned in GO RUSH, but he took on his own identity but is affiliated with Otes in the end? 8: The ruins could have been a prologue to what would become the final confrontation mentioned in SEVENS's Book. In fact, it wouldn't be a surprise for Otes to send subtle hints of a legend that could be true in the future. This becomes more obvious when you realize that there are seven united characters who use their Ace Monsters to help the MC defeat the final villain, the same one who put the ruins and the legend in the first place. 7: This is one of the questions that I don't have an answer to since it seems more like a light joke than something really serious. In fact, there were more subtle hints of jokes that became more relevant in SEVENS itself. With the information from GO RUSH, I can see a kind of retcon where that call from the girl is actually a call from the mysterious blue-haired girl who appears often in GO RUSH, who is not 100% human. 6: This is also curious since I don't have a concrete answer, but I think it only adds more fuel to the fact that Dohl is not a simple Goha Drone. It is also worth knowing that, according to the history of SEVENS, Goha City was a desert before being a city and that it was the machines that provided the foundations to create what would be known as Goha City. The thing is that, as we see in GO RUSH, there are no Drones. Mutsuba Town has technology to face Aliens, but it does not have Drones which are a main feature in SEVENS. The only Drone is Kaizo and is treated as an anomaly by the characters in GO RUSH. 5: This is linked to the topic of The Luge mentioned to point 10. That watch's power is known to be able to outdated and shut down technology. The Luge's energy allowed it to literally erase any concept of existence if The Luge desired. The fact that SEVENS mentions that this power could be linked to the Kamijo family bloodline is reinforced in GO RUSH with the existence of The Luge and Epoch. Epoch acquired that characteristic power that we see in Luke's family watches and it is known that she had contact with The Luge, an Alien being of negative energy. Maybe, instead of blood, it was Alien intervention that allowed Kamijo to have those watch abilities in the future? 4: What is known about the "Ko" Girls is that they seem like they can exist in different universes or time periods. In fact, I think it is more credible to say that their powers that they mention, time travel or space travel, are real. However, the "Ko" Girls themselves are more than just Aliens. In fact, if we take Duel Links as true information, Sorako mentions that she is not 100% an Alien per se: confirming that she knows Aliens exist during the events of SEVENS, but she does not consider herself an Alien in general. 3: SEVENS's Book is connected to point 8. In both cases, it is mentioned that there would be seven characters who would serve as the chosen ones. The interesting thing here is that SEVENS's Book basically has the story of SEVENS told briefly and without giving many details. Likewise, Otes could have used this book to create the clues and legend saying that something real will happen in the future. However, the interesting thing about SEVENS's Book is that the ending is different from what happened in SEVENS: SEVENS's Book makes it clear that Magician and the Old Man Wizard were going to die when the moon is destroyed. However, Yuga breaks this supposed ending to the story and causes him, Otes and Dohl to travel to another universe/time period. With GO RUSH, it is known that there is a possibility that the 3 have survived that supposed ending that was going to end in deaths: In short, Yuga saved Otes and Dohl's lives from their own deaths, but brought with it his own consequences that we are seeing in GO RUSH. 2 and 1: These points are quite extensive and I think they would need their own post. However, I will say that both points are connected in some way if we take into account the events of GO RUSH. Maybe Otes will give his last laugh at Yuga once he discovers that everything he's seen in GO RUSH has been a farce or a ruse to go unnoticed?
Im 90% sure we'll see young / past Otes during the GO RUSH series before it ends. (Assuming he hasn't appeared already). The fact that Luke was able to create a new Dragias card after his duel with Phantom Luke is very telling. We haven't seen something like that since Arc-V, I believe.
Phantom Luke even duels the player character rather than Luke himself in the videogame. Further implying that he's not just a figment of Luke's imagination. Just goes to show that even 7 series and 20 years on, the franchise isn't immune to early instalment weirdness.
Really fun video, been rewatching Sevens this time in dub. - For Phantom Luke, I think it's all in his mind. We do see the LP changes on the board, and I think the blinding light is from the room's window. Although he does seem to "get" an extra copy of Dragias out of it, and there's a few times when he seems to have a "real" effect on people (like that shockwave when talking to the sports teams). Hard to tell if it's just anime comedy logic or something more. - I like the Goha Drone being Kaizo theory, in the context of Otes being Yuga - but I don't think we'll ever get an answer to who the first Mr. Goha was which is what I'm really curious about lol - I wonder if the 7 runes on the Relic ties into Otes being a time traveling Yuga, since it would imply whoever designed the Relic has knowledge of who Luke was (or at least, his ace). If Otes is the one who built the door, then that would make sense. - I don't think the girl on the phone is anybody special, I think it's just comedy anime logic to show Mr. Goha's reaction to the newfound Rush Duel craze via some random kid (since all of Goha was receiving phone calls asking about Rush Duels). - I completely forgot about the Goha Army. I'm really curious on what this could mean, and we might get more in Go Rush (or beyond?) if we find out the origins of Goha. - I wonder if Luke's family's power is related to them being descendants to The Lugh from Go Rush, since he's an alien. - I think the Ko Girls are foreshadowing to the celestial direction that the Rush anime eventually take. Sort of like Yusaku being suspicious of Ai in that one scene for a moment in S1 Vrains, foreshadowing the direction Ai's character will take by S3. It's like them seeding the idea that aliens exist in the Rush universe, which get expanded on in Go Rush. - Sevens Book, I have no idea lol Considering Yuga is still a factor and Otes is nowhere to be seen in Go Rush, I suppose we could eventually see them expand on this. In the Yuga = Otes theory, perhaps it's the discovery of the book that gives Otes the plan to set Yuga on his road. It's really shaky though and hard to say. It does seem like lore that exists only in Sevens to give some legend weighting to Yuga vs Otes' conflict. - Otes, might be the time-traveling Yuga. They certainly "softly" acknowledged it in Go Rush when Yuga used the acronym to escape Zwijo's ship. Right now, it's difficult to say why Yuga would set on that path. Perhaps it's a 4D chess plan to spread Rush Duels across the universe - since it was only Otes' battle against Yuga that created the conditions necessary to initiate the events of Go Rush, which created a timeline where Rush Duels had spread across galaxies instead. I think there's a strong chance we'll see Otes in Go Rush since they seem referencing and hinting at him, so I think this will become more clear as time goes on. - I think the boy returning at the end of Sevens is indeed Yuga, just further in the future than expected. I think this answer keeps Sevens' ending purely "happy" by being the deserved reunion of his very long journey while also allowing Yuamu's speech to Yuga to also work. If it's not Yuga, then that would "take away" from the emotions of that ending that they're trying to go for in the scene.
Could otes be the man the goha drone was originally controlling before switching to mimi. I don't think that would really explain anything with his character but feels like something the sevens/go rush writers would do
Why the server on the Moon...why the ACTUAL president(s) chosen by algorithm...where did the Goha siblings come from...what did Goha duels actually look like...why so many buried ID cards to salvage for Maximums...where was "Swirly" BEFORE season 2...why does Monster Reborn have the power that it does...like I ask in all these series post-OG trinity, what is the historical context that makes monsters like Blue-Eyes "legendary" in these continuities...what happened to Roa's significantly rougher edges starting out...what was up with The☆Lukeman ominously surprising Yuo in that ending montage...what did Nanaho steal that Maximum data for...why was Nanaho working for Goha Yuga in the first place, even when nobody else seemed to know who he was, including him...why do some Fusions yield new Types and not others...where did the Otes Robot come from...for what purpose where all the tunnels and trap doors and ridiculous modular structures the Goha siblings used even MADE...if spaceships like the Sixcross exist, who else can fly...if more than one SEVENS book exists, how did they get scattered and each conveniently lose some pages...while Go Rush may yet yield answers, we still have no answer as to what Otes's Relic was initially supposed to be...why do pigeons run FedEx...did the Rush Duel Robot have its own volition or not...why was Tiger such a needlessly evasive prat regarding Swirly...
It felt like Mr Goha was supposed to be the main villain until they hanged their mind and made him a disembodied helmet. Sevens felt extremely (pardon the pun) rushed in places. The Otes reveal and other plot elements are rather sudden. I feel like some of the time spent on gag episodes would have been better used fleshing out the plot.
While reading the comments I came up with a theory about Otes. He is a character from Go Rush who we already know, who will end up marrying Yuuna. As such he becomes the 1st Mr.Goha and the drones are ment to keep hes memories and personality alive. The Otes time line: - Learns how to Rush Duel - Sees that it can become an engine of destruction, remeber they said Goha city was desert originaly, like idk a spaceship the size of a town would have crashed there. - Decides its too dangerius as is so he recreates the game as "regular" dueling and does all he can to earase Yuuga from the history books. - Understands that without a time traveling Yuuga things cant go the way they did, so the intergalactic war could never end. - Creates drones to reach immortality to able to manipulate things so they go the way he needs them to - Somewhere down the line finds the book of 7s - Long-long time pasess and realize that dueling has become much less of threat it also lost original purpose, which meas its time for Yuuga to invent Rush Duels - Meets a boy resembling Yuuga and gives him 7s road magician - Learns that hes newborn descendant called Yuuga, that he understnads as him makeing a mistake so he creates Monster Reborn in order for the "real" Yuuga to be able to win 7rm from the "fake" Yuuga and eares hes memories of Otes himself We know how the rest goes. There are some holes in here, but if we assume that Otes originates from Go Rush things start to make a whole lot more sense. Plus this way he can be brought back for the 3rd series in the 7s universe, which we need. Roman needing watch luke being doom and gloom 24/7 for 2 whole years?! Hell nah! Show me those 2 stomack for brains being happy! Also it would make it possible for someone completly unexpected to be the who beats Otes at the end. Yuuga beating him? Yeah, sure. Luke? No shit, Scherolck! Kids built different. But Gevin? Or Roman? Roa? It would be intersting to see and play in to the uncerlying theme of 7s that dueling is so complex and layered that there cant be just 1 true king of it.
When watching the video of the questions, I honestly feel that two key questions were missing that do not yet have answers and have been important: Yuga's dreams: In both Season 1 and Season 2, Yuga has dreams where we can see a Goha city in ruins and where he is the last hope where he uses a robot that will stop a meteorite. Interestingly, the robot thing would become Rush Duels's Robot and the meteor may be a reference to the duel against The Lukeman or when Otes threw a moon rock at the main group. However, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is rare for Yuga to have dreams like this where he can see that the main group failed at something and this led to Goha City being destroyed. Not to mention, if it weren't for Otes, Rush Duels's Robot wouldn't exist in SEVENS. Are these dreams actually the future that Otes planned for Goha City using Yuga as the guy who would travel that road? Are these dreams actually premotions for Yuga of a future that was averted thanks to Yuga's own actions? The Relic: This object has been very important and we do not have much information about this monument. This object is known to be able to create holograms of Otes, it is also known to be able to move at will (in fact, The Relic rescued Otes from capture) and has a lot of text inscribed on it related to legends or words that the group of SEVENS couldn't understand. It is also known to be easy to destroy, so it is not an object made of strong metal. GO RUSH'S SPOILERS GO RUSH only adds more mystery to The Relic. The Relic appeared to Phaser one day out of nowhere to fulfill his wishes. We are talking about the same The Relic that Otes used thanks to Yuamu confirming that this object reacts to Otes's name. Likewise, it was thanks to The Relic that it was possible to recreate the Maximum code that MIK used during the Phaser's regime: knowledge that only exists in SEVENS. Not to mention that, again, The Relic was destroyed and Kuaidul, the first Velgear, emerged from the object. Basically, an entity that was created a long time ago and that, for some reason, was locked inside The Relic during GO RUSH's Season 2 and was recently freed by Yuhi's actions to save Yuamu. The icing on the cake is that The Relic has Velgear language in its text, which explains why the SEVENS group couldn't fully understand it when they tried to analyze its runes.
The 1st one isnt realy a mystery. You basicaly asked why would the guy who constantly over valuates himself have dreams about him being better than others. Because he over valuates himself, constantly. There like a dozen of times when holds back crutial information from the rest of the group just because he feels like it. He wants everyone to have fun sure, but he is part of everyone and that makes him real selfish at times.

My theory is that what if otes is different from of kiba I mean he did u use blue eyes white dragon in the first episode of the show and in the Japanese version of sevens he is voiced by kiba's actor
I believe and hope we will get answers to these questions in Go Rush. I mean (spoiler - I don't know if there is a spoiler mark on RU-vid, so this is the best I can do) we literally saw Epoch doing Luke's devil. (spoiler ends) And for that reason Go Rush should be even longer.
Personaly I would prefer a 3rs series after Yuga(or whoever is in the robot) come back at the end of 7s. Go Rush characters just dont work for me. I've watched the 1st 3 episodes and until that there was the wanna be business woman, tries to be alien hunter, intergalactical war hero act like a 3 year old, Gevin just watered down, and cat. I've skipped to ep20 after than it was good for a while and than I skipped again, this show somehow feels more filler-y than Naruto. I ended season 1 in a day and I feel like the only thing I actualy missed is what exactly is an earthadam? Is that what its called?

It was explained in flashbacks that she dueled Goha Yuga at a young age. We don’t know how she knew Swirly was Goha Yuga, but since she knew how big of a threat he was, that’s why she stood against Yuga.

Super weird we never got anything more on that element. It seems EARLY Yu-Gi-Oh plots are the ones that have the most likelihood of being forgotten about, which I guess makes sense
I just watched all 92 episodes of SEVENS (IN dubbed highly reconmend the dub) i will say one thing, Phantom Luke is basically him searching within himself after questioning himself how he can better himself, but also its a nod to basically people dueling against themselves with no friends... Hashtag Relatable.

Typo on #5 “ther” For me the biggest unanswered questions are around Otes and Goha. Sevens book and Goha drone are the biggest letdowns. Alien girls are just cute characters of the week who work for Otes for money. How did they meet Otes though?
What if these unanswered questions were left for the viewers to decide since this version of yugioh Yuga didn't wanted things to change and give possibilities of new rules. Some are really good questions though but I do believe that the intent is to let the viewers decide
The biggest problem with this show was that they wanted to do an inconceivable amount but just never had any time or anyway to explain it and even when they did it either made no sense or was just incredibly underwhelming. It's just too bad they had a lot of cool stuff they wanted to do.
Youre memory wrong. The reason was because the memory wipe destroys the connections you had as by product, but in turn if the bond is being restored the memories come back as well. Since Luke was dueling for the others, and mainly for Yuga the bond he had formed with Yuga before Rush Duels becomeing a thing restroed him on the spot. The cutest part is that its also the reason why Roman didnt needed a duel to come back, she just needed to see Luke. Theyre bond arent just stronger than what other have, it also transends dueling.
After re watching sevens I gotta say Roa was kind of an ass he tricked romin into spying on yuga and he basucly used Tyler and toombs to enter the battle Royal so he could talk to otis good thing he had such a good deck that earned him some points back
We already know (or should know) what Luke’s actual power was- it was the negativity power of The Luge. The Luge’s powers were able to mess up all of the electronics in the area after Zwijo triggered him (aside from Duel Disks ofc) and I believe that Luke and his family inherited that negative power
Some theories here to answer the questions: 1. Phantom Luke is probably the manifestation of Luke subconscious or double personality born from his heritage. Go Rush may have confirmed that Luke is The king of terror The Lugh’s descendant, or maybe a reincarnation, the similarities in appearance, personality, decks and abilities could be prove and Lugh not only loved Rush duels but also was a living negative singularity so probably this phantom persona represents Lugh’s negative powers inherited by Luke. 2. Mr. Goha is more likely a faceless employee from Goha company just like many others who was “promoted or transfer” so the president drone could use him as vessel without anyone wondering or suspecting about what happened to that employee just like probably many others who were replaced once their bodies could no longer to keep up with the president responsibilities. 3. The runes were probably just a one time clue planted by Otes to set Yuga and Roa up to rush duel in The Nanameika and probably those were based in the seven characters of the book of Sevens. 4. The girl in the phone was sure one many of happy customers calling Goha company because at the time the lines were satured after Yuga installed Rush Duel and the Goha president surely has access to those phone calls from his office. 5.The goha army are likely presidential drones that work with AI that are exclusively used by the Goha siblings since they are the real presidents and only they have access to them from their office and the one we know as The lukeman was hacked and inhabited by the electronic life form created from Luke’s manga and the one known as Doll that acted as the presidents’s replacement in their absence was likely hacked and modified by Otes just like Yuga did with a Goha drone that named Kaizo. 6. The Kamijo wristwatches were explained that were defective and reacted causing the Pauli effect when wored by a Kamijo, in Go Rush Epoch Kamijo, an ancestor of the Kamijos has this ability, but she didn’t have a wristwatch, so it is likely that all Kamijos posses this dormant power, maybe because they are either related to Pauli or there are humans with these powers in Sevens, just like Romin and Rovian have the power to canalyze their emotions and turn them into energy when they reach their limit duering a duel, and the watches only amplify this Pauli effect, causing machines to malfunction. 7. The Ko girls are definitely of the remaining aliens on earth after the events of Go Rush, given that Yuhi’s hair reacted to one of them, and they were hired by Otes for his plots to manipulate Yuga because they always play a role in most arcs, also in Go Rush we see three of them dressed as crabs, probably their species look all the same but dress different according to their biology or they’re just fans of earth culture. 8. Many deck desings in the anime and real life are based in the folklore, myths, legends and culture. So the book of Sevens was probably a fictional novel written by an unknown author and Otes was inspired by this book for its plot and because it ends with the moon destroyed, where the Goha duel main server is located by coincidence. 9. I have a theory that Otes is probably Yuga from an alternate future because Otes not only manipulated Yuga since his early childhood as seen in flashbacks, but also seem to know him quite well to be one step ahead using him for his plot to destroy dueling, he was smart enough to help him install Rush Duels and every move he did was like knowing how Yuga would respond, they both are really similar in both dueling, having skill using different decks and also inventions, like hacking drones, installing new duel formats by hacking servers and their giant robots, Otes claimed he created dueling for the same reason Yuga did, to bring freedom and joy to the children, but in Go Rush was hinted that because Yuga time travel and introduced Rush Duels in the past, they probably were restricted and forgotten by history, becoming the restrictive Goha Duel that Yuga despised, this probably means they were the same person who wanted to destroy duels because their creation was taken from the hands of the children, so time travel could probably be key of Otes's "inmortality", since he created duels before Goha became a company city and he created Sevens Road achetype at some point when he worked for Yuna Goha in the past and to pass it to Yuga, his younger self, to set in motion all the events that Otes cause and lived in his past as Yuga Ohdo. It's a paradox and time loop, they are the same person, the origin and enemy of each other and without one the other can't exist. 10. The final question will be probably answered at the end of Go Rush, but I think that person in the ship is Yuga, because not only Rush Duels were reinstalled when arriving Goha city, but also Sevens Road magician card possessed by Luke changed back to Yuga’s ID card, confirming his presence within the communication area.

@@Otes-th7id Yuhi’s hair acts weird when there’s an alien around, in the Sevens finale Yuga and Otes dissapear in space at the end of their duel, it was confirmed they were sent through time, Yuga was sent to the past, in episode 62 after being turned into cats inside cards and being sent to the card world; Yuga, Yuhi and Yuamu accdidently travel to the future as cats, Yuga’s time period, there they checked on their past through the archives and it’s confirmed that Go rush takes place in a distant past before the events of Sevens, later in Goha city they met one of the Ko sisters, the one who is a robot trailer and Yuhi’s hair reacts, proving all the other sisters are aliens.
My burning question for the writers of this show is why have your main villain who never won a duel in the entirety of the show? Making dueling him at the end was less impactful. I felt like Bohman and Marik were overrated. Marik should have lost to Mai but won cause the writers made her do something outside of her personality. Bohman should have lost to Aoi. He pretty much lost nearly every time while winning more due to storyline protection. Yet, they were more convincing as a final villain than Seven's.
That's definitely been a big theory out there since EP 1 of Sevens. But it's not even certain if Otes will appear in the current show Go Rush, so who knows
makes any sence... thats why otes is yuga. he doesnt say before rush duel he says the predessor to goha duels. which we now know is rush duel. its just an eternal loop with the same person trying to not destroy the timeline xD. if he wouldnt do it well everything would be gone. poof
and nooow i got a sollution finally to the sevens road problem. eventually yuga gets corrupted or something turning sevens road into a dark haired magician as well as with witch. he creates a new one preparing to give it to the past himself. also... heres a really stupid theory that makes 0 sence the ohdo twins beein otes desendants. this would make sence alllll the way up until end of last arc when we find out well noone was on the ship when it arrived
I really don't like sevens and go rush i know is a parody but is not good and rayting is bad i think, i hope yugioh nine is a reboot for dm series or continue after dsod
Sorry man! I watched the whole series (Sevens) and I'm still disappointed with the comedic tone that ruins the story's relevance. They have a great introduction for the villains that goes nowhere. My favorite episode is still the one where they duel (Massage Chair). Nail Saionji is the only character with a decent performance in the show. I tried to watch Go Rush but I gave up after the episode with Chupataro Kaburagi because I was convinced that the tone of the show doesn't change. Now I ask. Is Go Rush worth watching?

If you're put off by comedic tone, then any Rush Duel anime is not for you. They are primarily for kids. Go Rush's theme went darker these past few arcs but there are still light-hearted moments to balance it out. Depends on your taste.
