Combos now (to the most exaggerated degree: "Okay, so this one card combos into the rest of my deck, so I just summon my entire deck to the field in attack mode and I automatically win."
I mean I have straight up pulled a board wipe combo with two summons and double summoned for lethal damage on board turn one with masked heroes before so yeah it gets pretty insane
Do you remember the times that summoning a 7 star normal monster makes you feel like a god? You have a plenty of chance to finish the game but you chose not to because you want to torment your friend. Good old mdafkng days!
Uhhh,that was literally never a thing.Normal summoning a level 7 vanilla was never good. Even in Yugi-Kaiba format that was a trash move. Playground meta =/= competitive meta

I feel so old somehow cauz i've been playing for 20 years almost but i still play like "then" But i also feel sad that no one play "for fun" with the make do decks
Preach on! Was taught by young brother 15 years ago. He got out around 9-10 years back, but I was more of a collector anyways. Love to play now and then, but so many players are nasty cutthroats with no desire to trade or share strategies.
@@markirizarry4851 i can feel you I collect and build many make do decks (old and new archetypes) but none competitiv decks Meanwhile every players i find are only competitive and rushing like "yo your deck is shit, why are you playing with it"...
Dude, for my experience, even "4fun" have it's metas. Imagine, a YuGiOh tournament where no one where alowed to play handtraps (at least the strong ones) and no one where alowed to play meta decks, just rogue to fun decks, some decks just aren't meta yet because they lack in suport but have the potential, like Zombies, Shaddolls and Fur Hires. I mean, if you play a game only with "bad decks", there is always going to exist that "least bad" deck, that's always going to have a higher winrate than others. My dream is to play some cool archetypes, like Steelswarms, Constelars, Satelar Knights, Battlewasps, Weather Painters, but whenever i take those to my locals, i get absolutely destroyed game after game. I play Sky Strikers, that's for me a very borring deck, but all decks are pretty borring nowdays, and lets be real, no one does have fun playing a completely one sided game. I really wish i could play a game just for the pleasure of seeign my favorite cards, just to do that insanely dificult combo to pull off, but when it does it's anime material, but that's never going to happen my friend.
It's true for the most part but sometimes if u use a meta engine or any stapels as mentioned it can get quite difficult but it's not the end of most rogue decks more like the new op decks and cards that came out to balance them

@@e-tan3911 a person who immediately assumes it's a draw card before reading or looking at the card...I had it when I played duelingbook once before and I explained that's not how it works...they quit the duel after that after saying I was salty.

The hand shuffling simply out of impatience, telling him to hurry up, confirming with the judge or other people if something is legit or not and most of all...just plain rude! She nailed it! Those were the kind of people I played against back in high school and it wasn't a fun experience.

U can still play old yugioh and older formats or u just play for fun maybe with someone else so it's not like u can't play the old yugioh anymore or with friends or whatnot where banned cards like change of heart etc it's all up to you then
I liked playing Yu-Gi-Oh! When it was simple, now it’s just too complicated. Like I played my friend recently and he pulled out like 10 cards in one turn from one monster card and then wiped my out that same round.
that wasn't fun with my high school friends when I think they were on 5d already.... anyway I was still in love with Duel monsters which I will forever be, but they cheated and wiped me out and said, you suck. never dueled again since. now I'm learning all the crazy and yeah I'm still in peace
At my locals, that last scene actually happened. Dude demanded I give up just because he ashed me. I stared at him then said "chain called by the grave", he stood up and actually flipped the table. It was a so crazy
I remember I went to an ARG tournament and we both used blue eyes (this was right after it fell out of the meta). But we both knew each other’s combos and we’re making fun of it the whole time. It was a good time
One thing i didn't know as a return yugioh player was you have to be very fast but how can you be fast when the text's are so freaking small now it will take you like the whole day to finish reading what your cards does and plus everyone hates a slow player now.
Just explain that you're a returning player. They will be patient! Also as a returning you should ask to read ALL the cards you don't know, that's how you learn how to counterplay and how to improve your combos ^^
If you are a returning player, do yourself a favor to save time and money, and practice on online simulators first. If you don't do this you will get stomped at IRL events, and you won't really ever improve. Cause you play like 4 games in 3 hours. It's gonna take you forever to start getting better. Online you can do a whole lot more, and you can read card texts at any time without necessarily pausing the flow of the game. I can't stress enough how important simulators are to jumpstart your skill to a certain level.
This is how I think we can fix Yugioh. Don't allow players to mix cards with old cards or new cards. So basically.."If this is Link era cards the players are not allow to use any cards that are not from Link era. Vice Versa". I think because they allowed people to mix older era cards with new era cards and that create a huge mess in the game. Now in order to "try to balance shit out" they start banning cards, nerfing cards and limited certain old school cards.

Since the release of Master Duel, I got back in. I can confirm that you may not hear your opponents, but you know most of them playing top tier decks are just shitty players. The game was very fun many years ago and like myself, most players stopped because there wasn't any creativity anymore.
I miss the game state of Zexal... it was still somewhat manageable to build unorthodox decks and have fun back and forth. Now it’s always a one-sided duel, no balance. Only one person in the duel gets to play the game at a time anymore.
YuGiOh be the kind of game where while winning you have a smug smile inside but while losing you mentally flame everything in creation and repeat "what a shitty hand" as a mantra
As a guy that got back into Yu-Gi-Oh with some friends due to Legacy of the Duelist this video is so accurate with us when it comes to new wave Yu-Gi-Oh..the banlist have me in tears 😭😭😭
