Netflix last episode english subtitle japanese dub. Younger Toguro repent after get killed by Urameshi. Yusuke saves Keiko and embarks for new journey in season 2 Dark Tournament Saga. #yuyuhakusho #netflix #liveaction
No complaint, I had a cousin who died in early 2000, at age 34 only. He loves Yu Yu Hakusho. I wish he still here and see in this live action or I called once in a lifetime opportunity
I agree. It might be late but i never imagined that i will be able to see a decent live action of yuyu. Im just glad to be alive and be able to watch this.
The only complaint that I have on this adaptation is the pacing. Season 1 should have been dedicated to the backstories of the characters and how they come together before meeting the Toguro brothers so that the audience could relate and care about them. Season 2 should have been dedicated to the Genkai and Dark Tournament arcs if they want to shake things a bit with Dark Tournament as a battle royale with the last one standing will fight the Toguro Team.
With how fickle Netflix sometimes gets when it comes to TV series ratings and how they suddenly cancel a show without any warning, I guess the producers wanted to make sure they actually finish a whole story arc before that happens. But 5 episodes is really rushing it considering most series gets at least 12 episodes in and the anime gets 24.
S1 should have been about from yusuke becoming a spirit world detective, saint beasts and ended with first toguro meeting, everyone will probably wont complain if they rushed those arcs as long as Season 2 would be about the dark tournament entirely
I literally just finished the show, which I watched only for Meiko Kaji (it was awesome beside her), and looking for this exact scene. I adore Lady Snowblood and Sasori, so seeing her young again at 0:56 made me tear up honestly. Of course it's not the same, but the creators made a superb job in de-aging. And was so annoyed they talked so bad about her being old and ugly. C'mon, that woman is still beautiful even in her seventies. I hope they will do a second season quickly and brings back Genkai in some way.
When I first saw the trailer, I thought it going to mesh the Saint Beasts with the first meet up with Toguro, but to think they skipped all the way to the end of the dark tournament arc. It baffles me
Saaaame! Honestly, I get it but at the same time the Saint Beasts arc held the purpose of showcasing just how evil demons were so when we get to TDWT and are hit with a human trying to open a gateway, shit hits different. Suzaku was done dirty😭😭😭
For me this was absolutely meh, so rushed. The viewer has no idea why this scene is so important, while in the anime it's just absolutely heartbreaking and whatever grudge you held against Toguro, you forgot all of them. Toguro is one of the best anime villains ever and they just quickly throwed him away like this. In 5 episodes...
They were playing safe with this show, testing the waters of the audience. I can't imagine if they cancelled this show without reaching the dark tournament. They knew the fans wanted Toguro so they had to introduce him quickly to grasp the audience.
@@derekhayter4879True. Sadly it's very obvious the climax of season 1 was supposed to be Yusuke/Kuwabara X Toguro when he fakes his death. His revival with the invitation for the dark torneament would be the perfect cliffhenger. I still enjoyed this adaptation regardless
@@derekhayter4879yeah and the fan are mad, I really like this live action and trust me I’m 30, I know yuyu since I’m like 5. If those fan want something better they need to appreciate first. There are plenty of people that even have a house live with they mother, can even do something for their life but want to critics this show. Shame on y’all
@@derekhayter4879 But at the same time just threw him out instantly. Squeezing multiple arcs into 5 episodes in my opinion was a really bad call. The season should've been minimum 10 episodes, introducing Toguro around 4, having this fight around episode 9-10. This goodbye scene could've been much more impactful if they gave more time to show his and Genkai's past. When she told Yusuke to not give up his humanity, people wondered "okay... why exactly?". If they continue with season 2, I hope they will give more episodes and carefully thread Sensui's story into the timeline.
The action scenes are another level! ❤Brilliant, really but the narrative needs working. It didn't land emotionally well with the audience. The production team should make it more emotionally resonant. 🤞
In all honesty, I was disappointed that in 0:55 was the only scene we see of young Genkai. I was looking forward to see her in a fight. Also in the scene 2:20, I was expecting Sensui to walk up to Elder Toguro.
this scene has so much more weight to it in the anime because its after the tournament and we figure out why toguro chose the path he did. in this version he doesnt get a chance to really shine like that so this feels so rushed. By getting rid of the dark tournament we are getting rid of one of the best arcs in the anime besides sensui and the dark spirit detective. it bugs me how half hazardly they skipped so much from the anime. the whole point is that yuske fights someone way out of his league. theres a point for him to grow and develop because toguro is still out there planning and scheming. the show gets rid of all of that for no real reason.
The actors and fighting scenes were great! But how wished they followed the exact story lines of the anime! This could have been better than One Piece. Should have put more budget on this film!
The major reason that these arcs are skipped Genkai Exam: uninteresting villain Saint Beast: too much need of CGI The Dark Tournament: too long and too much setup needed
The visuals really were the only thing they got right about this adaptation. Everything else felt like they just ripped apart both the anime and the manga looking for 1 min clips to Frankenstein together. If they really wanted to make a good adaptation they should have put all their attention on the dark tournament and basically used the first season as a way for us to get excited about the dark tournament and then made the dark tournament 2-3 seasons long. I really hate how little risk these companies put on these live adaptations I mean they could make some serious money if they just tried.
The anime scene was so special, from the music and the feels very different from this one they didn't really catch that feels and the music was not good.
This live adaptation is too fast, this is only for those who have already watched the original anime series and already know the backstory of all the characters. I daresay thay if they took their time in this live series it could’ve taken at least 3 seasons w/ 10 episodes each to tackle the most crucial parts of YYH. Imagine the spirit wave orb being given like a birthday present to Yusuke here.
The one thing that held so much emotion IMO, was that song. That song made me tear up every time they played it. It wouldn’t be YuYu Hakusho without it
I enjoyed the commence, but what the hell just happened in the end man! They got rid of Toguro too soon. Yusuke didn't even had time to hone his skills. The makers ended the story in a rush.
Netflix even got freakin' Snake Way right? I know its not exactly that, but I see they're both from something in Japanese Mythology. Man, Disney better secure the DragonBall film rights & WB better secure Bleach, otherwise, Netflix will be the king of live action anime. After seeing Tokoro, seeing buffed up transformations, if Disney doesn't have the DB film rights, then we'll see live action Kio-Ken Goku from Netflix in...5 or 10 years.
They COOKED with this scene!!!!! I get it doesnt hit for new watchers, but as a YUYU fan for years I already have the context so this scene works wonders for me
I dont like the color tones.. it’s like a direct port of the anime to live action… which looks weird..🤣 Should have adjusted for live action… It’s like if they ported wolverine in his yellow spandex from the animated series to the xmen movies
I didnt like the live. I dont know if its a personal dislike, but i feel like live japanese actors arent very good in translating anime to live action. It always feels either overblown or too restricted, like they can never get into their role. Anyone rlse feel the same? Its strajge because in VA i prefer japanese over dub, but comparing it for example qith one piece, i felt the yranslation there was decent(for the most part)
@@geraldking9385 well, I dont know what nationality are the one piece actors, but even they seemed better at it. I'm not trying to diss them, I just feel their live acting is strange compared to their va acting
@@blkwng I believe they needed to exaggerate the action because it's from an anime after all. I mean take rorouni kenshin for example. It wasn't exactly super animated as opposed to yuyu, inuyasha, Gundam, etc.
