(Yugioh OMEGA) DRAW 7 + SUMMON FLOODGATES?! - Ice Barrier Runick (Post-BLTR)

The Legendary Frozen Dragons have finally been unsealed in the TCG for competitive play, and when paired with Runick the Ice Barriers sure are competitively viable! I was pleasantly surprised at how resilient and powerful the strategy has become, especially with how it powers through handtraps while simultaneously setting up its gameplan. I find the most satisfying thing about this deck is the INSANE DRAW 4 that Crocodragon + Coral Dragon gives you! Along with the draw 3 that Runick has, you'll find yourself with an overwhelming amount of card advantage to throw at your opponent, while you summon Ice Barrier floodgates!
With all the support Ice Barrier has received over the past couple years, especially via the recent Battles of Legend Terminal Revenge, the strategy truly has graduated beyond it's "terrible Duel Terminal" status. I've played a lot of Runick combo variants, but I gotta say this is one of my most favourite!

Absolutely incredible video and a great ygoprodeck post too! Thoughts on the evil barrier statue + prima donna variant? And would you consider finding space for the icejade synchro 10? Thanks again for posting!

Glad you enjoyed it! The Prima Donna Water Barrier Statue combo seems kind of gimmicky (since the combo is fragile and the endboard seems weak) to me and doesn't have as much staying power as Lancea or Chengying. Perhaps it can be put into the side deck and you can try to go for it if you know you're going first? But with that being said, it seems weaker than the regular combos - and Lancea summons floodgates that lock your opponent out anyways. As for the Icejade Synchro, the Extra Deck is REALLY tight, and I couldn't find anything to cut to include it. When I made a "pure" version of this deck, I think I'll include it as well as her maindeck version as well. Thanks for watching :)

@@FaithYGO I agree, the barrier statue line is possibly a good auto win side deck for going first but does cut you off the croco draws. I'll try it out in the side and see what I think. The only other card I've played around with is Sauravis as a 1 of search target for when arc light eventually tributes itself. It's a half decent hand trap in its own right if you draw it to counter imperm etc The deck is harder to play than I thought, you really have to know your lines or you end on suboptimal boards. Definitely enjoying it a lot and will be taking it to locals soon, thanks again

How would you compare this deck to the more pureish version using the icejades and usual handtraps?

I personally prefer the Runick version since I find it more fun. Also, the free bodies Runick summons on the field allow you to play through handtraps better since it makes synchro plays easier to access. The "pure" version of Ice Barrier using Icejades + mass handtraps is more competitively viable though, since it can use a ton of them and handtraps are kind of mandatory this format with the insane power of Snake-Eyes, Fiendsmith and Yubel.

omega.duelistsunite.org/ Yugioh OMEGA. It's an automated Yugioh simulator just like Masterduel or EDOPRO. It has a built-in ladder system so finding opponents in it are easy.
