What another gorgeous location! Really like the stealth burner, and measured mess tins. I wonder… does it have a well fitted lid? Would like to see the mess kit laid out. Another informative video and just earned my sub!
Your's was a nice video. I've seen a few on the Yugo/Serb mess kit. An aluminum top bowl would have been nice , to be able to have a second heatable container for a brew. I just aquired one of those German Wehrmacht 3 piece mess kits which, if you remove the inner cup/bowl, will perfectly accommodate a U.S. aluminum GI canteen cup and a One Pint (half quart) GI Pilots canteen/flask (my now favorite canteens) , or no cup and Two pilot's canteens/flasks. I'd not seen the "stealth cooker" like yours. I have a BCB Fire Dragon cooker & a copy of the Esbit. Like your German Flecktarn blouse. I'm pretty much your size & canNOT get much decent euro military camo in my size in the States. I was lucky to get Two New DPM blouses (190/120) and Two New MTP combat shirts. One New Italian 1985 OD blouse. New sub. ATB from the States
I have a yugo mess kit...it now resides at the back of the garage. in real camping situations it is a pain to clean the insides out and they get really tight fitting after a few uses. only my own experience but a great video to show it off.
Thanks Rooster. It is what it is, and its not the ultimate in kit, but to make a start we have to experiment with the kit we have. Some have pockets deeper than others, some like myself have difficulty finding stuff to put into my pocket, like a lot of others at this time. Hope to show you lots of other stuff that lives in my garage too.
@@justgoingout6824 I hope i didnt sound too harsh, it was unintentional if it did...i just have a lot of years of experimental kit hanging around in nooks and crannies. i look forward to more of your videos, they are informative and enjoyable sir! keep em coming !
I honestly really like the design of that mess kit, my only complain is that the canteen seems to be a little bit brittle or fragile since it is rectangular and a bit thin when compared to other surplus canteens such as the US style canteens. Other than that, I really enjoy using it :) They are really hard to find nowadays
Hi Sergio. Its a bit tinny when compared to say a British 58 pattern waterbottle. However, and its a big however, it is strong and durable, and when carried is supported by the Aluminium pan, and supported by the plastic bowl / mess
Very good for cooking rice, washed till water is clear, not cloudy. One square cup of rice to two of water boil l till most of the water is absorbed remove from heat the place plastic pot on mess tin for approximately 15 minutes to trap steam in tin I Tried it today with Basmati rice with a good result.Often wondered how best to use the small cup. Lovely bit of kit. incidentally I used gas not a trangia or solid fuel tablet on a stove at home. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E5DtaakNRBw.html
