Un Florilège d'extraits des concertos : n°2 de Chopin . n°2 de Brahms . n°2 de Tchaikovsky . n°3 de Rachmaninov . n°5 de Prokofiev. Yuja nous offre des moments de grâce , au delà des mots. Yuja offers us moments of grace, beyond words.
Once I discovered her I never listened to any other pianist, especially for the most difficult works. Prok 2nd, Rach 3rd and such. Unbelievable clarity AND musicianship...
"She is to performance what Bach is to composition": I think, you are right, and my perception of this quality of performance couldn't be expressed any better!
What is it about this astonishing woman? I just discovered her 2 weeks ago, and I cannot get enough. It is not just listening, but watching her as well. The perfect combination of passion and abandonment, but such a complete technical mastery of the piano that she is in absolute control. I’m usually more jazz and rock oriented, but I have listened to little else since discovering Yuja Wang. I’m just happy to be sharing the planet with this remarkable and talented person!
Brings tears to my eyes. How these composers must be thrilled to know that their music is being played to such perfection more than a century after their passing. Yuja never disappoints, not for a fraction of a second. How lucky we are to be able to hear such brilliance and bask in these exquisite performances.
Wang is a force of nature. The virtuosity, the showmanship she has it all. I must confess to being a major fan. To perform such demanding music on big stage with such security and aplomb is impressive in the extreme. And never mind the razzmatazz, the woman is a true artist with a distinctive style of her own. That crystalline tone and classical elegance even in big romantic works.
Yuja is a gift from gods....Just look at her face when performing Piano concerto No3 in D minor...this smile when she starts...completely no stress and stage fright.
I think somehow her passion infects us like waves that radiate from the center, which is she. I saw her in Amsterdam. Her sincerity to the compositions was so crystal clear it range out like the light beams from a lighthouse. Funny enough, I saw Thelonious Monk a couple of times. It was mesmerizing. His music was him, nothing else existed. That is how I feel about Yuja Wang.
No matter how bad a day I have or how depressed I feel No one can lift my spirits like this Beautiful Genius Thank you so much Yuja I love you always ❤️
Darling Yuja an absolute Genius You are a joy to behold thank you so much for making life more enjoyable during these crazy times I love you so much ❤️
I love the freshness and spontaneity of Yuja Wang who has fun like a child playing difficult scores with disconcerting ease, but getting to that level you probably have to work very hard.
I think she just so obviously enjoys what she does. It's like she's slightly amazed and delighted with these marvelous toys she has--her hands. Of course she's worked like a dog for it, but still, it always seems like she's playing--like in the original kid's sense of the word--and that, more than the dazzling technique, is what makes her so special
Good grief, Charlie Brown, I am in awe of this highly talented woman! Can't even begin to think of the long arduous hours day in and day out for decades to arrive at where she is today--at the top of the heap. I love the piano, read not a note but on a good day when the stars align in the night skies and the moon is at its fullest, I can play the child's version of Chopsticks forgetting only half of it. She is, as some have coined her, a wonder of Nature--yes, she was undoubtedly born with a proclivity for music--but she's had to work exceedingly hard to attain the recognition she rightly receives today. As for comments about her manner of dress, I don't care if she shows up in baby doll p.js or a potato sack, Sex has been with us for untold eons and I see nothing wrong with the way she dresses. She looks like a jewel and touches all the senses.
I am a Dutch classical music junk, I love classical music so much...sometimes friends ask me "where do I start my journey discovering classical music" Now I can say "listen to this!"a good 30 minutes and you have the virus classical music and it is such better virus than Covid 19.

Did you also heard her interpretation of the Schumann concerto? A world class performance from another world, so incredebily beautiful!
The thing about Yuja is that whatever piece she plays sounds like something so refreshingly new and in a big way be it her Kreutzer sonata, her Scarlatti sonata, her Brahms 2, her Mendelssohn 1, her Scriabin sonata, her Prokofiev 5, etc.
Yuja given her youth is one of the most gifted artists to come out this century. It is amazing how comfortable she is with everything she plays. It is also amazing that there is nothing in the piano literature or concerto literature which hasn't been played by this superb artist. Her technique is amazing and so effortless! She is well able to soar above a full orchestra and do it comfortably! Her youthful beauty is amazing and I do believe she has a long life ahead of her as a concert artist! What more can I say!
Like any Chinese, Yuja will quickly lose its use value. It will be difficult to return from the business style she currently practices, to a long-term value. Technical skills will never be able to counterbalance European-type sensitivity. Of course, I also understand those who admire her physical presence! That way we don't take into account the moments when she improvises, hard.
Cette pianiste me touche à chaque fois au coeur. Au delà de son incontestable perfection technique, elle vit sans ostentation, en toute humilité et avec intensité la musique qu'elle interprète. Il n'y a actuellement pas mieux que Yuja Wang.
She is the only Prodigy i know that am able to think is equal to the amazing wonder people must hace falta and live, knowing Mozart we are very very privileged to have her in our Life time, thank God and thank You Yuja Wang. May You live very very long time because your work is now a ofrecer Legend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sound, touch, wide dynamic range, control, clarity, sparkle, musicality, balance, power, lightness, rhythmic, just a few of the words that come to mind.
she's not normally so emotional. maybe there was something in her personal life at the time that affected her. or maybe she's just feeling the music. i've played this a couple of times (in the fiddle section); it's a very powerful piece, hard to not get choked up a bit at the end.
Revised Comment: Being talented, gifted, amazing, wonderful, marvelous, fascinating, prudent along with great wisdom and cleverness, All are contributable to Yuja Wang's uniqueness. (The above two poetic verses are ending with the same 3-syllable rhyme. Grammar can be hidden or even absent in poetry). Among the many awards which she received, The Musical America Artist of The Year 2017 signified not only her exceptional musicality but also her wisdom in light of sharing. Besides her virtuosic performances in concerto and solo recitals, she has played piano respectively with many world-class musicians (most of them had received top awards in Europe, North America, and other nations) such as the famous violinists, cellists, pianists, clarinetist, and creative percussionists. Whenever she plays with peers in the concerts, she appears unpretentiously yielding the stage (e.g. center of attention) to other musicians. This manifests her wisdom in light of sharing.
GOD BLESS YOU MS YUJA WANG. YOU'RE AN INSPIRATION OF THE PRESENT AND WILL INSPIRE THE NEXT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS OF TALENTS. YOU ARE SUCH A VERY ENORMOUS GOD'S GREATNESS. WHEW
Sólo le doy gracias a la vida por haber conocido a Yuja Wang.....algo maravilloso....extraordinario....me disocio cuando la escucho y miro....me quedo sin representaciones....sin palabras....y sólo me queda ella....!
Let us not forget that with all her gifts Yuja has worked hard and long to develop those gifts to a level most of us are not familiar with. She flat out owns Rach 1 and 2 along with many other pieces we are fortunate to have here. She is years from her prime as a virtuoso performer. The commitment, passion, attitude, intellect, humor and love of life we see and feel when she walks out there in that YOWEEE dress lets everyone know we are getting the full treatment, all stops out! She owns us and we love it.
@@daffyduck4195 if I remember, G. Dudamel and Y. Wang performed and will perform again all the Rachmaninoff concertos in a series of concerts. Even the 4th which is not composed by SR.
God gave me desire to listen to classical music and now I know why !I am so touched by your personality and your performances,it’s just blue my mind to Heaven, very happy for you ! I enjoyed each moment! All the best to you and your family dear Yuja! Hope to see you in Vancouver!!!
You've opened a box I opened almost 70 years ago - and I have barely begun enjoying its contents ! Don't miss the "second tier" - Moszkowski, Glazunov, Scharwenka & many, many others !
When all the madness is over, looking foreword to seeing you at London's Barbican. It can't come quick enough. You bring such joy. You play with such feeling. Thank you.,
This is a gift from the One and Only True God, Jehovah-Elohim. Yuja uses her gift to penetrate to the very heart of the listener. Her performance is both refined and exquisite with profound pathos and passion. Yuja is definitely one of the icons of the century. I pray that she will have a long and enduring legacy.
Here is why Yuja is THE pianist for me: because I can take off my audiophile headphones and listen to her through the crappy phone speaker and...voila...tears, still.
Thank & bless you, Yuja. You are a dear to offer such comfort to all whose hearts as well as ears are open to your gift (pun intended). Such sweetness is rare in musicians. PS. You have THE strongest & most beautiful pianist's hands I have ever seen. Such a pleasure to see them move up & down the keys (another pun intended). Stay safe.
Such a beautiful talented woman, who makes everything she performed as good as the composer intended, Yuja always the constant entertainer, one never knows which beautiful wardrobe she will delight us with... but one must never forget the other talented musicians and director who together complete any composition, Thank you!
The thing with this level of absolute perfection is that it spoils the fun of playing myself. I mean, there's a shadow to everything, right? (Ok, i admit that I'm jealous)
Thanks for the fabulous edition! 'Beyond words', indeed. That Prokofiev's 5th concerto is hair-raising, wish to see the full concert. The ending is super! :)
Now that is a testament to a great performance. I don't think I have ever heard the term "hair-raising" and Prokofiev 5th Piano Concerto in the same sentence.
She listens to the orchestra and they listen to her - she gets the best performances from all the orchestras he plays with. Her complete mastery of her instrument and the score makes them want to be better; I see it with every orchestra she performs with. Many of the players are mesmerized by her musicianship and others like in the Gershwin pieces bop their heads to her rhythms. Very exciting times for us fans!
Magic touch loving the grand piano and audience appreciation. Thank you Yuja for your style so suitable to your different listeners / target groups around the world. Missed you in Stockholm March 15 2020. Welcome back ASAP. Have you had any concert in Bangkok yet?
