I don't know how many times I have watched this encore. Watch the gentleman's reaction 1:02 and I saw him keeping his head up from that moment onward. There are endless imaginations what he was thinking, or maybe not thinking, for the rest of the performance. In 3 minutes with the music playing, I talked to everyone I love so deeply but has gone up to the heaven. I told them I love them and I miss them and I will be coming to be with them again. You made this sad piece ever so slightly joyful. To me, that is the perfect rendition. Thank you, Yuja! You are the best! Please take care of yourself so that we get to enjoy your music for years to come. Please also come to Seattle when things get back to normal.
I suspect that whoever designed the model for multithreaded computer processing must have taken inspiration from piano players. Those fingers of Yuja are simply magic. They can express poems.
This is one of my favorite pieces of music. My daughter is a professional flutist and often played this piece in competitions when she was a child. It is rarely heard as a piano piece. It always brings back memories both good and not-so-good.
