"I am you" in reference to Yuji and Mahito means that Yuji kills curses because he's a jujutsu sorcerer, and Mahito kills humans because he's a curse. There's no deeper meaning, and that's what Mahito was trying to tell Yuji, there doesn't need to be a deeper meaning to do what you do. That's why they used Wolves and Rabbits as a metaphor because there's no deeper meaning to a wolf hunting a rabbit other than it needs to eat, it's their role.

I’m glad they did the rabbit and wolf scene justice, and that they fit this all into one episode, I was worried we wouldn’t get itadori’s speech at the end

Best episode of the show hands down. Yuji's progression from a boy with morals and a just reason for fighting to a broken man who doesn't need a reason to just kill what disgusts him is amazing! People talk about Gojo taking the spotlight but this episode shows how good of a character Yuji is and has been from day 1. His development was present slowly the whole way through and he just might be my favourite character in the show now. Definitely picking up the manga as soon as the season ends. Also f*ck Mahito but what a great villain!

24:32 Yujis body is exceptional but it’s not because of Sukuna. If you guys remember from the very first episode of the whole show, Yuji was breaking athletic world records casually in his highschool.(Todo also mentioned at the exchange event that Yujis raw power was stronger than his) The reason for his exceptional body and strength has not yet been revealed in the anime, but you can start to theorize based on his grandpa mentioning something about Yujis parents before he died. Nothing is luck or coincidence with yuji

Mahito's form in this episode was gained through an immense understanding of his own soul. In exchange for not being able to use Idle Transfiguration on most of his body(except his hands), he gained a massive boost in his physical and defensive abilities thanks to a binding vow. It's stated that this form is about 200 times tougher than his normal state. Yuji's hits that did so much damage before were suddenly having no impact on Mahito. It's stated in a little volume extra that if Yuji hadn't nailed Mahito with that last Black Flash, he would've been instantly torn to shreds. To me, one of the most interesting things about Mahito is how fast he grows. His potential. He's still essentially a child due to how young he is. Yet he managed to master Domain Expansion(something many sorcerers can never do), learned to transfigure himself more, found a counter to Simple Domain, used Black Flash, copied a very specific technique that GOJO of all people used on instinct by releasing his Domain for 0.2 seconds in order to counter Sukuna inside Yuji, told the King Of Curses to move aside, and discovered his true form thanks to realizing who he is. If he didn't have damage already accumulated in his soul or didn't have to worry about Sukuna being inside of Yuji, this wouldn't have even been a fight. Because he would've just used his more powerful soul techniques and just transfigured Yuji and then Todo. Mahito was the exact Curse that Sukuna said Jogo should've been. Someone who destroyed everything around him and lived only for himself and the torment of others. But in the end, Mahito's steps towards greatness were halted by a max power Black Flash straight to the soul. Centered on an unprotected part of his body. He managed to permanently cripple Todo and prevent him from using his technique ever again due to damaging his soul. And now, Geto has appeared before Mahito. Questioning if he will save him.

To clarify: Yuji pretended to go for a black flash to trick Mahito but instead it was a divergent strike with a delayed impact that catches Mahito off guard, then Todo comes in with his phrase making Mahito think he will switch places but Todo tricks him too and doesn’t, and then Yuji lands the final black flash that finished him.

Yuji going demon mode on Mahito is so incredibly satisfying 😈

Black flash is one of the strongest attacks on the series, and it actually scales with yuji pretty well being exponential. The reason it seemed weak was because Hanami is probably the most durable curse in the series apart from Mahito in ISB. It’s stated in a chapter extra that the black flash rush unleashed on hanami would’ve instantly killed Jogoat.

This episode was epic! To think that the animators are working under very tight schedule and in hard conditions, and still make episodes look so fucking good. THE black flash was just perfect.

For Black Flash: in the manga, there was a comment from Gege at the end of a chapter that compared Hanami and Jogo. He said that Jogo is more powerful regarding his tecnique, cursed energy, ecc.. but hanami was tougher. He was able to withstand 5 black flashes from yuji in Season 1. If Jogo received a single black flash he would die instantly

The whole Yuji × Todo vs Mahito battle, Todo's necklace reveal, the "I'm You"~Yuji moment , Mahito's final transformation have become the most legendary/iconic moments out of all the anime of all time... We the manga readers had been waiting for a long time for those scenes to be animated... Even todo is always being delusional but he's the friend that we needed...i surprised the studio passionately to create the actual Takata's song... It's so hilarious, the song's melody was cheerful but when it played in the middle of fighting... The melody+lyrics made me cried a lil.. I'm not gonna lie thou... The way he put Yuji's picture in his necklace alongside with Takada's-Chan literally shows us how much he loves our boy Yuji😭 Mahito's in pathetic situation was literally a satisfaction... He finally got eaten by his own words.. the personification of the wolf and the rabbit enhanced the scenes even better... Yuji was looked like a true devil for a moment... Even thou Mahito isn't the main villain of this series but he's surely one of the well written villain characters out of all animes.. i fuckng hate him so much, he killed all the characters i loved

Todou getting back up just as a bluff to make Mahito think he was going to get swapped is why he's the goat, king of the big brain strats.

Todo's imagination is almost like a real domain expansion with the victim and viewers receiving a sure-hit effect of Takada dancing around 😂 Oh boy now i know where the season will end (manga reader here)

I think the thing I love most about JJK is just the amount of references it has to other stuff. And not even just to other anime, like I think there was a “The Thing” reference when Mahito’s head grows legs. Not to mention tons of Naruto references that I’ve noticed (like Gojo resembling Kakashi), or a scene with Megumi that mirrors Bleach’s first scene in episode 2. I could go on, it’s really cool.

Yuji's time lag attack Divergent Fist was developed as a bad habit when he was learning to use cursed energy but as he gained more control over his CE the lost the technique, however after his fight with Choso, Itadori can now control Divergent Fist!

Firstly I'm surprised that you remembered hakari but now that you have bought it up Hakari is not a Special Grade, Todo was referring to Yuta. There are only 4 Special Grade sorcerers Okkotsu Yuta, Tsukumo Yuki, Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo.

Revere curse technique cant work on todo cuz it cant heal injuries caused by mahito's technique since it effects the soul. So he either has a prosthetic hand or leave it as is, either way todo's technique doesn't work anymore

Basically Black Flash is just an event where applying cursed energy to an attack amplifies its strength by an exponent of 2.5 (like an attack that does 100 damage will do 100,000 damage when amplified by black flash, AND because the increase in power is exponential rather than multiplicative, the more powerful you are, the greater your strength is multiplied by the Black Flash) Of course, Yuji’s simple ability of having 2 impacts in one attack allows him to use Black Flash way easier than pretty much everyone else, and his increasing strength has made him that much more powerful as the series progressed. He’s already at 1st grade level without black flash, but he also has a technique that can instantly increase his strength by that much at a moments notice

The rabbit and wolf scene is really great because it plays on how Yuji says "No matter what form or name you have, I'll kill you" (essentially that) and shows EVEN as animals, Yuji will always hunt Mahito and make sure he kills him no matter what just for the fuck of it 💀

I'm glad Yuji has 2 older brothers that aren't only strong and beneficial for his training but bear this immense love for him (not saying the rest aren't like that towards him but...u know)

The fight was expected to last 2 episodes but it seems they managed it which might mean the last ep will be left in a good cliffhanger 😏😏

It doesn’t matter what kind of curse they are. Geto can absorb them if they meet the conditions. The conditions are something along the lines of if they’re a certain level weaker than him or if he gets them to submit. So theoretically yes he could use his technique on Mahito right now.

There's technically two meanings to Yuji's statement. Him and Mahito are the same but also opposites. Mahito kills people and doesn't keep count while Yuji kills curses and doesn't keep count. This though was more of a statement by Mahito in response to Yuji asking why he doesn't keep count of the people he kills, he doesn't even remember them. The main reason is Yuji says this is because as Mahito stated, they are natural enemies in the fact that they're so similar. Mahito said that he KILLS people without a second thought in the same way Yuji SAVES people without a second thought. They're opposites sides on the same coin.

to answer the black flash question, Gege has stated that a black flash is equal to 1 regular hit to the power of 2.5, and If i'm correct each consecutive black flash increases that exponent by 1 (might be wrong about that last part)

Snowy forest and wolves actually may imply sth, I forgot where I read this (fanbook or random interviews I'm not sure), I think Yuji's family originated from Hokkaido where is associated being a very snowy place and a mythology about wolf as an important god. And also for black flash, it's much stronger for those who are strong already, the math was a^2 (a is the current power output). So yeah if Sukuna does a blackflash it would be horrendous.

black flash hits the enemy for more than double the damage AND buffs you to 120% of your maximum power. the benefit is less about the damage and more about accelerating your growth or making you surpass bottlenecks in your training. a jujutsu sorcerer that has done a single black flash will always be ahead in power and growth vs that same sorcerer never having done one both Yuji and Nobara have shown the real benefits of black flash by quickly reaching the same level of power as Megumi with a confidence boost. also Mahito only reached his true form because of those 2 black flashes

Brooooo the animators...imagine they got 3 weeks instead of 1 week to work each episode and the production was given an extra 6 months total. I'd be happy to have seen JJK S2 starting in January if I knew the animators were proud of their workplace and knew they put their all into it. The episodes would probably be GODLIKE too.
