@@phir9255 if I remembered it correctly, it was Shinove that recommend DeepL to Roberu since he realized that Roberu has a lot of oversea fans during his Jump King stream.
@@HAJIMEDJ certainly more accurate than google, but it doesn't have any extra features like translating selected words underneath and giving multiple translations of a word with the indicators of how often they are used
What I have learned about speaking foreign languages from Vtubers is that you don't have to be fluent, you just speak loudly and enthusiastically and everyone will love it.
Imagine someone ask what time is it. Roberu : "What Time Is It" You : "It's now 11 PM" Roberu : "OH YES 7/11 I LOVE 7/11, CONVENIENCE STORE, OPEN 24 HOURS"
I love how often Vtubers will end their English sentences by shouting OK. As someone who is learning Japanese it seems like the equivalent of ending a sentence with Ne. Just an observation I've had.
I think it's more like「わかる?」since they want a confirmation that you understood waht they're trying to say, and "ok" is basically an international word at this point
I work with a lot of people who didn't learn english as a first language, and it seems to be pretty common, especially when talking with Indians or SE Asians. I think they're just aware they may be difficult to understand, so they want a quick confirmation they were understood. Or, a few people did that, then a lot of other people picked it up from them without the same intention.
man, holostars deserve so much more recognition. they always put a smile on my face and it's nice to see more translators join the community every day! thank you so much for these translations and helping with the spread of holostars :)
I think they would if they were just part of Hololive and able to collab with the girls on a regular basis, rather than being a separate group. I think that's why the guys in Nijisanji are much more successful.
And some of them are more fun than hololive. Roberu is a shining gem, you laugh even when you cant fully understand him, he is a showman and a lot of his collabs with other Vtubers are always fun (i really love when VOMS and him are collabing, its so freaking fun)
@@nekosinner9177 well... they did collab with HoloID before and it was amazing. Dunno, seems like hololive (or their fans, specially) still have the "idol" stigma where the girls shouldn't interacts with boys. I'm glad the HoloID fans are welcoming the holostars
@@botttttle try to join the morning stream in a couple of hours!! It's always a lot of fun. He's also streaming hitman 2, 1pm JST later so that'll be really entertaining :>
The chain of misunderstandings is amazing >"overseas fans recommend "DUOLINGO" " >Roberu misinterprets it as some kind of apple >"Is duoringo apple?" >foreign chat misinterprets it as the company Apple >"Yes duolingo is on apple and android!" >Roberu finally understands it's an app They managed to understand eachoher in the end but boy was it fun
He's picking up on the language pretty fast. He recognized a mistake and corrected it pretty quickly. Good on him. Hoping for more of these translated clips and to catch more of his archives when I can. Thank you for the tl!
His English is actually pretty impressive, I was surprised. Yeah he's using a translater but even then his pronunciation is great. I mean I spent almost half my life in Japan and I never bothered to learn more than the very basics and hardly that.
Guys, I need help explaining to my wife that I just found out I have a son. Also I wonder if I really emphasize he is a WINNING son will she take him in as well?
I dunno, seems like a reasonable reaction Or do you expect them to think like "he's asking about an apple, that must mean the name of a mobile app I just suggested sounds like "apple" in the language that I don't understand"?
every stream has me smiling the entire time. even if I can't understand much of what he says beyond moments like these, he's so joyful and funny it's impossible to leave the stream in a bad mood. thank you for translating this clip!!
Ahh it’s so beautiful that Roberu is always doing his best to reach out to his overseas fans and treat everyone equally. He’s such a lovely and fun person and it’s easy to see why he’s so popular
I always look for Roberu clips when I want to have a chuckle, the dudes a legend! Obvisiously there is a language barrier but I'd love him to play with Hololive EN... something fun and simply like 51 games on Switch! It's always a treat when Holostars stream with Hololive-ID too!!
I don't regret giving this ball of sunshine a shout out in my school presentation. I love him so much and I wish the best for him in the future. I'll be tuning in to the EN study stream for sure!
after 10 minutes of knowing this man, he's made me happy stim, giggle, cry out of pure joy (/srs), and caused me to age regress. this man is my everything. he is my winning son.
I don't know if Roberu watches these compilations or not, but we don't really use big kusa in normal conversation, just with vTubers and other fans online.
My brother only just got me into Hololive and Holostars! And man, I've got a ton of respect for these people not only learning a new language, but to do so on stream (basically in public)! Kudos, and I can't wait to see more :) You're definitely winning, son!!
thank for this clip that made me join the rabbit hole of holostars month and a half ago, thank you Roberu have a special place in my heart as he's the first one i (actually) know (i saw some izuru and aururan time to time but that time i didn't pay an attention much and didn't know holostars exist)
please tell me why it took until just now to discover the beauty that is the holostars edit: And no one was gonna tell me he has the best laugh in hololive? bruh
@Ярослав Л I mean I get when foreigners try to talk slower and more clearly when they communicate in order to not be misheard, but adding extra volume on top of it gives me a feeling the person thinks I'm a retiree
