Lipnitskaya is the youngest Russian athlete to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympics. Moreover, she is the youngest women figure skater to win a gold medal at the Olympics under modern rules. Lipnitskaya was 15 years and 249 days old when she competed in the team event.

She was the only one that could’ve rightfully challenged Yüna for the gold had she skated clean in the singles. When she didn’t, the judges had to outrageously over score Sotnikova to ensure a Russian win

I hate when they superimpose this fake “commentator” on top of the footage. He didn’t call it live, knows nothing about skating, and basically just lifted Scott Hamilton’s comments from this performance almost verbatim.
