YULO Carlos Edriel (PHI) - 2021 Artistic Worlds, Kitakyushu (JPN) - Qualifications Parallel Bars 

This was Yulo's leading performance during the Parallel Bars qualifications with 15.566 points. In the finals, China's Hu Xuwei won the Gold with a 6.600 difficulty while Yulo had only a 6.400 difficulty. The 24 year old Xuwei won also the Gold in the next event, the Horizontal Bars beating the Tokyo Olympic Champion Hashimoto of Japan. Yulo at 21 years of age and with more training and dedication can certainly win more gold in future competitions.

In my opinion, Carlos from the Philippines gave his fearless prowess in the field of gymnastics. He was frustrated the time he didn’t bag any medals from the Tokyo Olympics and vowed in return for vengeance in the coming Paris Olympics. He should frequently not bear on his mind of thinking “there should be next time, or it’s okay” but rather give all his 100% dedication and perseverance in his chosen sport and thinking always as if it was his last competition. He is not there yet in his top form but he continues to strive for that winning look that will make a niche for his name as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. Winning a medal in competition especially in the Olympics validates all our hardships in training, commitment, and complete devotion to excel in that chosen field.
