Years ago at about the age of 8, my Granny was visiting our family. I came home from school one day and when I entered to a wonderful aroma. It smelled like steak and something else. As I approached my Granny who was sitting at the dining room table eating what looked to be scrambled eggs and toast. It smelled so good I asked her for a bite. It was the best food honestly I had ever eaten. It tasted like a very full flavored steak and scrambled eggs. I was confused because I could tell from the texture that it wasn't just scrambled eggs. As I was chewing U said mmm Granny what is this?! She said "Brains Baby." I was like...chew, chew, swallow a little, stop chewing... "Like brains in your head?" She said, " Yes, but brains in a cow's head. " Emediatly I was sick to my stomach. Not because of the taste, but because of the idea of what I was eating. Granny just laughed, but I remember feeling a little out out with her. I vividly remember that almost 40 yrs later. As an adult, I can honestly admit it was one of the best bites of food I have ever tasted. I love, love steak and eggs to this very day because of the small bite of brains I ate. So if you can get over what your eating, try them! You just might like it!

I love the chicken sound. I grew up with chicken. I love listening to the roster. My mother dragged me at 5:00am, still dark to go to the city to big market 1 hour trip by train to buy pig belly, and I could hear the roster while we were walking in the street towards the bus stop. If I had money I would buy a farm, but not in California with all the fire.

My granny was a country gal and I saw her eating what I thought was scrambled eggs. She explained to me it was cow or goat brain. (Forgot which one) I have always been picky but after that I never ate ANYTHING my granny cooked ever again. Lol. She would always order pizza when I stayed at her house.

I followed your cooking for a long time. Your cookjng methode is just like my late wife. She also never measured the spices salt pepper. She just take the spices and put them in the pan. She made cowbrains a little diffrent. She steamed the brain first with some herbs like ginger and the like. She sliced the bráin in parts put them in some scrambled raw egg and fried them. Juicy !!

I miss eating cow brain. They used to sell them at Food-4-Less in the U.S. We used to steam it after seasoning it with just salt and pepper. It had a creamy texture and tasted like balut (Filipino word for eggs with the embryo inside). I always enjoy your videos, oun Sros! I haven’t been to Cambodia since 2010 and really miss the food.

I watched this one time on the strangest thing I ever ate. And they actually breaded the brain and deep fried it like a chicken breast for a sandwich and placed it on a yummy roll wirh pickle and the celebrity that ate it said it was their favorite dish. I heard brain is very soft and mushy like in the middle but when fried had a crispy outside. Interesting recipe!
