After listening to YCL's performances hundreds of times, I feel like I'm oneof the kids following the Pied Piper. He is that addictive and I am so happy!
Check out Michel Block's recording of this... amazing tone. There was a story of Bloch playing the Rach 3 at the I U concerto competition and blowing everyone's mind with the beauty.
I totally fell under his spell. He has a delicate touch that can create a rich variety of colors, and he excels at bringing out the lyrical side of the music. He lets the music be alive. I almost got seasick because of the 2nd mov's waves.😁
Yunchan Lim performance of "Scriabin" stuns the audience with his amazing ease and mastery at the piano! The feelings and emotions I felt as I listened to Lim play "Scriabin-Sonta No. 2" felt magical and I didn't want it to end! Yunchan Lim's delivery of this sensitive music creates excitement, gentleness, calm and desire to hear more of it! This young pianist is extraordinary! His talent is superb! This is a magnificent performance and "one of a kind!" Bravo!! Bravo!! Bravo!! Bravo!!
Remarkable talent. His years of hard work have been worth it. He is becoming the best of the best and if not already. His music brings beauty to the ears of the rest of us. World renown at 18!!
The man (as opposed to young man, as of early March this year - he's not a minor [which he was in the clip lol] anymore ha!) plays everything (that I've heard until now) like he was the one who composed it!
Another wonderful performance from Yunchan Lim. I wonder why The Cliburn has “cut” all his performances, starting with his Listz in 12 and then Hough, Couperin, Mozart, Bach and today this part . In total he has already garnered more then 14 million views of all his performances combined!
I have listened to many many many interpretations of this piece and can honestly say I can’t find someone else who plays as deep a level as Yunchan does… Try listening this this whilst taking a stroll - his music makes you see beauty all around. You will remember even the wind through your hair.
such a beautiful words! I looove his scriabin2-19 so much it's totally different song with others. Mesmerizing, magical, captivating. Makes me concentrate. I cant do anything with listening this. But stroll bgm would be great at the same time.
The Liszt etudes were my earworm when I visited a beautiful resort surrounded by huge trees from a forest and a gurgling stream. When I was looking at the trees, I could hear the twelfth etude coming alive, enhancing the majesty of the trees, the colours of the leaves in the sunlight. I saw another similar comment by another fan. She was visiting a Italian city and her experience of traipsing through every nook and corner while marveling at the beauty around her was further enhanced while she was listening to one of his recitals (I forgot which one, but it's not the Cliburn's).
@@eggizgud thanks for sharing! That was probably me as well😆, I went to Rome for Yunchan’s recital and saw the city in a whole new light whilst listening to his Années de pèlerinage Italie💘 long walks with classical music (esp Yunchan’s) is fast becoming my favourite pastime!
I hope I can play like him when I'm older. His sense of style and smooth approach is so satisfying to even watch, and the crystal clear but warm and emotive sound speaks or itself. Again, I have disagreed with some judges previous decisions of the Cliburn, but they got his one right!
And what I found so sweet is that he was quoted saying how he enjoys the 'passion' of the audience! My limited experience is that the Seoul audiences are the most passionate- compared to Berlin, Hamburg, Tokyo and London ...
Very good Scriabin touch. Shaped well. He opens the door to the Genius of early Scriabin sound world……can’t wait to hear more Scriabin performed by YL…..gonna’ be a ride
Great! I love this sonata, Scriabin is moving from his early period so much in this Op 19. He gives you this long languid 1st mov, so dreamy and indefinite, really shifty barline. But the piano sounds full cuz of the intricate left hand. Then follows with what? toccata? etude? I love how the russian sound comes out so strong here. Lim reminds me of Gould in the way I hear voices I never heard before but there is the line over the note, it is a voice. I love the way Lim rushes and slows, this is impetuous music, almost rough. I give him massive credit, he makes the piano sing and such nice tones. I would love to hear him play late Scriabin...
Have you watched YC's recent play in Chopin festival? Absolutely beautiful performance! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-puosrHvBjFs.html
@@sydneyk3979 Not yet, just some Cliburn performances, Bach and Rachmaninoff. This Scriabin is a treat and so well played. I bet his Chopin is fantastic too.
@@trevjr He didn't play Chopin there. He played Brahms 4 Ballads, Mendelssohn Fantasy in f-sharp minor, Scriabin Piano Sonata no 2 g sharp minor, Beethoven Eroica variations op. 35 and played Scriabin 4 preludes op. 37, Rachmaninoff Lilacs and Scriabin's Album leaf beautifully for 3 encores.
His recent playing of Scriabin in Chopin festival was so beautiful and the sound was different as he played Kawai there instead of Steinway - deeper and more dreamy. I really loved it!
Thanks to you, unfamiliar songs that I heard for the first time now smell like flowers. Looking for another song by Scriabin and listening! It's amazing and thank you. It's an honor to know a great interpreter.❤
He is just amazing. For me, Yunchan is the closest to Horowitz that I've heard. He has a full palette of colors, wide dynamics, is not afraid to play softly - and creates tension in the music.
Bravo so gifted Yunchan Lim for this nterpretation of Sonata-Fantasy from Scriabin This is one of the most emotionally impactful and beautiful short pieces of music I've ever heard; Scriabin's distinctive sound is other-worldly and definitely is ecstatic.Totally unique. One has only to hear the first bar to know the composer. Scriabin labored mightily over this composition which, to me, has everything one could ask for. The ending is just stupendous. And the whole piece is totally unusual, outstanding, with multiple creative harmonies. that's why I often listen him to inspire me as a major reference.Thank you so much Yunchan! ― Yan Ayrton, a YOUNG innovative classical composer in development and evolution from the XXI century..It is time to discovery my music. “I am God! ^^ 🙏
Even Scriabin is both a tempestuous and delicate composer, the rythm is a so important element in his music: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3... Great performance!
