What can I tell you. I really admire Jean Jacques in Yuri on Ice. He's really strong willed (and most of the time over-confident I have to admit). But what made me love him is when he realized in Episode 11 that he's not alone. He doesn't have to be overly arrogant because even if he fails, his fiance is there for him. His fans are there for him. It's his realization that he is not all by himself, but instead he is surrounded by people who will lift him up in his darkest times.
This really hit me right in the feels, and I want to be there for you as well. I have some of the best supportive fanbase ever and I realize this from the concerts I did and meeting fans in real life, and from the comments I read from RU-vid, Twitter and Facebook. I hope I can be your King J.J. and inspire you even in the lowest of days.

What I love about Yuri on Ice is that although the audience is rooting for Yuri the whole way, we are never made to dislike any of the other characters, they all have their own distinct personalities with good sides and bad sides, but because Yuri sees the good in everyone, we do too

Sabrina Murray Ikr everybody hates JJ but he's such an amazing character,he's fought all the way up here and believes in himself in a way that is truly admireable.Je's just as anxious as Yuri but he conceals it and keep going.I absolutely love this character and wish people would appreciate him more

Sabrina Murray I see why others like him but I just can't like him. He reminds me of Draco from Harry Potter. The attitude, the cockiness, the way he acts way more cool and confident than he is. All Dracoish. I do respect you for liking him though 😊 Plus Draco is kinda likeable at the end of Harry Potter.

Guys JJ isn’t even bad,I feel like people are to quick to judge him.Hes actually a great character.And that one scene where it showed him go through all that emotional stuff...That had me in tears😭. I honestly love his song,it’s so beautiful and emotionally filled and it’s just so greath😭😂

I always loved JJ. The last episode just broke me completely. To see how hard he's worked to be where he is, how important support is to him and his determination to deliver every time. It's truly admirable. Self confidence like that is so hard to find, especially amongst all the pressure

the last dance of JJ was the most emotional part of the anime imo (i dont ship yuriXyuri), just skating knowing he is not as good as he used to be, but all the fans still cheering him rips my heart.

I love the music, it sounds so uplifting But I just can't bring myself to care that much for JJ. He has his inspiring moments, but.... I don't know. I'm gonna shut up before I end up saying something potentially bad haha

Valon Ariga I didn't really care for him either. His arrogance was extremely unattractive and people felt bad for him during his free skate performance, but all I thought was that is what he deserved cause of how he was acting. And the fact that he has a song named after him called King JJ, my god 😂 viktor is way better then him and is no where near this egotistical

I feel like his arrogance was a hit or miss trait for the audience, and I agree, it was really extra at times. But I honestly love JJ. His confidence could be overwhelming but his underlying traits are really amazing. He's really dedicated to his skating and the fact that he persevered through all that tremendous pressure is just inspiring. I think it was just a nice change of pace after seeing incompetence throughout the skaters (Which is absolutely normal) and having a person who is -excruciatingly- confident in themselves. You have to also think about the shit JJ's been through where he has been denied multiple times to be himself, and so now when he can actually show his colors and strengths, he'll show it proudly. -Also JJ does charity work during the off seasons what a good kiddo- I can understand why a lot of people hate him, but in my eyes, he's a good boy ^-^ -Also you can't complain about JJ having a song named after him when Yuri has a song named for him and an anime lmao-

I honestly agree, JJ fast became a favourite after his initial introduction. It ended up with me actually relating a lot to how pressured he felt, as well as never being allowed to be himself. And now here I am hoping he has a part in the second season >.
