Whenever i go into the comment section of these most underrated yet most masterpiece-ful albums all i see is ppl agreeing, wishing each other good day, and love! this is truly what real music sounds like and does to humans. Have a wonderful day everybody.
Papa Shimada I read the comments but I never put that together like you said but you’re right. Well they say MUSIC brings people together. Thanks for the observation!!!!
Hello Jonny - didn't expect to see anyway I know here? It's Joe Purnell by the way - you probably don't recognise my work account. Yes just seen the Ford Focus - took me a while. Will be seeing these at Dimensions festival this year.
Yo Joe, How tricks buddy? I just looked at the line-up for Dimensions!!!! WOW! You must go see my mate Radioactive man play Live. Pure ELECTRO at its best. I went to Croatia last year for Suncebeat festival. Was amazing fun. Would love to go back.
Kml Dr. Dunno man I think they're about the same. What I usually do is sift through my spotify discovery playlist and then go to youtube with the ones I liked, then also search youtube's suggestions on the side. Pretty good way to find new stuff to listen to (I basically never run out of good new music).
Masterpiece!!! I'm Brazilian and your music sounds like Brazilian music and that's not to mention the incidences of the Afro-Brazilian religious that you use in this album ... Brazil stands to applaud your album ... Congratulations!! Obrigado, Yussef !!
Does anyone else hears Yussef on song Remembrance at 18:52 - 18:53 making little stop (dunno, maybe mistake) and saying Aaaaaa? Such awesome moment, at one second you think he is out, but a sec later he gets back in groove, powerful
The drummer is a serene god. Such a majestic playing with no any overforcage or overstrain for effect, the things i hate most of so called "great" rock drummers. The whole album is a kind of new face of modern jazz. Impressed.
It's past 3am and I was suffering through a anxiety attack as I was trying to study my Indonesian course on Duolingo. My attack lurched my progress and stole my focus away from me, I tried every kind of music I had in arsenal; from dark ambience to 90s hip hop beats alongside some breathing techinques I searched up but that combination turned out to be futile on my part. It wasn't until I remembered I that I saved this video, so I clicked back and relaxed. I'm feeling great right now! I've always loved Jazz but I haven't utilized it's use in a decompressing setting in a long time. I'm feeling like my self again, all much thanks to Yussef Kamaal's unique demonstration of beautiful Jazz music! Cheers y'all!
That opening was simply exquisite !!👌 😍 👏. The incantations fused with all the different sounds transported me to my motherland Zambia 🇿🇲!!! Beautiful 😍 stuff!
Was fortunate to ride with an uber driver that had Yussef playing. This music right here! Is what I'm talking about! Please continue to make more my brother. Simply awesome.
Man, this is not OK. (Yeah yeah don't feed the troll, whatever.) It's not OK to shit on people for liking things. It doesn't matter if _you_ think it's a good album or not, dude's allowed to like it. Anyway, since you have such a great taste in not bland music, what's something you'd recommend? I won't open links but I will look them up on this site.
Hell.. I'm an avid jazz rock collector, and this is the first time ever, I thinks.. that I was in doubt abt the year of this VERY fine music.. It sounded, (apart from some "modern" drum roll's", as we were right back in the 70'ies.. THNX for enlightening me !
This album is a masterpiece! It connects jazz, fusion, electronics in elegant manner, giving a sound that fits equally well with my living room and with a club with live music. The track "Yo chavez" is my favorite.
@@Koraxus that mean listen to the same kind of stuff all the time so the machines will only recommend the same crap over and over. i didn't end up here by only clicking stuff I'd heard before. The algorithm led them here because it was new. It led us here cos we were on the path
Hey listeners.Try 'Sly' off Herbie Hancock's 1973 LP Headhunters for an historical reference point.I've purchased this Yussef Kamaal CD and I really dig it, but don't forget to familiarize yourselves with the pioneers of jazz/fusion so you can hear the influences on these young guys.
This album showed up right on time. I'm blowed and just erased a ton of shit. The perfect vibe for positive motivation. Perfect mix of masculine & feminine. This is definitely being added to rotation. Thank you.
Oh yes. Some of the best new jazz I've heard in a few years. Magical drums and bass, fine fine keyboards. I love the improvisational feel, with all the perfection of fine musicianship. I can listen to this album all day.
So good, love the echoes of classic Motor City techno and house in the string work too. Or even 'Deep Burnt' by Pépé Bradock, but that sampled Freddie Hubbard Little Sunflower, so what goes around comes around. The bass tone is soo satisfying. And drumming is sublimely delicate and funky.
I just found by chance during a search ...... I took a slap ..... Good night owl sound as I like, I immediately imagine myself driving at night in the streets of my capital (Paris).
My body naturally transmutes this energy into a physical manifestation of the vibrations, that is DANCE. This energy is the energy of creature, it turns old cogs in our spirit. This is what life is about.. feeling that SPIRIT. This force that moves through us into music into moving our limbs and digits. Our bodies make love in motion with every sound vibration that caresses our body. It pushes our phyche through the tunnel of consciousness like a train moving through a mountain. THANK YOU ALL FOR FEELING SPIRIT AND CONVEYING IT TO US!!
I rarely comment on RU-vid, but I have to. To me this is mature, classy, and intriguing. Also fun. Sparks alot of feelings/moods when I hear it, actually. Skills upon skills here. Tasteful and a bit on the experimental side. The bass work is awesome so are the drums. Jazz, HipHop, Jungle-ish. One could "chill" to it, but when I hear it I am too busy listening. I have heard several albums that dance around this idea, but none compare imho. Great Stuff!
Was meaning to listen to Yussef Lateef and clicked on this by mistake. What a find, one of the best jazz albums I've heard that was released in recent years for sure.
I can’t remember how l first came across this but it opened up a whole new world of contemporary jazz for me. First, the UK scene, then the US. I have since discovered everything Kamaal Williams and Yussef Deys do is great but nothing tops this album. I hope they get to play together again one day. Most musical drumming l ever heard
I understand it as: do whatever comes from your heart. I find it to be the esence of art. In other words: there is no need to use other peoples work as reference in order to make your art valuable, it already is.
this is surprisingly amazing , not because of the doubt of quality of the musicians , but only by the simple fact that this was made in the post "golden jazz / funkk music era" ... Congratulations to everyone who made this project possible!
