people who watch current anime dont realize this is from early 1992 in the manga and late 92 in the anime and its gorgeous and for its time great storytelling with genkais death the characters growth since the tournament started and getting her power feeling guilty over her death for not being in time and taking her power away and toguros desire as we find out after the fact...its not like the most interesting fight ever but its very personal and defined and its great for what it was and its time...without a fight like this stuff in later series wouldn't ever exist..hats off to this fight changed history... literally

people look at anime fights from the past as just videos but the stories that were built into the fights is what builds the drama and hype..genkais dead yusukes grown a lot in power and character since meeting toguro it all built to this moment ..its a big moment in his life both morally and to survive wise and we find out toguro's motivations too..it aint just 2 people brawling...these kids today act like these older shows didnt have deep meaning behind their fights like my hero or black clover or fairy tail do lol..goes to show they didnt watch them..smdh...they weren't just random fights like not even basic shonnen like dragonball was simple fights...goku vs roshi had narrative weight...so did goku vs tao and the red ribbon army and pilaf and tien and piccolo and jr....goku vs krillin is so good cause its 2 boys who grew up together loving to fight and train and both being disciples battling it out testing their power...it isn't some serious fight but it does test their bond a little...but they dont let it break their freidnship..

Fairy tail is it’s own series. Black Clover and Fairy tail has its fair share of things. Fairy tail story development is often lacking and Black Clovers characters can come off as too generic sometimes. Their both good series but I think their better off watching something like Hunter x Hunter
