789Dreamymimi789 I know right? everytime I go to free skate were I live, there are always a few really good skaters, but most are just amateurs having fun (aka me). These kids skate so well though.
I went yesterday and I was the hold on to the side and waddle person. My brothers were trying to teach me how to actually skate but I just trip and flop over. lol I don't think I was born to skate, I believe I was a deer in my past life, I basically look like Bambi.
I immediately started thinking about one of the things I am relatively good at and have always loved to do: drawing. I thought about what make us love a craft, pursue it, try to master it. Our first encounter with the peace the craft brings to us. That light among the darkness of the hardships of life. Therapeutic. I thought that I love to draw with my niece. To continue the legacy of the process. And I saw Yuzuru as a keeper of his craft. As a whale in the ocean surrounded by little companion fishes. Protecting the sea. Wishing that the water and the life that allowed him to live will remain pure forever. And I cried. A lot. Beautiful video.
Well I am glad Yuzu went out to a public rink and had some fun/relaxation that time. Cause now, he wouldn't dare (or rather wouldn't be able to anyways) go to one since his popularity has soared even higher since then.
imagine ur going ice skating for the first time just to have a fun afternoon and u see a world famous figure skater there LMFAO i would die of embarassment
MC the Failed Author it's even harder if you couldn't do your sport for two years because of your injured legs and now start again and suddenly all the small kids are farer then you and jumping already double loop while you're still learning a double toeloop lol...
MC the Failed Author they start when they re little it takes time&effort Rome isn't built in a day. ice skating isn't something that you would learn completely in a day.
i skate there. and i wasn't there that day. i find this video today, a year later. i see him live at the skatecanada 2015 competition, one month later and think, 'goddamn i wish i could see him practice one day.' ... the universe hates me.
shizukagozen777 Umm they clearly screamed his name after his loop at 1:37 lol when you heard "yabai" that was moments after they already screamed his name at 1:53
His quad loop is a thing of beauty. I had the chance to see it last year in Canada at open practice during competition. I can't forget that beautiful jump in front of my eyes **
I can just imagine his coach being like... ""Okay, you've practise enough for today. Why don't you go home and have a rest?" Yuzuru: "Yeah, okay..." *secretly sneaks off to public ice rink to get more practise" x'D
kennikitty here he didnt do quad loop ^^ maybe you can watch some figure skating technical element introduction videos and learn little by little how to count the jumps' rotations :)
it's damn irritating with these people commenting that Mr.Hanyu is showing off here. For your information, he was there TO TEST HIS NEW BLADES which he bought/fixed in Tokyo in 2015, so he just went to a near ice rink for a short-time test. He skates fast, and needs lot of spaces to land his jumps and other elements, why would he choose a public ice rink to "show off" then? he was there for some minutes to test the blades whether they're comfortable to use or not. THAT'S WHY he jumped 3 Loops (because this is an edge jumps) and chose a single lutz for a toe jump. After he confirmed that he's comfortable with the blades, HE WENT OUT OF THE RINK. Please understand this. Thanks.
Oh nice, thanks for explaining. I was really wondering what he did there. Not what he did there in general but what he did there looking this uncomfortable and having no space to jump without risk. I'm overall amazed he did jump at all. Even if I could jump *lol* I couldn't do it in such a space with little kid's. I'd be too worried that something might happen to them if I slip. Since even pros can slip at any time, really. But if it was a test, he had to jump and he did it carefully. His overly concentrated face makes perfect sense, too. :)
After seeing 2:16 (lmao shoutout to the kids who yelled "yoOOOO" after he landed that) I realized that meeting yuzuru in a public rink would be one of those moments where this one talented guy sort of lightly does a triple axel and a combination spin before completing one round like it's absolutely nothing.
WHY DOES EVERYONE SKATE SO WELL?!?! I MEAN, MOST OF THE KIDS CAN SKATE BACKWARDS AND IM HERE IN MY BRITISH ICE RINK WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE FACEPALMING THE ICE
@@littlenana4888 i live there! not enough professional standard rinks is the problem, if there were as many rinks as soccer stadiums Britain would have many skate champions haha there's a few though.
how are these japanese kids skating around like nothing happened when there's a freaking olympic champion skating next to them? I would be losing my mind if I were there lol :)) but seriously what is Hanyu senshu doing in a crowded public rink?
Ursus Eugene it is from 2015 if i'm not wrong, after he changed his skates' blades and went to try them out because this ice rink is near the blade shop :)
Ursus Eugene and the japanese people really treasure what's so called as "Respect People's Privacy" so they maintain being respectful and well-behaved, so that Yuzuru can do his things relaxly.
Personally, I've always loved the idea of someone really talented doing their thing in a public place/where most people do it as a hobby/most are average or worse; like Yuzuru here, or a really talented singer playing karaoke, a pro dancer at the club, etc, like an undecover celebrity, just enjoying their passion without pressure. Of course, the moment they and Yuzuru here got recognized...I really loved 2:18 -the fact that he streched out his arms made so beautiful. ^^
i'm like 80% sure he had his arms out to kill his momentum enough for it to be a single toe loop instead of something more- if you look at the height that he got, he went into it with enough strength to have gotten an easy triple.
Just came here a few seconds after watching a vid of a concert pianist who was waiting for a plane at an airport, walk over to a piano (there was a bar in the airport lounge that had a piano, apparently) and start playing Rachmanimoff, everyone just stopped and listened and clapped furiously at the end. Lovely to see
Maheedee Man I went with my friends last week and that was me 😔 I just remained next to the rail to practice but as soon as my friends coaxed me away from it I FELL. There were a lot of people skating there, but these kids were better than all of them. 😑 I feel so shameful.
I wonder if that day was something like this... People: OMG OLYMPIC CHAMPION YUZURU HANYUUU. stay cool stay calm we can't disturb him... Yuzu: skating people: Yuzu: does a jump People: WOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOA nope can't hold it in
@@peternewbranch9263 I'm pretty sure kids have different mindset than adults. They actually tend to idolize someone who amazes them. They make them their role model, someone they wanna imitate in the future. Unlike adults who tend to feel envious first before actually idolizing someone.
Aww that one kid who was like YUZU YUZU xDD god imagine what a hero he must look like to these kids who really love skating and he's right there throwing triples If I was a kid, I'd be the annoying one like AH TEACH ME
okay but like. even if he was just showing off, which he wasn't according to some comments, would it be bad? those people were having the time of their life you don't get to see stuff like this everyday FOR FREE
Old video but I just discovered this man and have been pretty obsessed with his skating. I think it's really cute how after he did his moves it got a lot of the kids trying to do spins and jumps, he motivated so many of them by just being there.
In the public skate sessions at my rink it's really hard to even find the room to do a waltz jump let alone doubles and triples! There is no order and the skaters go wherever they want and I cannot practice. :( I like how this rink is set up:)
Well, skating is also like Japan's most loved sport, it's really big over there just like Football is big on the UK! So is normal for them to be better prepared when it comes to figure skating
What would I do if he came to the same ice rink I was in? I would either scream, die, cry, faint, have a panic attack... maybe in some other world I'd be able to skate with him without falling on my face every three seconds. Maybe...
jacki scott It will be in Japan, the men short program will start at 19:05. I'm from Mexico, so approximately will be 4:00 a.m here. Where are you from?
jacki scott Yes, from Mexico to Germany. And from Germany to Japan 8 hours difference. So you can watch the men short program at 11:00, if you have the chance of watch it on TV.
Oh God, I feel you :( I think there are some ice rinks, classes and all that stuff here In Brazil. But eh, the cost of everything is absurd (even more in Brazil for obvious reasons. But still... :[ ). Maybe one day.
