Searched YVR to Waterfront and this was the first video to come up. Great and thorough to show the signs needed and kiosk and other stations that you pass through. This was exactly what I was looking for in a video. Thanks!

What is the difference between buying 2 tickets (for my wife and I) vs. buying the Compass Card? We will be traveling from the Airport to the Waterfront station (Cruise terminal) for just one single one-way trip. Is the fare cheaper using the Compass Card vs. the tickets, or vice-versa? Also from what I read I believe this will be a 2 Zone trip (Airport to Waterfront) but I did not see an option for a 2 Zone fare as you were going through the prompts at the Kiosk...Thanks in advance!

The difference is that have to pay extra for the card vs the tickets however the card you can keep using as long as you have credit on it. Cheapest options is the ticket since its one way. Yes it is. Keep looking, im sure you will find zone 2

Going to Vancouver for the first time from the US. Our flight does not get in until 9 PM. How safe and well-lit are the areas traveling to the waterfront station?

Completely safe and nicely lit. Lots of people in that area but if you are taking the train you dont need to go that far i would suggest getting off at Granville City Center. Its in the heart of downtown and you can access most places from there. Just be careful of the snow.

We are staying at the EXchange hotel Vancouver right there on Howe street so I think the waterfront station will be perfect. They said it's a short walk to the hotel. Thanks for the info, I'm visually impaired and wanted to make sure it was well lit. 👍

Very nice video! What's the differences between stored and compass pass? Which one should I buy for 3 days trip in Vancouver?

@getlosttogetfound986 5 лет назад
Thanks a lot. Basically they are the same thing. You need to purchase a compass card in order to store value into it. It is very self explanatory when you are in front of the screen which makes it easier. When ever you are done with the compass card you can always redeem what ever money is left in it.

Thx for this informative vid. How/where do u get a refund if theres a balance? If your traveling different zones how does the mthly pass work? I am planning approx a wk stay in Vancouver/richmond and would like to take public transportation to places

Thanks! If you need a refund- most customer service takes place at stadium station near the top exit, including lost and found. As far as the monthly pass goes - It depends on the zones you are travelling too - that is how much you will be paying for. Keep in mind that-you will paying extra for the (compass card/monthly card) $3 i believe before the total monthly cost. From Richmond to Vancouver you will need a 2 fare zone pass and you can go back and forth including into Burnaby. As a bonus info - you can use your c/c to tap in and out of buses/trains but it will cost you more on the long run. Hope this helps! Enjoy Vancouver as there are lots of things to do.

Where do I get down if my hotel is Carey Center Hotel

If its the UBC location you are referring to - which is far for downtown, id say get off the train at Granville station and google from there but if im not mistaken you take the #4 or #14 UBC bus which takes you all the way there. Safe ride:)

is that for the ferry to Vancouver Island?

If you go vise versa from downtown to the airport - It will get you closer to the ferry terminal but you still drive to the ferry terminal

I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherland, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country.
