Well 85s also have the faster acceleration then the 125 the 125 is gonna have the faster too speed but the 85 is got the more power band kick and acceleration i speak from experience with havin a 85 and racing a 125
For those who don't know, different yrs of the Yz125's have different gear ratios. My 99 Yz125 only has 5 gears. My 03 Yz85 has 6 gears and runs circles around my 125. However, my yz125 does have more torque, but that means nothing in a bike race. My 125 tops out at 64mph and my 85 tops out at 73mph. Now, had that dude's yz125 been an 02 or newer, the 85 probably would've been eaten alive. The 85 came out in late 02 so, if its not a bike around that year, the 85 is more than likely gonna blow it out of the water. Its truly a state of the art bike.
I never gonna understand how those 85 can produce more power sometimes than a 125 i mean i see some out there and they’re mean compared to a 125 love the 125 to. I do own a kx250 because i weight 240 pounds but if i was skinnier i will own a 125 or even a 85 theyre look super fun and for some reason i love more the sound of those little engines🔥
@@trailridersandfun5798 there’s no replacement for displacement and just because a bike has 5 gears vs 6 doesn’t make it slower. The key is gear ratios.
That all depends on the year of the bike! My 2003 Yz85 tops out at 73mph & my 1999 Yz125 tops out at 64mph! A 2003 Yz125 vs a 2003 Yz85, YES. The 125 will win everytime.
I'm a 13 year old and I've had a test ride on a yz250x and a wr450 and that 450 has heaps of power, and isnt as much fun as the 250x, stick with 2 stroke, way better than 4 stroke
85 and 125 have the same acceleration because the bike has the same power/weight ratio. The same acceleration provided the pilot does not exceed 130lbs for the 85 and 170lbs for the 125.
Owen Smith I wish I woulda followed that!! I knew how to use a clutch from my 4-wheeler but then I jumped straight to a yz125! The first 2 days were hell and not fun, but I'm finally getting to the point where I'm doing good and it's becoming really fun
yes its my first dirt bike.. my brother and I bought it together and he is 20 so we had to buy something strong. but i was riding a lot of 85 before and 85 is too small and not powerfull enough for me
Caleb Guidroz yz85's fly they can go 100 if u have a long enough straight and if u are going hard out because a yz125 goes way over 100 i think it goes 140
jonnyhotpants 125 is better all around but a 85 is a million times funnier just throw a big boar on it!!! Just remember there is no fun in throwing a big bike around!!! I'm 5'11" and I have more fun on a pit bike then my 125
