It sure is mate! 🙌 I’ve seen a couple of videos with the Snowmobile motors fitted up to karts - look like awesome fun, especially the two strokes! Unfortunately they would be a little impractical for racing (although fun). They’re quite a bit bigger + heavier than the MX motors. The CVT would potentially not be an advantageous - as the engine braking with downshifts help setup for the apex’s. Power wise they’re reasonably competitive, this YZ450 puts out around 60hp. I appreciate the comment and you’ve got me watching snow mobiles on RU-vid now! 😂😂👍

Thanks Logan 👍😎 check out my CRF450 kart (other videos on my channel) for much tidier driving - this was a test race for our YZ kart. In regard to the gearing, yes and no. If you gear too tall you get no acceleration on tighter tracks - gear too short and you have no top end. There’s a fine balance for our racing 😎

Grass karts are essentially a shifter/circuit chassis 30-32mm, with chassis modifications (bars), steering alterations, wheel/beadlocks changes, gear shifter changes and then a full power plant from an MX/SX bike. Thanks mate 👍 You definitely can do in paddles. Paddles have been tried and tested (cable and hydro) and most seem to opt for the traditional shifter style. In theory, you’d think paddle would be the best option but most drivers race with one hand, so the timing makes little difference. The main thing is predictability for your shifts and the ability to grab the clutch with the shifter (as the clutch lever is attached to the shifter). With the traditional shifter you know where it is at all times, it’s straight up and down (requiring only one hand) and the clutch is at a finger tip. Hope that makes sense! Cheers, Andy

Haha thanks dude. Yeah, I apologised because I thought he was going to stay wide... unsure where he was heading, but it wasn't for the apex The 250 karts go really well. I was in a new kart (father in laws new build) so had to be weary of the pace by comparison to the 250. I didn't want to clip him too! Are you located in New Zealand? Hi Jim. Haha, yep! Although quads are awesome fun, they aren’t really comparable to our karts - completely different forms of racing. For what it’s worth, quad bikes are 1. Heavier 2. Slower (quads have detuned motors by comparison to their MX counterparts) 3. You can handle much faster in a kart. We have raced against quads on more than one occasion, they have never been quicker than a kart... If you like quads, you’d have a blast in these! I appreciate the comment though! 👍
