I noticed that too Yzma from both movies (Emperor's new groove and Kronk's new groove) feels like a heartless character Yzma from this series feels more hearted, with more feelings and yeah, like you said before, basically Heinz Doofenshmirtz
@mellemadswoestenburg1296 then again, you have to wonder if she was raising him to be an unlikable emperor so she can take his throne more easily. Because after his supposed death in the first movie, no one really care that he died
@@ChannelChingCong oh definitely. I feel like that's kind of the point. After she says that Kronk remarks "yeah you would think he would have turned out better."
@@ChannelChingCong good point. But if you rewatch the movie and show you notice that Yzma is also very self absorbed and selfish. So kuzco really was like her till he met Pacha
0:47 I like how this implies that, even though he always pulls the wrong one and hurts her, she lets him keep pulling the levers just cause he enjoys it, oddly wholesome.
@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 For clarification a running gag in the show is that kronk always gets to pull the lever to open the secret lab entrance, but he always pulls the wrong one which usually is trapped and harms Yzma with slapstick comedy in some way, yet regardless of this fact she continues to let him pull the levers every time
@@JamesZ32100 Yeah. Anyway, could I please for instruction for making an awesome antagonist for Animated feature movie (rated PG) or Animated tv Series (also rated PG)?
Oh, I'm not fully sure she's entirely human. Woman has all the muscle definition of a dehydrated green bean and yet she's constantly cartwheeling/flipping all over the place and, in the movie, she bent a fork in half with her thumb and full-on split kick Kuzco and Pacha.
I imagine she was also his royal advisor. It isn't hard to imagine that if he was a wiser, less petulant rular than his son that she may have actually liked him. Her bids for power may have only escalated when a self absorbed manchild took the throne and made a mockery of the seat of office. Between her megalomania, scheming nature, and having an idiot on the throne (easy prey), she may have been inspired towards her treasonous ambitions.
Considering the fact that she served Cuzco's family for generations and never tried to overthrow anyone else other than him, I'd say that Cuzco's father was a lot easier to get along with than Cuzco himself.
If we go by some of the stuff dropped from Kingdom of the Sun, it's highly implied what really made her bitter was raising Cuzco which, considering how he was before getting llama'd, makes sense.
@@angelangelis8362why couldn’t she do something else other then raise him since she was becoming bitter? Kinda feels messed up since he didn’t ask her to raise him and from the movie she was trying to do his job and he told her that. I wonder how she raised him though.
His parents were gone I'm guessing at a young age. Since she served the royals as a high rank advisor she was the only one who could teach him to be emperor. We don't know how she raised him. Even if she was strict all the other attendants spoiled him. I think she raised him as an emperor not a son it shows how nervously professional she talks to him at the start of the movie.
If you watch carefully Yzma was the one who raised Kuzco so all his negative attributes can be assumed were her doing because Yzma really is a bad person no matter how fun she is to watch. That and her original goal was probably power behind the power like what Long Fei did to the King of Ba Sing Se. But when that stopped being an option she went straight to plan B murder.
I still can't believe Eartha Kitt did this amazing voice work while she was fighting colon cancer and then passed away on Christmas Day. Eartha Kitt had a legendary career and absolutely demolished this role from beginning to end. RIP to one of the greats! ❤
Plus, it makes sense for the mother of a beautiful girl in court to pester her daughter about using her looks/friendship with the emperor to gain power.
@@jonquilgemstone wasn't Yzma actually not the most attractive by beauty standards? at least as a teenager? I remember that in one episode she mentioned that back in her schooldays she was super thin, used to wear a brace and classmates would call her names. Unless, she had a glow up once she became an adult.
@@Lee-cr6xb Actually, it's the opposite. She was very attractive as a teenage girl ( as you can see in the episode "Cool summer" and then in the academy (which means she was older) she was this super extra thin thing with braces and ponytails. However, I think she's stunning at her older ages too. No one can beat her clothing style. 😅
@@malachiallen1517 watch or read any other sonic show / comic. They quite literally ruined nearly every character's characterization in that show, but they did that in TTGO and that new Ben 10 series- so i guess its normal to ruin characterization nowadays.
Me too. Although, this is probably back centuries ago, when humans used to live over 500 years old. I don't know what happened to make us die earlier in today's era. Probably all the murders, unhealthy lifestyles and accidents from recent technology.
@@admiraladriel8781 There were, don't get me wrong, but there were less people on the planet back then. Probably about an entire country worth of people if not less. And that also meant less people who wanted to kill others for selfish reasons. Although that's a very good question. I'm glad you asked that and brought your information to the table.
"Yzma, nice for a whole night, that's something I gotta see!" This is how all charismatic and cocky heroes should react to villains trying to be good for once 🤣
ngl I think she wanted to save Kuzco from the Imposter for two reasons 1. There is a small VERY VERY SMALL part in her evil heart that does like him 2. NO ONE, manipulates the emperor for their own selfish gain except for her Edit 3.Imposter was disrespecting the last emperor that she not only served, but was a friend to her 4. Similar to reason 2, in regards to Kuzco its a "aint no one killing that b*tch but me" situation
And possibly out of respect for Kuzcos father. She said she was friends with him and some little crap pretending to be him was probably insulting to her.
@@MillieBlackRose Also true I mean she did try killing Kuzco....several times....but again its likely outta respect for his dad and his memory. And a "no one is killing that bitch but me' situation
There's also one episode where Yzma was casually eating chips and suddenly said something like "I miss Kronk". Too bad I don't remember the name of this episode.
She's probably the only person who was a mom to Kuzco. Maybe in a form of tough love because in the movie if she didn't have that llama potion Kuzco would be alone with no one to blame but himself if she didn't have it
You know, as a non fun fact: in the original dub Yzma's voice actor Eartha Kitt saddly passed from cancer same as Kuzco's Latin American dub actor, Jesús Barrero.
now i don't know what's going on with yzma but her being young or "anut chapa" is very nice because yzma looks old most of the time but her looking young and very beautiful is something I'm happy to see 😊
Are we ignoring the "I SERVED Kuzcos dad, I KNEW Kuzcos dad, Kuzcos dad was a FRIEND of mine"? I NEED a prequel movie explaining Kuzcos dads and Yzma's relationship since seemingly Kuzco is the only emperor she tried to overthrow in her career as advisor and she and the former emperor seemed to have been friends as stated by her so Disney get onto that!
She was part of the palace she had to have known him, i think its canon that she looks so worn because she helped to raise kusco 😅 it is interesting though
@@L0rdOfThePiesmakes sense since she only really moved to have him killed when he fired her as his advisor. She probably was a cynical advisor to his father and became more worn down and evil during kuzco’s rule because of his arrogance.
I am kind of devastated that we will never have a standalone Yzma movie, from her origin to her becoming in 2D! This is because I really think thay the role of Yzma was made for none other than that amazing force of a woman called Eartha Kitt. Oh the wasted potential and opportunity!! :
I fricken love that woman, just like Drakken and Sheego and that crazy villain from Pheneas and Ferb . Hope all those villains make it to Dreamlight Valley . Yeah I know some of them aren’t Disney so never gonna happen, but would still be neat
Genuinely if she did serve his family for that many generations and Cusco was the only one she tried to overthrow, that just means Cusco was a bad emperor. At first. And now everybody's going through the character arcs and I love it. Found family yzma and Cusco.
There's a line in the show where Yzma says she's 48 and Kronk doesn't believe this. But its kinda funny to think she rlly is 48 and just aged terribly xD
1:30 If this isn't practically being a mother and son then I don't know what is. Yzma, no matter how much she denies it, raised him (They say it in the series in a hidden way, Kuzco does not know who his parents are) so Kuzco is her adopted son so to speak and taking into account that in the episode they tell you how it was Yzma's mother makes sense with her relationship with Kuzco and that for her the options are: I need the throne = Kill him
Yzma was portrayed as evil but Kuzco largely earned the treatment. Especially with how faithful she was to his family. Would have made more sense if she changed her mind after seeing him change. Which is most likely too complex of a plot point for a kids movie.
If her dad's side of the backstory is still like the one in Kingdom of the Sun, her only fond memories around a table were probably at her dad's embalming table, learning how to shrive dead bodies 😭
Maybe getting humbled in the movie gave her time to cool down about getting fired, and now she's lost the will she needed in order to kill him for the throne? Or maybe she simply found a weird sense of enjoyment coming up with wacky schemes every week, just to see how far she can go, and now she's started growing fond of Kuzco now that she doesn't have to serve/raise him anymore. I mean, imagine suddenly having an excuse (and the time) to stretch your sorcery/alchemy skills all you want, against someone who ultimately wouldn't have the heart to kill you for it (since Kuzco never really wanted Yzma to die, despite everything). She gets to pursue her real passion (sorcery) and is probably in a better place mentally. Oh, that and Kronk's good vibes are probably rubbing off on her. There's no immunity to prolonged exposure to golden retriever energy.
Kuzco being super chill with her kinda implies he got over it and she is probably just rolling with it. Plus if he fails to graduate she becomes Empress by default so his death isn't required this time.
True, and then many times in the TV series. It’s sad that she went from friends with Kuzco’s dad and Kuzco’s sort-of-adoptive-mom (by default) to wanting to overthrow him. While it was normal for a close relative to rule in a young king’s stead until they’re ready, she got too power hungry and then vengeful when Kuzco stood up for himself and fired her for undermining his position.
@initialsleo2832 which, at the time really was just a toss up between two narcissists. Granted, Kuzco still absolutely is one, but he's grown way more of a conscious if the show is anything to go by. He has his moments, but if he didn't we'd have no show.
