One of those video I felt needed to be made. I want to see an improvement. It’s such a great idea and direction. Would hate to see the reputation tank because improvements aren’t being implemented.
Come here for a before/after video, ending up hearing the valid criticism about the shoes with how to improve the shoes design in the practicality standpoint. Great vid man.
LOL thank you so much haha. It's all just real feelings and concerns. I wanna actually give y'all 2 months worth of value out of it, not just "OMG MY PODS RIPPED" and no context like a lot of reactionary content. I could have made that video day 1 when they actually first ripped but that wouldn't have improved anything or helped anyone understand how these could still be a valuable companion in daily life while addressing quality overtime and still supporting Ye and the brand.
When I was watching a review from WhyDavis he got clothes in and a packing slip that said if you ordered pods they’ll take 4-8 weeks. Idk why it’s on a slip that’s predicated on you ordering and receiving other products as opposed to a blast email to all customers or even just an updated time on the website, but hey
Interesting! My original pre-order pair (this pair) and my vultures pant delivered in February had that same message but claiming 2-4 weeks for the Pods specifically instead of that 4-8.
I would have used a rubber glue/adhesive. I feel like the corrisve nature of the super glue once its dries is also causing problems with the rubber outsole and the knit material. Have you considered sowing them? My thought plan for when my pods come in and if they start to peel was the rubber glue first but if that doesn't work sowing them inside out. I have a strong feeling that the sowing would look stupid and ruin it but it was a thought.
Ah yeah, the rubber may have looked cleaner for sure. I didn't really know it existed haha. The sowing sounds really cool. Probably not the easiest thing to do but would probably look really good if it's just done right.
I just got mine, just based on the quality and material I'm only wearing them in the house. I couldn't imagine walking on gravel, dirt, and nasty public floors. I have carpet floors so they should last me a while
They are surprisingly resilient on dirt and gravel. I haven’t had them knee deep in sand or anything just treading carefully. And yeah, nasty floors and anything liquid are their enemy! 🤣
I've heard some people say in the first video to use a plastic specific bonding agent. I wouldn't know the best ones out there haha. The only thing about what I used is the clear residue it leaves. It also hardens a lot, not a very flexible set. So, if I walk without socks on, I can feel the hardened super glue in cases.
My pair around the outer part I’m noticing some separation . Wish these were like leguanos, they use heat instead of glue to get the sole onto the bottom.
Love mine but there is one problem. The fabric is snagged. On both pods. Wore them to physical therapy and then on a train to nyc hung for 2 days and back home. The fabric is ruined.
Anybody get their $20 pair yet? Feels like they're only caught up to the batch that paid the original price. I cancelled my pre-order once I saw the price drop but got the news after they were refunding the difference. Oh well...
I haven't gotten any of my merch or pods yet and it will be 6 weeks this Saturday. I'll remain patient for now because I know when Ye made the announcement that everything will be $20 I'm pretty sure he definitely wasn't thinking about order fulfillment timings.
And it’s like, I don’t mind waiting but it would be nice to have some form of official announcement from YZY or Ye about the progress of the orders. It’s not like they’re publicly traded. Think fans would appreciate it more than anything.
Not at all. There’s a platform that bulges upward between the platforms that act as an arch support. I have issues in my right foot with tendons and these are the one shoe without a crazy ton of cushion or (obvious) arch support I’ve never had that issue with. Really blew my mind!
I think it was absorb the cost of the superbowl commercial at first and probably offset the costs of getting all the new employees/factories/molds etc. started.
