To be fair Anubis would tear open any gundam that wasn't Turn-A in an instant, and even then, the battle would still be heavilly in Anubis's favor.

@@SpinDoctor91 Hey there is an app called the Wave on steam that is about to shut down March 30th and I am doing a show in it for tomorrow, feb 18th at 10pm easter, and I have a huge chunk of the show dedicated to the game for it was what got me into VR and changed my life. I made a dumb joke and I qoute, "Yeah I get VR when Zone of the Enders comes out for it, HUR DE HUR DUR!!!!" Then almost 2-3 days later news came out it was going to be released for VR. It still feels surreal, and part of me wants to say I am lying to you or myself because why would they re-release it, AND give it a vr mode? Either way I am super happy about it.

Yeah, the final battles with Anubis were kind of odd in that none of them felt quite as satisfying as you'd think they should. The space battle would have benefitted from this theme (or a more fleshed out climatic version of it, over the generic one it actually had) and any sense that you were properly fighting for keeps in this stage of the battle.

@Damama Also be aware that on planets, Orbital Frames have the aerial advantage: they spend 99 percent of the time hovering deftly in the air without expense of energy at all. There's kind of a reason why they have 'Orbital' in the name

It's because Anubis is the only Frame with Zero Shift. That alone makes him a hard target and acts as his "Dash" move. I think it's a balancing thing but really means jack when Naked Jehuty is available.

Nice discussion about OF vs Gundams. I think there was, maybe, a contest going by the ZoE1 depiction of OFs. But with the way they were shown in 2? No way, they'd run circles around and destroy even the best gundams. They're basically Power+Speed, and Anubis and Jehuty are obscene representatives of their mech class.

Dark History Turn-A is on par with an orbital frame. The only other machine that comes close is the Quan[T]. Full power Turn-A can bend light around it, teleport it's beam weaponry, regenerate from damage, and the full output of the Moonlight Butterfly has enough range that it could hit Jupiter from Earth. It'd be an interesting match up against OFs.

I'm actually very interested in this idea, albeit 4 years late from the OP. How does one even begin to deal with the ridiculous power of Anubis's vector traps? I feel like its depiction the video games was heavily limited by the gameplay mechanics, given the already huge VT potential shown by more meager frames like Idolo. Anubis has SIX dedicated VT generators strapped to its back. The amount of kinetic and radiant energy it can capture and redirect at will has to be downright silly.

@Damama Just so you know, Orbital Frames are actually capable of self-repair and Auuman Anubis can repair on the fly. It really doesn't matter if the machine can repair itself in the long run since Metatron is pretty much a limitless energy, it can continue to pound on the thing until there's nothing left

@Damama Seriously now? Because now you realize Turn A actually can't fight toe-to-toe with Anubis, you have to resort to buster attacks from lightyears away? That's not really a testament of its combat abilities and would be more reserved for battalion strikes. Anubis' warping abilities were wholly based on a mechanism that allows for planetary travel. It pretty much can get to Turn A before that thing is fired

@Matsuba83 The only thing an OF can have a hard time beating is Guren Lagaan, but then again, if you remember Dolores I, the pilot's soul gets absorbed into the OF upon death, thus making it him/her immortal. So with enough time and patience, an OF might be able to beat a guren lagaan.

Let me join the discussion. An OF uses Metatron, so it's physical attacks would easily destroy any gundam, and Gundam's physicals attacks wouldn't have much value at all. Besides, OFs have much more mobility, they could easily dodge gundam's attack or create a shield, and OFs energy attacks would, too, easily wipe out gundams. So "realisticly" speaking, OFs win.

@Damama how you ask? Simple. Its ANUBIS. The OF that single handily can end wars. A Runner thats brand new to using Anubis can NOT be touched. IF it wasn't for the mental deterioration that comes with flying that power-house, Anubis would be unstoppable. So Anubis's only weakness? Time That is when fighting a Gundam. That and the wings wont do jack to Anubis due to having Vector traps in its wings, The Runner will just redirect the attack back at the Gundam.

@Damama It really doesn't matter about the nanomachines. if that's so, then why doesn't Turn A dissolve itself? What makes metatron special is it uses the specialties of vacuum and redirection, so the nanomachines may not even reach OF, (once tech for metatron improves enough)

@Damama There is no guarantee that Turn A's ability would actually turn Metatron into dust, so that point may be void. Teleporting shouldn't be an issue as Jehuty and Anubis have Zero shift.

2023. Maybe Kojima will buy the rights to the ZOE franchise from Douchenami. Also, idk if Burning Gundam could match Anubis with the Zero Shift, but Gurren Lagann def could, with its abilities to use Spiral Energy to warp and teleport, and basically defy and flat-out break the laws of physics whenever things get hype.

@Damama This debate is actually pretty old. I'd have ignored it completely if I didn't visit this video often to listen to this awesome theme, but it's gone on for months. Truth is, the Turn A and Anubis are actually pretty evenly matched; it would all depend on the pilots. Metatron's speciality is the ability to bend and compress space, thereby affecting everything that occupies space; including nanomachines and air. So Turn A can't cheapshot Anubis with the Moonlight Butterfly.

Orbital frames are on a much higher technological age. A robot supporting life to a human? Not even Gundam 00 is on the same technological level as Orbital Frames. And they use different Propultion Methods! But I do have to say my heart is with gundams because their bad-ass, simple mechs. Preferably Zeon Models. I loves those Mono-eyes.

@Damama It might as well focus on just recovering due to Anubis's battle capacities. Actually, I just saw a couple of battles featuring Turn A. Doesn't appear to feature much of all that warping you've been hyping up, plus it needs to be in a stance and gather energy in order to do it whereas Anubis does it in an instant. I also read up that the regeneration ability, turns out it isn't actually a canon ability. You may want to look up Anubis's fights. In fact, I'll link you to some

@Damama The reason why I said this debate is old is because it's been brought up in various mecha forums before. Been there, done that. When it comes to the teleporting, it still wouldn't work, 'cuz the Turn A actually teleports its own items and beams based on the radius of the Moonlight Butterfly and manipulation of surrounding Minovsky Particles. No nanomachines or particles inside the Vector Trap barrier means no cheap teleporting. It's that simple.

@Damama The anime Dolores i shows that Anubis can utilize vector traps as an offensive weapon to capture foreign items in compressed space and send them right back at the user. In addition, Metatron is wholly focused on bending the very fabric of space around it; I don't think 'teleporting a beam into the cockpit' is going to do you any good than mildly amuse the Runner.

@Damama I'm not lashing at you. You keep outright stating "Lol, Turn A can't be beaten cause he regenerates" That's not a good enough reason. Melona from Queen's Blade, a slime girl with abilities toppling over various characters and is essentially immortal because of her regenerative abilities, and yet she keeps losing. Counting on a regenerative factor in the heat of battle practically leaves you helpless because you'll be spending too much time recovering than defending or attacking

@Damama That's because Jehuty's blade and body has a great concentration of Metatron laced in its construction. In canon (i.e. story mode), Anubis was untouchable by ranged attacks (except by Naked Jehuty if you use him, but he instantkills everything anyways). The SSA (Self Sustaining Armor) of OFs are also laced with Metatron, so they actually have a passive space manipulating quality that allows them to bypass these passive barriers at melee range. That's all there is to it.

In story mode, Anubis was equivalent to Jehuty ver 2. It was stated repeatedly stated that Anubis had the zero shift upgrade from the start while Jehuty never received it. Once Jehuty was upgraded with zero shift, it was also stated the winner between both frames would be decided by the pilots skill.

@Damama Orbital Frames are capable of atmospheric entry as well as being able to operate in space just fine. Turn A is not going to fire that "laser from Mars" as Anubis can simply warp to it. Metatron is of a mineral conscience. Even if Kamille were somehow able to 'see the attacks' coming, who do you think whose 'mind' is he actually reading? He has to deal with a mech who manipulates all aspects of space at a whim. He not only has to deal with Anubis' attacks, but potentially his own

@homey113 I think a more interesting debate would be a battle between any pilot of any era pitted against an OF like Idolo. It didn't have the same concentration of metatron but it lacked a significant AI to control the effects of exposing a pilot to the frame for extended periods of time. It rendered its own pilot incapacitated and went batsh*t crazy with a brutal mastery of its own power. I've often wondered what a frame like Anubis could accomplish without a pilot holding it back.

@Damama You appear to be counting on Turn A's success solely by the fact it regenerates, rather than its combat abilities, plus it's regenerative abilities aren't even instanteous and it takes up time.So yeah, Anubis can, in fact, destroy it while it's in the process of recovering, constantly blasting and battering away at it before even a modicum of it can recover to fight back.

well it highly depends on which generation of gundam ur talking about if you take the moonlight butterfly from turn a gundam or any new type gundam/pilot configuration i believe they could put up a adequate match against a OF turn a gundams kinda cheating tho since it has he ability to destory anything unorganic and its wings can reach from earth to mars but thats 1 among many of its special abilities Z gundam would be a fair match against any OF without cheating

@Damama You can't take advantage of Nohman's ego, dude. Even in his nihilistic state, he remains cool and collected. Yes, he is arrogant and self-confident, but he doesn't gloat about it or blurt about how superior he is. He's far removed from the anime villain stereotype. When he wants something done, he gets it done. If he wants you dead, you will die. You only really need to take one look at him; you wouldn't stand staring him in the face for about five seconds.

@Damama This was never about pilots up until you needed to bring something up to try and support your argument for Turn A, no less using a pilot that isn't even in anyway affiliated from the series where said Gundam originates from. You might have had a point IF this was Frame Vs. Frame.

The first two times you have to fight Anubis, the best you could do is minimize the damage by constantly dashing and homing lasers in order to counter his instant burst. Even still his Zero Shift Dash keeps you on your toes. And in the second fight you have to be careful of his own lasers. So imagine having to fight him with no shield, no guns, only 1 subweapon, and no homing lasers!

Look I don't know where the comparison between OF and Gundams came into this post but let's just leave them out pls. This song is a great piece to. It brought back memories of when I first fought Anubis,and getting owned badly. He's not that hard to beat once you figure out the pattern. I just like the fact that Anubis is one of those bosses that will be remembered because of it's entrance before you fight it.

i remember having the demo it ended with losing to this fight played it so many times that eventually i was able to crash my playstation by winning :( then when i got the full game they changed it to make you autolose after an amount of damage still the best game ever made

@kaihedgie that and it doesnt focus on recovering instead of attacking or defending the nanomachines do it while the pilot fights. The fact that turn a can teleport is also due to the nanomachines. given that they take up the space of light years it would be hard to escape a enemy that can attack where ever you are regardless of where you are and you would never see them. thats just the kind of enemy anubis is up against

I tried to do that once, on the boss battles where it is physically possible to defeat him. Hot dam, I felt like a snail whenever anubis kicked into zero-shift. In boss fights where it's impossible to beat him, you can land one or two strikes on him, but that's it. I took a ton of damage and then the cutscene would always come on.

@kaihedgie that and turn-a is capable of detaching the core so it can fight while the pilot/core is elsewhere im not completely sure how big this distance is but ill assume its the span of its moonlight butterfly wings.

@KiraXBara456 i supposed that turn a doesnt dissolve itself because its programed to im not sure. But unless anubis filters everything he comes into contact including air i dont think its possible to filter out the nanomachines... Its like your trying to filter something that cant even be seen by the naked eye. That and its not like you can escape them in the first place so i figured that metatron would also be vulnerable to them unless it doesn't exist in this dimension or something.

@gamersbestfriend even with zero shift turn a gundam cant be destoryed because it can regenerate any part that gets damaged or lost with the nanomachines that make up its wings. its wings are also capable of extending for a near infinite amount making escaping them almost impossible. Given that the wings automatically destory anything inorganic or not living anubis would have to combat turn a from a distance greater then from earth to mars. lets disregard the colony laser and teleportation tho

If you wanna talk about cheap turn A could just teleport its shield and core unit into anubis and activate moonlight butterfly. It would surpass the vector traps and allow moonlight butterfly to be used on Anubis.

@kaihedgie if you want me to focus on its combat prowess then lets put kamille in the cockpit he would be able to see all the attacks coming before they hit and he would probably be able to reduce the runner into a crying mess before they even started. But what do i really need to say about turn a its combat is firing its beam gun and moonlight butterfly which would destory anubis before he would be able to touch turn it. Or turn a could simply teleport to mars and destory it from there

@kaihedgie sorry i thought u knew and i thought i told/explained it to u a couple times it is when turn a grows wings made of nano machines that destroy any inorganic matter turning it into sand these wings are the span of the distance from earth to jupiter* (sorry had to fact check myself) and are the basis for most of turna's abilities like the teleporting etc (the nanomachines not moonlight butterfly itself)

I think Aumaan Anubis is just there so Naked Jehuty can have something to fight in VS. Cuz try fighting NJ with something like Vic Viper and you'll quickly realize they were never meant to fight each other. AAnubis is the only Orbital Frame that can take a hit from NJ and still live to keep fighting.

@kaihedgie im not sure how long anubis would last but if turn-a teleported a couple planets away and just shot its colony laser as anubis from any direction possible while simultaneously destorying it with moonlight butterfly it wouldn't be able to last. That and its impossible to destory turn-a completely ud need to destroy every nanomachine from turn-a to anubis which could possibly be the distance of earth to mars which i dont think anubis can do instantly

@kaihedgie even assuming that how would anubis even go about destorying turn a considering it is impossible to in the first place. given that turn a can regenerate any part and even if completely obliterated turn a would come back. the battle would simply turn into one of attrition one that turn a is capable of winning. Even considering all that how would anubis counter the fact that its being degraded to the point itd be nothing within 30 seconds?

@kaihedgie u still seem to be ignoring the fact that kamile is piloting it. The person piloting anubis does indeed seem to have a ego one that kamile can take advantage of and theres still the fact ur ignoring moonlight butterflys overwhelming distance and effect of destroying anything inorganic which im sure anubis is. that and u still havent answered how anubis fights a enemy that is light years away and still attacking him

@kaihedgie he simply senses danger directed at him by any living entity so yes he could dodge them and the fact that during this whole fight anubis is being destroyed by moonlight butterfly. Even if he did manage to destory turn a how does he stop moonlight butterflys nanomachines from destorying him?

@bkchimera06 So, he has Anubis for playtime and then gets a Wing Zero Orbital Frame for his real fights? Surely Wing Zero Orbital is tougher enough for him. Or perhaps Tallgeese would suit him more, since its so damn big.

@homey113 time is the one thing turn a gundam has seeing as its practically as old as dirt. just wondering tho does anubis vector air automatically or does he have to perceive the attack before redirecting it? cause that is what he would need to do to deflect the moonlight butterfly.

@Damama far as i know its a turn on/off thing. Never used in game due to the lack of missles
