Have you been able to use old plugins(/add-ons)? If you are not able to change those files, update-settings.ini and channel-prefs.js, I could've told you that you need to acquire ownership of those files. If you don't how that's done: right-click in each, click properties, tab security, click edit, click add, enter the object you need, such as your username in windows (it has to be exactly how you spell/enter it), click check name for it to add your pc name, to be the right root path, click ok, now select your username from the list, assign full control to the one you just created (your username), click ok in each of those windows. You have to do this for both those files. I should add that the update-settings.ini is found in the main folder of that freshly installed firefox. For the maximum absolute compatibility/support, practical usability really, for older plugins/add-ons, you must use 32 bit version of firefox, as without it, you won't be able to use the most plugins/add-ons. If you plan using simultaneously multiple architecture versions of firefox, you should use profiles for firefox. If you have trouble setting up that, I could assist you further. If you don't want to communicate anymore and/or aren't able to set up firefox profiles, you SHOULD remove all firefox versions, then proceed with the installation of firefox ESR. Also you shouldn't run firefox (SHOULD be the 32 bit architecture version (x86)) without modifying both those files as it could trigger the update to a more recent, non-esr, version of firefox. One more note: you should, only, modify the files with firefox absolutely NOT running.

+salmonline ive built a few diy speakers myself and in my opinion you should think more about wanting to do a project rather than getting the best audio quality out of your money. Generally speaking you will get better sound quality from something diy for the same price as something store bought, but assembling and testing a pair of speakers is a huge time commitment, and making them look pretty is a whole other animal. If you're into building stuff and working with your hands, and you have the time to build them and do it right (that is, not pushing them aside for months and then being disappointed with your purchase) then i can wholeheartedly recommend the swans.
