I just got in Ithaca strings pick up about a month ago. I could not possibly be happier. I was planning to run it through a tone Dexter, but I already had a Fishman aura spectrum. I chose one of the violin presets and presto! No more buzzy nasal output! When I took the aura pedal out of the chain, it was back to a good but nasal pick up performance, so some sort of advanced modeling of equalization is a really good idea when amplifying violin with a pick up. The Aceto pick up is also really cool because you can get the output jack built into your chin rest, which means you don’t need a second carpenter jack on the body of the instrument. Really good design. I agonized between the realist pick up and the Ithaca strings for a while. I think the realist would be pretty good, but I wanted the ergonomics of the Ithaca strings chin rest output.
