can't get over those glances he gives to the sky throughout the song. She's looking down, smiling so hard at her boy accomplishing his dreams. Chills and tears every time
She surely is. Though his dream was to be a sailor and to remain an ordinance man in the Navy. He just continues his talent for music because he likes writing songs and showing people his music. And he's really good at it. Either way, his Mama DeAnn is very proud of all her boy has accomplished. God willing, they'll be together again one day.
He's a strong man! I can't even listen to him sing about his mom without crying... But he's up there in front of the masses just ROCKIN IT!!!! You're the man, Zach! Keep on keepin' on brother!
@@patrickgrillo5811 I hope she is doing well. And if not I hope you are. Because she will always be by your side and I don’t know your mom but I know my mom wouldn’t want me to cry for her, but to be happy of the life she led and who she raised you to be. Either way you can go on to make her proud and join her in glory one day

I get so annoyed by all these people who are getting famous and are actually completely talentless, then I find guys like Zach Bryan and it gives me a little bit of hope that real music by real musicians is still being made out there!
@Makula-px8fr there are only so many notes and chords available, for me I love the simplicity of his guitar work, it is the way he uses his lyrics that does it for me. And I am not knocking all pop because I do listen to a lot of it when I am in the mood for it but I like his realness.
That breath at the end. Just screams "we made it momma." The way he looks up a few times as he is singing. He got the biggest stage in country music and he sang a song directly to his momma.
Proud of my fellow military brothers and sisters who are making it big outside the military and showing other vets we can find purpose beyond our days in uniform because i know it’s a struggle for a lot of us. Keep killin it Zach
I'm Native American. I recently heard a native teen sing a cover of "something in the orange" and it made me want to listen to more of his music. Not disappointed at all. I can relate to a lot of his music and it's comforting to hear his music. This song made me cry.
Lost my mom at 9, and this song did so much for my healing process. I cry every time I hear it, but it’s something that puts my feelings into a song and I love it
Man same here. Pain never goes away but you find things that help you and this song definitely helps. I’m a mess but in a good way when I listen to this. Especially the live version

You can see his eyes starting to water near the end . Guys got real emotions in his music. No need for all the extra stuff you have these days. I’ve been a fan since day one
Found him a couple years ago. Decided to listen to all his stuff earlier this week. 10am on an industrial construction site this song was playing and I started crying at work and I don't even know the actual reason why. Perfect!!
This song always hit me in the heart strings. And then I lost my mother this New Year’s Eve and now this song hits me in such a different way. Without Zach’s music who knows where I would be. I love you mom.
I legitimately have no clue how this young man pulled this off. I mean talk about being on the brink! In that scenario, with that song, and just plain killing it while holding on to every last thread... I've been a big believer in Zach for a while now, but what he accomplished during this is beyond belief when considering all factors. This dude is beyond legit!
Congrats Zach Bryan! Been listening to you from the start brother! Finally took the time to learn heading south on the gee tar and now one my favorites to play. Keep pushing man and good luck in your journey to the top.
I am so happy for you Zach. I heard you on the radio the other day, nearly brought me to tears. Your music is very relatable and wholesome. Thank you for that. Stay golden pony boy!
Thank you for this song. It makes me cry. My mom passed away in April. I wish I could have gotten the chance to show her your music. I know she would love it.
I'm so glad the algorithm put Heading South in my recommendeds. I fell in love with his music. Real heart. Real soul. You can tell he's been through it man can I relate. Your music saved my life, Zach Bryan. You have my eternal thanks. Words aren't enough
We lost our grandmother this summer... My uncles have been absolutely heartbroken... I've sent them both this song and I hope it helps heal them. Their mom saw them have families and the things ZB is saying he wish she saw in this song, trying to lend the perspective they are blessed to have experienced so much with her while she was here.
Amazing singing and songwriting talent. Listening to the words of this song and seeing a good person living out a dream and debuting at the Opry puts a lump my throat and tears in my eyes. You're literally watching a dream come. Loved the sigh of relief and accomplishment at the very end. God bless brother. Keep cranking out the tunes Zach.
@@nicksanford7390 all his music is fundamental and basic, though, the writing is just always spectacular. He literally rips 4 cords in every song and has a pretty similar structure in all his songs. So your comment is just based and fairly lame cause you point out that this song in particular is basic, when it is about his Mother. I get what you’re saying but your comments are empty as air to my ears, so I can see how Jimmy had to point out what the song was about and question how it was basic.
I'm from South San Francisco and I can't stop listening to your music. I lost my Sister and my mom fell, hard. But your lyrics are poetry sir. Thank you
This song hurts me to my core. I have lost both of my parents and my mom was for sure the hardest one to get through. But every time I hear this song I helps me over come just a little bit more of this pain.
It's amazing how far this young man has come. He deserves all of the recognition for his hard work. He is definitely a man who puts his heart and emotions into his songs. Something you don't see much of anymore. He is going to go far.
Love you brother! Keep on making the music that touches your heart, because we’re there for what it takes is no matter what and don’t forget that. Praying for you brother, all love from WA ❤️🙏🏼
To me, he is what the Opry and Country Music is all about. A man up there with nothing but his guitar and his voice just pouring his heart out for all to love or hate. I hope Nashville never changes you Zach - you're what we need to keep this music and culture alive.
Got turned onto Heading South on Serius radio. Loved hearing his voice on Yellowstone ,Flying or Crying. Keep up the good work. Your voice is beautiful.

I’m a pretty fine tooth comb musician/critic myself & all I’ve got to say is this hit me right in the ole heart man. Great song great job you’re an incredibly talented artist…keep you’re head up & heart strong brother. 👏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
You made it! You have one of the best voices I've ever listened to the best country voice I've heard and the way your songs touch a lot of people's hearts because they've been through a lot of it but you are by far way better than a lot of these new country singers!
Been watching you since you were making shorts on ticktock in the backyard. Now you're singing ahout your mama at the opry. You deserve it dude. Super stoked for you. I love this.
I remember following him way back when him and his friends started up his own studio. Before that even. I used to work for a security company and did mostly night shifts, so on the boat back to the main land or on my way to work I'd listen to his songs.
so sad losing your mother.... i make sure I show love to my mum while I can... beautiful song gonna learn this on the guitar.. Zach your such a real artist
