When I watch this back, Wilson did more with less than most QBs could. Hard to anticipate a clean pocket when free rushers are coming every other play

The number of sacks Wilson avoided is insane... most QBs would've have a 7+ sack game, with all those unblocked pass rushers.

ZW has to do better imo but googling Mile High Stadium, I found this. "Because the air is thinner at that elevation, the football can travel faster and farther given the same energy output at the onset." Maybe the thinner air botched some of his throws.

Zach didn't throw good today but I have to praise him bcuz he was running for his life all day and he did a hell of a job getting away

Wilson really didn’t play as bad as some think.

Wilson and Conklin had some impressive catches; maybe the best part of Zach’s game was escapability. As a BYU fan I wince when I see the hall security issues. Not sure why accuracy seems so dodgy these last couple of games. He seems to be misfiring on a fair number of his throws. Check downs look the best lol. Glad to see another win. Would be amazing to see a Jets team go to the playoffs, which seems at least possible if not plausible.

What nobody is saying that i notice is Zach Wilson picks up the slack in the 2nd half, most especially in the 4th quarter when its really time to step it up.

Very few QBs much less young QBs would have the poise and grit to withstand that much constant pressure. I think he was handed a real lemon in terms of protection and simply made the best of it. Not to mention all of those dropped catches.

Rough day for the offense overall. Zach is taking too long to settle into games. Once he gets comfortable he’s playing better, his first half/second half splits are probably night and day. MLF needs to give him some easy throws to start games and get the defense on their heels. The good thing is he’s improved in the flats and isn’t throwing interceptions. The bad is his timing is off early so he’s late on throws that are there. The OL doing him zero favors in traditional drop back situations. 5-2/4-0 with Zach is still something to be happy about because we know once he settles in this offense will take off.

Several times I saw receivers open... from my office chair in a completely different state... also, sneaky to throw that Breece Hall run into this video and I'm glad you did.

O-Line was terrible and that forced him to make some tough plays that weren’t his fault. Clearly we’re a run first team but the accuracy has to be better when we call on the passing game.

Wow that was brutal. I am surprised Zach didn't get hurt. Like we were playing without OL. Whenever Zach did get a chance to throw he kept sailing throws. He sailed at least 5 throws. Zach is not doing great.

This game was hard to watch. We had so many injuries and next week vs the pats will be tough without them.

Its weird, watching it back, honestly Zach didn't look nearly as bad as I remember. That fumble/sack/save is one of the dumbest plays I've seen, but he had a few drops there that were ugly, and honestly, if Denver weren't such great tacklers, he put a lot of guys in position to get chunks with RAC, which is kinda what the passing game is built on. He def needs to be more decisive with the football at times, but hey, his ability to extend plays is impressive, just hasn't panned out thus far.

i can see where ppl r gonna say he sucks but look at what had man, no moore, no breece, no davis, no avt, and obvi all the other OL injuries and hes running for his life, idk if the wind affected the accuracy on some throws but if he plays like this next week idk how we can beat bellichick and NE though a positive is how well he improvised against probably the fastest edge rushers in the league, just nobody came down field open for him

Was Zach Wilson good? No. Did he miss throws? Absolutely, but are we really going to sit here and bury this man as the root cause of today's struggles? Zach wilson didn't commit 10 penalties for 85 yards resulting in a lot of these 3rd and longs and lost 1st downs. The offense played poorly overall as a unit. The Oline was struggling immensely , and committed way too many drive stalling penalties + add in two penalties from WR's that reversed 2 potential 1st downs. We are not a good enough team to over come 85 yards in penalties vs an elite defense with an oline most comprised of backups/hurt players. We should be looking at this team with context today, we have a make shift oline ravaged by injuries, were down our best olineman, RB1, WR1, WR2/3(however you see moore) , continue to trot out Jeff Smith who seems to average more drops than catches and woke up Mims from hibernation who still can't seem to get on the field, but still got the W. This team has a whole slew of issues on the offensive side besides Wilson that everyone seems to ignore because its easy to bag on the QB. Not absolving Wilson's play today, but we should be more critical on the unit as a whole on our struggles these past few weeks.

I'm getting very scared about Zach, keeps missing throws, spins way to much in and out of the pocket (not just this game all season) and doesn't seem confident. I just hope IF Zach isn't our guy, JD and Saleh get a chance to select a new QB because they deserve it

First few throws Idk why those sailed like that... had corey on two seperate occasions. I wanna blame the thin denver air but MEH... I'd like to get some quick hitters early for him to get him into a rhythm sooner. kid avoided pressure a lot which is REALLY good but I don't like that he tends to get a bit too quick when there's an ounce of rush in the area... he has more time than he thinks. Still playing turnover free ball and making some key throws, but he will get better. Technically he has just started his second year with game 17 under his belt.

Zach wilson's play needs to get better asap. We wont beat NE or compete with Buffalo if he continues to play medicore. He needs to step his game up.

O-line has to do a better job at blocking.

Im starting to think Moore think Wilson sucks cause Mahomes can spread Rodgers can spread the ball Zach looks like a shitty backup like Taylor from the Giants

May not be improving in passing but there is a definite improvement in evading the sack

He's gotta play better. He did a good job avoiding sacks and didn't throw a pick, but he missed a number of throws. If he becomes effective, this team will be really good.

#99 on the Broncos is jumping on top of ppl even after the tackle is being made and the refs don’t give a damn

Look at the throw at 5:27 he has time and has 2 recievers cutting across the field, he easily can throw one open for a 1st but he makes a off target checkdown

The OL play was not that bad; Zach had several throws from clean pockets that just sailed, were behind, or no man's land. He had 3 seconds to get rid of the ball on all but 5 plays. MLF pass patterns have 3 receivers in the same area, that's a problem. Zach needs to just throw it way, no more scrambling. He didn't complete one pass off any of the insane scrambling he did. All he needs to do is manage the game, hit the easy passes, move the chains. He's not throwing INTs which is great.

3 throwaways, 3 drops(1 behind Mims but hit his hands), 3 misses(First two plus RPO to Uzomah) and 1 YOLO scrambling cross body to Conklin. 16/26 doesn’t look terrible in context. He’s gotta hit those misses though, the Uzomah one was a gimme.

Zac was awful today. This win almost feels like a loss.

Many of these miss throws are because balls always have sailed different in Mile High. Many QBs have said so.

Not good whatsoever, very discouraging. Many ball behind WR’s, thankfully we go home next week but the Patriots look like the better team.

Let's be honest, jets fans would probably be going easier on Wilson if he had not bothered finding ways to throw the ball away and just taken 7-8 sacks

Stop playing hero ball and throw it away. @4:12 - abandons pocket & rejects open target at 30-yard line & runs backwards instead. @4:25 - another bad miss when he's not under pressure @4:30 - no dump off to Garrett Wilson & instead a cross-body & across the field throw @4:52 - open target running down the 37 or throw it up to CJ at 42-yard line who has size and likely draws a flag Multiple times Garrett Wilson bails him out by twisting to pull in a ball thrown behind Hospital thrown to Mims Zach was bad and I'm confused how others watch this video and can't see it. OL was also bad so it wasn't only Zach struggling. I can see why Garrett Wilson says Flacco throws a more catchable ball.

I'd like to see the Jets run more RPOs early. Get the offense into a rhythm. Zach gets a little too happy feet on easy throws causing his timing to be off which leads to balls sailing. Yes the O-Line is not good, and yes Zach does everything he can do avoid and minimalize damage, but I'm referring to the easy plays. Denver has done a great job all year at stopping QBs from playing well, but Zach can help himself by not compounding the issues. Game is already hard as hell, lets not make it harder on ourselves.

Poor Kid... didn't have a chance this game. Did great with what he had. Offensive line needs to figure it out with AVT missing. The scheme *cannot* be 5-7 step dropbacks against the Patriots, who will be bringing the blitz against the awful remnants of this Oline.

7 WR screens, 7+ plays with a guy (or two) in his face when the ball is snapped, 2 balls that were high with WR open but look at the down an distance, half the time their penalties put them behind the sticks and you won’t have success with that recipe with a D like Denver. Play calling is very conservative, too many penalties, blocking was terrible and as a result, Zach has a below avg game. Don’t care who you are, thats a rough situation for any QB. Funny to see all the hate for a QB that is undefeated and hasn’t made the costly mistake to lose a game…in fact, he flat out won his first game back.

Windy weather, banged up oline and subpar play calling and its no surprise that Wilson hasn't looked good. With Hall out, whether its the season or not, they are really going to have to open it up for Zach the coming weeks. See what the kid can do already

Lafluer is not making the game any easier for zach as well, he called that wr screen so much the defense knew exactly what was coming @ 5:11 zach had no idea what to do, the wr routes always seem too close to ach other and they do not spread the field, zach def missed some throws and had terrible timing but when your oline is getting destroyed and your OC is no help with play calling what can you do, Lafluer calls excellent runs but his passing concepts are terrible like are they not the same from the last 5 weeks of zach's rookie season?

Damn wilson really needs to get his game under control. Yeah the rush was in his face, but he looked frantic, inaccurate, and indecisive. Not one good throw past 10 yards

His elusiveness is elite...his accuracy and movement inside the pocket ...not so much...dont really like alot of the passing concepts this week either.

Zach needs a sure fire number 1 receiver that elevates him and I think he will be ok, I think he is so focused on playing within the offense and minimizing mistakes that he is overthinking it, I saw this because after watching him I know Zach would like nothing more than to let it fly ( he has the gunslinger mindset) but he understands if he does that he will make more mistakes than not so he takes what he can get I believe if you give the kid either a O-line or a bonafide number 1 receiver (preferably both)he will take that next step so I am content with Wilson till he gets either and still underpreforms or regresses to a turnover happy mess which no matter how you feel about him he is 4-0 and lol only turned the ball over twice so 🤷🏿‍♂️

Yes very concerned about Zach. He is holding the offense back. Cannot make any plays when pocket breaks down. He takes no deep shots. He plays wreckless and the turnovers will surely come if he continues to play bad football. He is this film junkie he should be sick to his stomach watching his game tape. I hope he turns it around soon? With no Breece now he will have to make a lot more plays or we will be looking at a 5-4 record going into the week 10 bye. Pats and Bills will both smoke the Jets if he plays like trash. Love the D and Special teams though! Zach is the problem right now and the stupid penalties they need to clean that up fast!

My God, the excuses u Jets fans make for Zach Wilson is unreal. Face it, other than the 4th quarter of the Steeler game, Zach Wilson has played like a back up qb at best. Joe Flacco was playing WAY better than Wilson, more turnovers, but at least he wasn't playing scared and the Jets WRs were putting up numbers, especially Garret Wilson. Since Zach has been back, Garrett has been M.I.A.

Zach is a bum. He is athletic but makes dumb plays and is wildly inaccurate. He cannot compete against top defenses and doesn’t seem to improve much. Brett Rypien showed a lot more than clown Zach.

Set your feet young man. Too many off balance, unnecessary throws. Left a lot of open receivers out there. Few times he bailed out of clean pockets, stop trying to make "school yard" plays

great game from the running game & defense but zach accuracy & vision is horrible. I'm giving him the rest of this yr & next season, if he continues like this next season its going to be time to move on once again to find a franchise QB. SMH

Someone teach him the game. You beat the blitz by throwing hot routes, screens and replacing the blitzers and shifting your line to the blitz or bringing backs in to block. If your running for your life that’s on the coaches not understanding timing and teaching this kid how to succeed he isn’t accurate either looks terribly sloppy no wonder he has 1 touchdown with 190yards a game

I said they should have never drafted him from day 1. He was not draftable his 1st 2 years in college, yet the BYU announcers said he would be playing NFL football during his 1st game of his 2020 season. All he did in college is sit back behind a top 5 o-,line in the country and throw the ball up to recievers who were better than the DB's. His Arm talent is not due to distance or ball speed. They were in love with his arm angles. If he looks like Mahomes, he is Mahomes. The problem is he throws at different arm angles for absolutely no reason. If you have a overhand release you miss high or low. If you throw sidearm you miss left or right. That is why he is off target all the time. He also didn't need touch or different ball speeds when you only throw vertical , back shoulder or a non moving target. That's why he sucks. He wasn't asked to hit short slants, crossing patterns, or recievers out of the backfield. Watch his college tape its the same repetitive throws over and over. He has escapabiliy, can run, and plays with a lot of heart. If he is given the best defense, best o-line and best running game he might be a game manager.
