you gotta talk about baker mayfield, that guy is totally changing with the bucs, I am surprised you haven't talked about him with as much turmoil he's been through! As a saints fan, was pissed with their performance, but Baker is truly improved and such a great guy from the looks of it.
@@Big-Bearded-Alkebulanian-Manthis wasn’t his first decent performance tho. Rookie year he had a 297 yard 2 td game with a great completion % vs Titans. That same season he had a decent game vs the Buccaneers as well. Only last year he didn’t have any good performance game, so youd think this is his first good game
@@Big-Bearded-Alkebulanian-Man he was better than decent, you cant play better than that drive out of halftime, and he’s played decently before, 2021 vs the bucs, 2021 vs the titans, week 1 vs the bills, those had flashes, this was really damn good
@@joesanthosh5315… my bad… I stand “corrected”… I was wrong… he has a 1 decent game every 10th game average 😂… regardless… he showed flashes in this game… people shouldn’t be throwing the word “great” around so loosely
Seeing your QB take responsibility like that would keep a fan like me invested in his development because it seems that the wheels are still there for him mentally, as well as growth and development for his character and maturity.
I’m more upset that he didn’t even get a chance to win the game than I am about them losing. The no call when JJ got held and then the late flag after the pick were just insane. It’s actually mind boggling how often the Jets get fucked over like this even as a Jets fan lol. Like the Chiefs do not need anymore help…we’re the fucking Jets.
I'm a cowboys fan but I love the lions and wished they had better luck. I also care for the jets and hope Zach becomes an all-star gb. F the chiefs! They get away with too much and feels rigged.
I feel really sorry for Zach, he is getting a lot of hate, I hope he learns more from Aaron Rodgers and becomes a great QB for the upcoming years, he looked good in this game, the fumble made me feel bad, they deserved more in this game, and I personally don’t like the Jets
Chiefs fan here: Zach Wilson looked a lot better this game than he has in a while. Even though the team lost, I think Zach cleaned up his game a lot and has earned the right to keep starting.
@@zevahc3928 being a fan of the winning team doesn't show any sign of being unbiased? Had your team lost and you said that yeah maybe it conlme off as unbiased. The chiefs won on a missed call in a close game. If you said Zack Wilson sucked you would be saying the chiefs suck. But you call him good because it makes a gifted win look better
@@StiffyLongJohn do you not consider the inverse of what you just said? What if I was a jets fan? The Chiefs play turned around after the safety and they did not play as well. If I was a Jets fan talking about Wilson playing better and the game coming down to questionable officiating like the rest of the Jets fans, that would be biased. I am merely saying that I thought he made big improvements and that's coming from someone who is not a Jets fan.
I honestly was amazed at what Zach and the Jets defense was able to do in this game. I literally saw this group start to rally and believe in themselves as the game progressed and that belief can hopefully carry on into future games.
I don't know what Aaron Rodgers told Zach Wilson in the week of practice between games 3 and 4, but I sure hope Aaron wrote it down. Because that was a completely different QB out there than we saw in the first 3 weeks.
Idk if anyone else caught this, but dude you had me laughing so hard when you pulled that line out about Donna Kelce being in the suit and that's what got Wilson's motor humming in the game. The way you snuck that in there , so nonchalant it was great. I had to clip that joke out and send it to my brother. 😂😂
I’m a ravens fan, but I’m actually happy for Zach as he just simply played great. Yeah he had the fumble but statistically he played better than Patrick mahomes! I hope he can continue to get even better…
At least he showed he is actually improving..Remember how terrible Alex Smith was his first few years with the 49ners? Then he became a pro bowl caliber qb. Hope the same happens to Wilson
I'm a Jets fan. I've been holding on to hope for Zach. This week I finally decided I agreed with all the naysayers. He has just been consistently bad. And then tonight's game happened. I think this is the best I've ever seen him play. I really am rooting for him. I hope he keeps it up.
I'm from KC. Wilson looked like he was cooking with peanut oil at one point against us last night. Idk if he can string together complete games with that skill level, but if he could, watch out.
he looked like he can make proper reads and part of me believes it’s because of those people who are surrounding him. rodgers saying that on the mcaffee podcast did great things for that locker room and zach. this team needs to lock in and win some games as a team and not play the blame game like a bunch of kids.
I'm a Chiefs fan but have rooted for Zach to show up since day one. I wish this wouldn't have been the game he decided to prove himself but glad to see him do what he CAN do!
What the Jets OC and Saleh did is why he plays much better. They were playing him extremely conservative and not to lose since last year; tonight, they decided to play him open and to win games.
@@dallasvsworld Not tips, it’s an open play calling and confidence in his abilities that changed things; before that, they played him like they were afraid of him losing games.
He played okay, which is much better than he had been. He was non existent in the 1st quarter, played outstanding in the 2nd, opened up the 2nd half with a beautiful drive, and then never got them in scoring position again. He also had a critical fumble as his last play of the game.
Yeah man I loved that Zach played his but off. I mean he was throwing straight dots but I will say that the holding call was right because sauce was nearly out right hugging MVS 😂😂😂
@@graysonmartin5947to be fair you usually don't expect a guy to run into you, I've played a lot of sports and stuff happens fast. Watch the replay and watch Sauce's hips and feet to see where he is trying to go. Incidental contact happens all the time and dbs have just as much right to that space as a receiver. A DBs job is to cover, not make sure they have a free and open field to run. That's why shading techniques are a thing
Gotta give him more than one game before making any judgments. After that Bills game, people dogpiled on him being trash for two weeks but now wanna act like they were behind him the whole time. If he regresses in the next game, it'll be right back to it.
Yes, but it’s a growth process; he showed you today what he has as a talent. Most didn’t think he was an NFL QB and should be tossed in the trash before this game.
@@A_RU-vid_Commenter That's funny with the constant begging for him to come back when he would have retired after a few more years anyway if he stayed in NE and this rebuild situation would still be happening.
Jets fan here- seeing him ball out today made me so fucking happy for him. Dudes been through so much, and didn’t ask for anyyyy of this shit that he’s had to go through. Seeing that shit Michael Kay pulled with having Joe Namath on just to trash his own organization and just pile on a young struggling kid, after seeing “89% of America” choose the chiefs over the jets pregame, every single pregame analyst taking the chiefs… and then Zach Wilson has his gohan super sayin 2 moment and just says “I’m sick of this, fuck all you and watch this” moment. Honestly that’s going to be one of my favorite jets memories. Definitely highlighted by the way he came out at half time. From the fans perspective we’re just hoping that the offense didn’t cool off in the halftime locker room, praying that this wasn’t a fluke and that he can keep it up. And then he just comes out and goes 5/5 and 75 yards throwing actual fucking lazer beams. Feels like a very much “we lost the battle but we may still win the war” moment postgame right now. I think Zach may have just had his click moment/ coming out party/ I can play in the nfl moment. And if he continues to plays like that for the rest of the season I think we’re a legit top 3 or 4 team right up there with the chiefs, eagles, fins and bills. I’m 28 and have watched every jet game since I was 7, and that 2nd and 3rd quarter was the best jets quarterback play I’ve ever seen.
As a Chiefs fan I'll admit that the Sauce hold was very ticky tack. But there were some other bad calls throughout the game (the safety shouldn't have been a safety, it should've been a penalty at the 1, the "horsecollar" tackle where Dana had the ball carrier by the front of the Jersey, the Zach Wilson TD where Nnadi has his helmet ripped off and there is no flag for illegal use of hands). The holding on the play before the 3rd and 13 was a really touchy penalty from the line judge on the far side. The JT hold on the scramble wasn't called because the near side line judge wasn't quick as picky. Overall, the calls throughout the game from the officials where pretty suspect on both sides. I won't say that last play didn't help the Chiefs, but even if it wasn't called, the Chiefs were still up by 3 at that point. How do we know Wilson would have been able to lead a scoring drive? Yes it sucks that we didn't get a chance to see that happen, but as an athlete it's really irksome when people say the game was decided by one call. What if the Jets didn't give up 17 points in the first quarter? What if Zach Wilson didn't fumble the ball? If that bad call wasn't made who says the Jets definitely win? In my experience, if the game is "decided" by a single call the ref makes, you didn't play well enough. If you don't trust the refs (as you shouldn't) then take the game out of their hands. There were many chances the Jets had before that call that were not capitalized on. Yes it was a touchy call, I wouldn't have called it and think it was a bad call, but that one bad call by an official didn't decide the game. Neither did the bad safety call if the Chiefs were to have lost that game. When you're in a close game, bad calls happen and it's part of the game. You just need to rise above it. (This is not me defending the Chiefs nor the refs. I'm just saying that things like this happen in almost every close game.)
It was a little his fault, he took his eye off the ball to look at the coverage before securing the ball. It was low at his hip, but that's definitely a catchable snap if he was watching it. It wasn't like it was out of reach or at calf level.
I thought his maturity in saying "it's on me" shows growth compared to last year. He has the arm talent so if the mental game is improving with maturity or having Rodgers in his ear he could end up being a solid or really good starting QB.
There's a lot to criticize about the Jets, but this loss is on bad officiating, plain and simple. You can make the kind of mistakes that the Jets made tonight and still win football games, but you can't outplay bad referees.
It was bad for both teams. What are you on about? Two of the penalties in the first half led to 9 points for the jets. You all really let your bias show.
There were plenty of ticky tack calls on both sides. The play before the Sauce Gardner penalty, there was a phantom holding call against the Chiefs. Refs were being hard line on holding on both sides.
As a LONG TIME Bills fan, I think something "clicked" for Wilson - and awesome for the young man and the OC - I hope his growth and confidence keeps growing! And yes, Kap deserves a shot on a team...
Huh? Hes been out of the league for 7 yrs. Hes old. Once teams had tape on him he sucked. He couldnt read defenses. Relied on his legs/arm which have both degraded with age. Hard pass.
Lol Kap? This is what happens when multiple generations are given participation trophies for being mediocre and losing. Wilson bought himself 3 more weeks to be awful for the jets. One bills fan to another id love to see him continue to be garbage because he is garbage. Even a blind mouse finds cheese sometimes. Kid looks like he should be on Disney channel not the nfl, you think dudes who grew up in the hood look at him like a leader? Cmon. If you do you’re naive. I’m Hardly even gonna address Kap but he’s a joke, a dude who’s adopted by an amazing family calls them out for being racist?? Are you serious? As a coach, GM, or teammate how do you trust a guy like that? GO BILLS
It’s not shocking nor should be a revelation: young QBs need to be behind smart veterans to know what the f** the job is. Rodgers had Farve. Brady had Bledsoe. Mahomes had Smith. Rivers had Brees (who he himself had a really rough start because he didn’t have that veteran to learn from until year 3). Eli had Warner. Josh Allen had Derek Anderson his first year (and most ppl don’t know how bad the FO screwed his development and got lucky in grabbing DA last minute). He was too old and unretired just to help JA develop, and that’s all that’s needed. Rodgers just being in the building to help Zach prepare will save his career…and I feel the same way about Fields. The best thing the Bears can do is just release him so he can backup someone great in the league for a year and just learn. Like what happened to Geno who was hyper arrogant early in his career while simultaneously had a HC that fed his arrogance AND didn’t have a QB to learn from (vs Russ who has his flaws but knows how to study film).
The Rogers effect is real every time that guy is in the building Zach Wilson seems to play better errors were made but on a positive note the defense only gave up six points in the second half if all those interceptions would have been actual interceptions we wouldn't be talking about a different outcome I feel like Zach Wilson could mature faster with Rogers in the building
Not all NFL quarterbacks learn at the same pace. It’s worth remembering that Aaron Rodgers backed Brett Farve for 4 years. Now he’s regarded as an all time great and is a first ballot hall of fame candidate. The Packers were perennial contenders nearly every year and had great talent surrounding Aaron and Zach doesn’t. That’s why he hasn’t shown any signs of greatness. Coach Saleh believes in the young man and hopefully the players will rally around him.
if you give Wilson time in the pocket and be a little creative calling plays that help him, he looks like an NFL QB. Lets see if this was a fluke - next week is a must win
Kelce kept lookin up at the suite with Taylor, Patrick was playing star struck, the announcers were blushing and gushing about swifties.. it was all very embarrassing to witness
1.) It was a holding call not PI 2.) They did not get robbed 3.) There were many other missed opportunities by the Jets than a single moment of the game 4.) The Jets received many favorable calls that helped to bring them back into the game to prevent a rout by the end of the 2nd quarter. 5.) Don't complain of sour grapes
Moments in the game he looks like he is growing then bam he does something ridiculous however I would say he looked as good as I've ever seen him since being in the NFL last night maybe things will get better hopefully for all those jets fans and FB fans in general
Just 1 training camp with rodgers n he looks better than he did at all last year. Zach Wilson has the skills n talent to be top qb. I called it wit Tua n im callin it with Wilson. Wilson needs good mentoring good support to learn n win. But when u have high expectations n u lose its hard to develop bcuz ur tryna figure out ur mistakes n learn new defenses so it's difficult to do that but with the right support u can focus on the upcoming challenge n let ur support system set u up to address ur mistakes within wat ur next game is focusing on
As of week 4 start, Zach Wilson had logged a total of 18 days practicing as the Jets QB1. 18 days if he had practice on every day including the game days. #LFGJets
One of the worst places to struggle as a NFL Quarterback is New, York or Chicago if you're being drafted real high, which means the teams are not good.
Wilson did some of this stuff week 1. In Week 1, on more than one big third down, Wilson hit receivers in their hands and receivers dropped the ball. Same thing in week 2. Wilson made some big time throws and receivers dropped the ball..
I'm sorry, that "Zach Wilson apologist" tweet is so asinine... Of course the head coach is going to be an "apologist" for Zach Wilson... He was the 2nd overall pick. He is still young playing the most difficult position in sports. He is taking over the offense from a HOF QB who they built the entire offense around, and until a few weeks ago, no one expected he would play for the next few years... Whether you like it or not, he is the Jets best QB at the moment and they have a lot invested in him...
It took Troy Aikman 4 years to get good in nfl as they built team around him. These days after two years they woulda kicked him to the curb cause you gotta be good NOW. No room for growth.
Here’s a thought: Jets HC has been told from upon high that he has no choice but to keep Zach Wilson as QB1. So that forces him to have to be an apologist because his job depends on it. 12:53
As a cowboys fan ive always believed in zach ngl its just super unfortunate hes never had the chance to just sit back and develop he was thrown into the starting position when ye wasnt ready for it
As a Chiefs fan, I believe that holding call was warrented! It seemed at least to be pass interference because the defender was not looking to catch the pass. 😮
Don't worry, the Broncos porous defense made Justin Fields look like Joe Montana, Zach Wilson should have a good game. The Jets defense will swarm the Broncos as payback for Sean Payton slamming Nate Hackett and Zach Wilson could very well come away with a win. Unless the Broncos replace Vance Joseph first, then all bets are off.
I think pat Mahomes showing unsual amount of love to the opps qb during the postgame handshakes and interviews, never seen Mahomes endorse the other teams qb like he did for Zach Wilson
Coach just needs to line him up again his own defense have them play like the competition with all the pass rush to get his progression timed out right and to know if he needs to tuck the ball up for a sack. Honestly. Best way to get him out of his shell.
PM saw the hold and tossed it up like a free play for that would be Int. fyi. That last holding call was ticky tacky, yes, but the refs don't always see the same things as we see w/ instant replay. Also, you can't place the game on the refs for 1 missed call. There always some missed calls in every game. Complain about it, yes, but the refs didn't cause your team to lose. Play better and live w/ the knowledge that some bad calls will be made every week.
