I mean if he'd asked her out when he KNEW she was Mickey's crush then that's one thing. But all is fair in love and war, Mikey shouldn't have hesitated to ask her out, and it wasn't even like Zack went after her either. You're gonna beat up a friend for that? How much of a friend were you to begin then?

Mikey was boring. This is the only episode I actually remember him being in, and he goes after Zack for something that was out of his control. Homeboy should have asked his girl out sooner and not hesitated. All the sudden its Zacks fault he didn't know Mickey had a crush on some random chick. Zack didn't deserve to get beat up for it.
Mikey was like discount Slater: black curly mullet without the muscles. Kinda curious why half the cast from the first season including Miss Bliss (who the show was originally named after) didn't last past it. Even more interesting is knowing Jaleel White (Steve Urkel on Family Matters), Brian Austin Greene (90210), and Jonathan Brandis (Seaquest) were in an unaired pilot as the original students.
not sure it's the reason. but the show did get cancelled. NBC picked it up and repackaged it with the students being the focus. This was technically Miss Bliss' show in the first season. It felt like Saved by the Bell but Miss Bliss seemed to have a storyline going as well.
What’s interesting is that when the producers had auditions for the role of Slater, they originally had a rich Jewish guy in mind for the character. However, they liked Mario Lopez’s audition so much, that they decided to change Slater to be a Latino jock instead. I’m glad that they made the change, especially since the character Slater was originally meant to be a foil for Zack.
He quit acting because his character didn’t transition over to saved by the bell. He was so hurt that some of his cast mates was playing the same characters but he wasn’t asked back that he left acting.
That Mikey kid wasn’t a bad actor but he just wasn’t interesting. He was like their first attempt at a Slater type but it just didn’t work. They went from an Argentine-American to a Mexican-American.
The writers didn't deny the fact that the actor who played Mikey was a great actor, but unfortunately, when the show had low ratings, the writers, producers and the directors thought it was a good idea to replace the cast, because like you said, Mikey wasn't really that interesting to the viewers.
Yea socially inept needs, intellectually challenged jocks, air headed cheerleaders, overachiever slick slackers, socially aware neurotics and fashion conscious gossip queens (the last one was the only realistic one), a real blast. NOT!!!

Watching good morning Miss Bliss makes me think that children are growing up very fast.Zack still look like a boy but in the next film he look like a growing up teenager
Imagine for some random Mikey punches Zack Infront of Slater, Slater is confused and he asked Screech who this guy is, Screech is unsure about it so Slater punches Mikey "No one touches Zack" unless he deserves it. Zack points out he replaced him with Slater
Zack breathes air and therefore is a trash human. The end. See we can do that for Zack Morris and Pam Beasley. But who else? What about Bart Simpson? Cartman? Urkel? The Tanner Daughters from Full House, Budnick from Salute your Shorts?
So Zack, temporarily at least, sabotaged friendships with 1.) Mikey (on Good Morning Miss Bliss), 2.) Slater (Season 4), and 3.) Screech (also Season 4).
Zack didn't know about Mike's crush. The writers botched Lisa storyline considering Screech had Violet early on then Molly briefly. Both Zack and Slater were nuts for chasing an average looking high school senior when Zack had a college student the year before and Slater had a foreign princess. More plot devices......
In reruns, they tried saying that this was just Saved By The Bell which if you ignore the fact this takes place in Indiana as opposed to LA, you can actually believe that this was just Saved By The Bell in their jr. high years.
That’s because Good Morning, Miss Bliss didn’t do well in the ratings at the time. So the pride decided that if they changed the angle to be more about the students and their principal (instead of starring a teacher), changed the title to Saved by the Bell, changed the location to the Pallisades, CA, and and had a slightly different cast, they’ll do better in the ratings. Their theory worked.
@@1talldaddy actually you don't have to ignore Zack and Jessie being friends. Zack lives next door to jessie . So it's possible she didn't go to the same middle school as Zack but they hung out when both of them got home from school .
Mark-Paul and Mario did an outstanding job during that fight scene. It looked so real, I thought they were actually going at it. The first time I saw that scene, I thought they went completely off-script lol
Growing up, I never thought about Zack and Lisa together, I always wanted her with Slater until the one episode Zack and Lisa actually got together. Years later, now I find myself gravitating to Zack/Lisa videos more than even Zack/Kelly or anybody else. Looking back, the chemistry has been there from day one. Even MPG said he would've liked to see Zack with Lisa. Huge missed opportunity by the show not fully going for that pairing and backing down to public pressure. America wasn't ready.
That's what I'm saying, she was dropping hints like bombs for him to ask her out, and Zack didn't even know this was the girl Mikey was interested in. Not his fault for once.🤷🏽♀
This plot is like an early hybrid of what would happen in SBTB, when Zack kissed Lisa and got Screech upset, and when Zack and Slater fought over Joanna.
They forgot many things while making Saved By The Bell. Zack's dad was single and named Peter while while he's happily married and named Derek in Saved By The Bell. Belding didn't have a daughter yet had one in Saved By The Bell. Mikey & Nicky are supposed to be two of Zack's best friends yet are never mentioned in Saved By The Bell where Jesse has always been his best friend since they were kids
This may anger you (I sure did when I found out about this), but when the director, producers, and writers realized and accepted the fact that Good Morning, Miss Bliss was at low ratings, they thought that the right thing to do was get rid of the original cast and get a (then) new cast, except for Zack, Screech, and Lisa, which is why they stayed when the show was rebranded.
