One of the most talented authors of this generation visited the John Adams Institute on November 11, 2016, to read from her exuberant and ambitious new novel 'Swing Time' - published in Dutch by Prometheus Publishers. Zadie Smith’s star rose quickly with her debut novel 'White Teeth', which won multiple awards and proved Smith to be a wondrously talented writer who takes on big themes - faith, race, gender, history, and culture. She continues to address these themes in 'Swing Time' - a story of two girls who dream of being dancers, spanning over twenty years and two continents. It’s also a tale about friendship and music and stubborn roots, about how we are shaped by these things and how we can survive them.

I finished the book at this very moment and am now watching this video. Big fan of Zadie Smith and the way she builds characters that are credible, rich in details.
