Zagajička brda su jedinstveni pejzaž u Srbiji koja pripadaju Specijalnom Rezervatu Prirode "Deliblatska Peščara", i nalaze se na njenom severoistočnom obodu. Dobila su ime po obližnjem selu Zagajici, koje se vidi na snimku u smeru prema Vršačkim planinama. Postoje i bliža sela koja se nalaze u neposrednoj blizini iz kojih je moguć pristup: selo Sušara sa zapadne strane, i selo Grebenac sa južne strane.
Zagajička brda se odlikuju jedinstvenim izgledom u vidu jedinstveno oblikovanih loptastih bregova koje mnogi upoređuju sa pejzažima koji se mogu videti samo u filmu Gospodar Prstenova, koji kao da izranjaju u vidu ostrva iz prostrane Panonske ravnice. To su drevne peščane dine stepske (travne) vegetacije sa mestimičnim šumama. Ovo je jedan od poslednjih sačuvanih stepskih predela u Vojvodini koji nisu pokrila poljoprivredna zemljišta. Nastala su, kao i Deliblatska peščara, tokom poslednjeg ledenog doba, duvanjem Košave iz jugoistočnog smera. Ovaj vetar je vremenom pravio jedinstvene i veoma atraktivne stepske oblike, koji su ostali očuvani i do danas.
Zagajička brda je najbolje postetiti sredinom Maja ili krajem Oktobra. Najbolje je obići ih bajsem ili peške. Kome nije problem može i bos, pošto je podloga peskovita i veoma prijatna za noge. Savetovao bih vam da ne idete kolima ili terenskim vozilima preko ovih brda, jer se na taj način uništava ova prelepa i krhka vegetacija.

The Zagajička Hills are a unique landscape in Serbia that belong to the Special Nature Reserve "Deliblatska Peščara," and are located on its northeastern edge. They are named after the nearby village of Zagajica, which can be seen in the direction towards the Vršac Mountains. There are also closer villages that provide easy access: the village of Sušara from the west side, and the village of Grebenac from the south side.
The Zagajička Hills are characterized by a unique appearance in the form of beautifully shaped, spherical hills that many compare to landscapes that can only be seen in the movie The Lord of the Rings, appearing as if they are islands rising from the expansive Pannonian Plain. These are ancient sand dunes of steppe (grassland) vegetation with occasional forests. This is one of the last preserved steppe areas in Vojvodina that have not been overtaken by agricultural land. They were formed, like the Deliblatska Peščara, during the last Ice Age, by the blowing of the Košava wind from the southeast direction. Over time, this wind has created unique and highly attractive steppe shapes, which have been preserved to this day.
The best time to visit Zagajička Hills is in mid-May or late October. The best way to explore them is by bike or on foot. If it's not an issue for you, you can also walk barefoot, as the ground is sandy and very pleasant for the feet. I would advise you not to drive cars or off-road vehicles across these hills, as doing so damages this beautiful and fragile vegetation.
