@@magniavelin6899 but both Zagreus and Melinoe are minor figures in Greek Mythology, so where tf are they getting stats about Battle IQ and intelligence for Melinoe.
@@broken_vibez she appears in like a passage and a coin, supergiant uses minor figures like it so they can develop their own stories If we are strictly going by the myths, zagreus died as a baby so is a baby god vs an adult one
@@theanti-baloon716 funny you say that because Zeus (strongest Olympian god who is male) shat his britches at even the thought of angering nyx (female primordial deity)
pov in my theory : Permament Death to Cronos "like artifact thing that didnt become useable" summons zagreus to bring permament death to cronos note: Sore fore may engrishu
@pozeunderground8737 I preferred Zagreus as a character. He's wittier, more charming and endearing. But I would be lying if I said I didn't prefer looking at Melinoë lmao. I like both characters tbf, very much enjoying Hades 2.
Melinoe does not die because of the conventions of the game, because she does not have the opportunity to be reborn, which is present in the Zag. Speaking of strength: they are completely different. Melinoe had been preparing to kill a titan since childhood, when Zag was just learning a martial craft to KNOW him. In a one-on-one fight, the one who is in a better position from the very beginning would win. As for me, the melee is for the Zag when the long one is for Melinое
@@laubra5227In Zags defense everyone else gets immediately frozen by Chronos, Mel trained her whole life and much more resistant against the time freeze
@@VisibleNoises you can also pause the game against Chronos and sure the first fight he will unpause it but after that you can have Melinoe do a spell which makes it so Chronos can’t unpause you anymore, and he losses his mind at that.
Zag was also taught to fight by Achilies from early childhood. However, he wasn't purpose trained to kill the titan of time, so there is that. Still, Zag shouldn't be sold short.
@@joomping-rngnah u the incel here. Melinoe ends hades father chronos who is literally more powerful than hades and zagreus. I dunno how the fuck people try to blatantly ignore this.
@@putfunnynamehere21657-technically, it should be possible to beat both games without the help of boons, provided you're skilled enough. Of course, in game you don't have much choice.
@@slugintub634 Even so, she bests not only one Titan but two, she can hold her own in a fight with Hecate who shows a very similar skill set to even Hades, her skills translate well to other potential opponents
Now as someone whos been playing the Beta release, Zag definitely feels faster and harder hitting with his collection of weapons that Mel, but Mel has WAY more versatility. Zag has a lot more innate mobility options without boon, and without upgrades, his infernal arms are QUITE devestating (looking at you aspect of Chiron) Mel on the other hand has a far more depthful and versatile combat skills without upgrades due to everything from her attack, special, and cast all having charged variants that change how they act and function, though from my testing her weapons tend towards being a tad less powerful on their own, and her mobility is not nearly as high as Zags without upgrades. All and all both are equal fighters, they simply prioritize oposing combat styles.
@@darkzap_ttsbro zagreus was literally no diffed by chronos. What on earth are you yapping about? I still think zag is cooler than melinoe but I'm not such a liar that I can't admit that melinoe is just stronger than zagreus canoncially.
They’ll most likely share similar abilities and traits with the both of them being a hybrid of fighter and caster. The differences I assume are that Zagreus is more fighter based while Milinoë is caster based. Which makes sense looking at their teachers in the game and trailer.
OK now that it's out (kinda) I have to say this isn't accurate. Speed should not go to zag. And neither should potential or even half of these. He's stronger and more durable and that's kinda about it
Now that early access is released, it’s safe to say that Melinoe solos Zagreus in every way possible. Like I love Zagreus, he’s my favorite character, but his strength is actually *nothing* compared to not only the physical strength his sister possesses but the mental fortitude and discipline to master magic, on top of the pressure she faced on all sides
tbh melinoë is very much faster bc of her innate sprint, if we disregard all boons her potential is drastically higher due to her arcanas and her casts now if we are counting boons too, holy hell melinoë is, WAY stronger and way more powerful- if we are seeing boons' in game strength as its canon performance, hades 2 boon choices are way better than hades 1 (demeter boon actually good, Glamour Gain buff being absolutely cracked...) all in all this is just inaccurate lmao
Unless we see zagreus fight chronos this can’t be proven or disproven. For now, she’s stronger, she’s trained since birth for the soul purpose of stopping chronos
As the game has now come out im going to have to disagree as in hades 2 the main villian is the titan of time as the final boss a much stronger person then hades
Lol now that the future is here, lemme just say: Melinoe managed to kill CHRONOS. MILTIPLE TIMES. A feat that took six gods working together to achieve. Zagreus defeated a God, sure, but Melinoe literally killed Time. Melinoe is definitely stronger.
Now that the games out, this is still accurate. Zag is more warrior type, Meg is more magic-y type. I think it’d come at least a little closer, though. Mel is a lot more versatile. And she was, you know, actually raised.
Chaos > Zeus > Chronos > Hades = Poseidon > Melinoe > Zagreus Within the Hades game universe, of course, in mythology Zeus must be more powerful than Chaos itself as well.
Melinoë would win because as the goddess of ghosts and nightmares, couldn't she just summon an army of ghosts? Or cause nightmares by her true mythical appearance?
fam she is being absolutely fucking obliverated in the trailer, meanwhile Zagreus defeats the king of the underworld multiple times just to see his mother, he clearly has the upper hand
@@Gadiller-we7wl Yes. But again, Melinoë can summon ghosts and shapeshift to traumatize people or scare them. She wanders nights with a train of ghosts to frighten humankind.
@@MythoTexts She's clearly going to be either nerfed or completely re-done as a character. Zagreus was associated with death, yet in the game he is related to it only because he's the son of hades, nothing else.
@@Gadiller-we7wl Zagreus in the myths was already a god of blood and rebirth, that's what he is in the game. He ended up being eaten alive by Titans, Athena saved his heart, Zeus swallowed the heart and then Dionysus was born! Dionysus is the reincarnation of Zagreus. But for Melinoë, she is still the goddess of ghosts.
Now that the games is out and this popped up it has to be confirmed that melinoe is stronger because chronos beat zag and hades and melinoe killed chronos so dub actually goes to melinoe in my opinion
Huh? Zagreus was raised a prince, not fighting until he finally tried to escape. Melinoë literally knows NOTHING but the fight for her Family and is (probably) of the same blood as Zagreus. Although her combat style definitely is „wits over strength“-y, i dont think that some of these points should go to Zagreus.
You also seem to forget most gods are practically given combat capabilities out the gate/are extremely gifted in combat even Achilles stated that much and even higher up Hades himself praises Zag for he's combat prowess.
I have a theory for Hades 2 Final for Underworld (not for surface) in my theory : Permament Death to Cronos "like artifact thing that didnt become useable in early access" after it will become useable it will summon zagreus to bring permament death to cronos or help his sister note: Sore fore may engrishu
If it was just them in their own it probably is actually close, yet she achieved the higher victory. Not sure how you would properly judge the blessings for this, especially Chaos and Nyx.
@@shadowdemon9043 it depends on the titan, cronos for example is stronger, because in addition to having the strength of a titan, he was the god of time, so much so that zeus did not defeat him alone, but rather with his brother poseidon and hades, with the help of the hecatonchires
Aveces pienso por que cambiaron de protagonista en la secuela pero luego recuerdo que Zagreo quedó muy fuerte al final del juego el si tuviera la misma resistencia a la magia de Kronos que su hermana vencería a Kronos justo cuando aparece
