Wave controllers are indeed ranged dps normally. Because heir bodies are incredibly weak in themselves, it's usually quite easy to defeat them. That is why the guys were shocked when he showed them wave controlling because before he went meele fighting so they espected him to be fisherman or something. Normal wave controller would not dare to go close combats.
Nostalgic seeing this scene, I remember years ago thinking that it would take a real while before Bam reappears and Wangnan would be the main focus for S2. Then hyped back up when long-haired Bam reappeared. Though I'm kinda disappointed they cut out Yuri's goofy dialogue with Repellista from the webtoon, saying that she found Bam really handsome and was fawning on him bad, that's why she's insistent that he should still be alive.
i just reread the first few chapters of the webtoon, and theres like barely any cut content, just a couple changed dialogues and nothing that affects the story was cut. also the art style shift sorta matches with the webtoon too, the authors art style also changed from season 1 and 2 from what i remember. all in all, great first episode imo
just some side info that isnt shown in the anime (cut content) Repellista's butler's name is Alumik Edrok and it is shown that he isnt just the butler but also her guide. Edrok is the same family name as Evan, Yuri's Guide. This is all from Season 2 Issue 0.

It looks like they changed the animation of it this season, but that's definitely what it is. I remember in the webtoon they actually all comment on it in typical anime fashion like "no way" or some shit.

I find it strange in the beginning because his name is "Ja Wangnan" how did that name changed into "Oujinaru" in anime? Just to be sure for the non manhwa readers return of the prince is a set up arc for the next one it’s damn good one but doesn’t reach peaks of the non stop top tier story telling of the next few arcs.
Season 1 may not be the best of TOG but trust me,when people saw season 2,especially everyting after the first season, it will hook you back in. Is that good

Ngl Bam despite the training seems weaker then season 1 better control of shinsu sure but he causally walked in shinsu equivalent to this level before knowing what it was and was fine yet little poke ball bombs damage him Wangnan got that plot armor fr.
It's in the manhwa to, they just did a shitty Job of elaborating. They weren't shinsu bombs, they were actual bombs. He thought they were shinsu but they weren't so he didn't guard/avoid them which is how they were able to do so much damage. At this point his body is not physically powerful, although super resistant to shinsu based attacks, it's fragile to actual physical attacks
@hwe3958 what's your point? That they made him lose to bombs since his body can't handle physical damage well ? You called them shinsu bombs, they're not shinsu bombs. And this happened in the manhwa as well
Tower of god season 2 turn into s1 or classroom of the elite s1 to s3 type mid adaptation again . But i don't mind beacuse atleast better than the promise neverland season 2 and tokyo ghoul re . They adapt same as 90% to 93% or max 94% webtoon source material and cut some minor scene / dialogue . Im supporting tog s2 beacuse i want more tower of god anime season in the future .
