You're right, the title is inaccurate and doesn't display what he was actually doing. Kongulu wasn't staying to fight the rebels approaching Kinshasa, he didn't have the guts. He had no military training and only knew how to torture civilians. He took a few of his father's soldiers to settle scores and kill ministers, businessmen and generals he felt betrayed his father. He had a list, most of those people were unarmed at this time and were probably with their families trying to flee or hide. He felt brave because he had a few men around him and it wasn't a fair fight. He had no problem fighting his fellow 'Zaireans' but had no smoke for the foreign rebels invading his city to overthrow his father. After killing those he considered traitors he fled to Brazzaville. He died of AIDS in Monaco, but I'm sure being in exile and his dad dying was a shock to him and sped up his death sentence.

@@feyrol42 WE were there. I met him that night during this patrol. It was thé last Time i Saw him. He just told me to stay home because of dangerous situation in Kinshasa. People use to talk about things they don't really know for blind hate's sake

@@feyrol42 He was an officer of Army intelligence service SARM. He had military training,a green beret from Kota koli commandos training center . He was captain . Don't say nonsense just because you hate his father.

@@pepedikuta7171 Nothing to do with his father, he was a grown man and did his own part to destroy the DRC, his own country. Kongulu was trouble on his own, at least his father worked to get where he was (even if it was by unethical means). Kongulu had everything handed to him and somehow still ended up mediocre. You don't know me or what I know about the Mobutu family. You are probably related to them or related to one of the MPR sycophants , so you feel the need to defend his bullshit when everything is documented. I told not one single lie, there's no nonsense in my statement. He could not fight the rebels that literally invaded the capital. He fled just as they were approaching because he was a spoilt, pampered boy without his father he was nothing and his own sins caught up to him. No wonder he died like a dog from AIDS in Monaco. C'est la vi!

@@dubcotics and Mobutu was a dear friend of the US. He betrayed his country to sell Congo’s wealth to them. Don’t bring up the US when Mobutu was their lap dog until they had no need for him and left him to his enemies and sickness.

@@feyrol42 , you shouldn’t debate on things you do not master. The US is still creating havoc in the Congo via their Rwandan puppets. I lived and I from the congo, a place you lot cannot even put on a map, yet, you wanna lecture me on geopolitics.
