Lately he just streams to fill the hours quota twitch asks, sometimes he wants to leave sooner but reminds himself that the quota isn't filled yet, which I mean it's understandable since it's genshin and it hasn't too much content to begin with. It's literally to pay the bills, I just wished he did more variety games as content so he could get excited with Genshin and less jaded.

i saw him live watching 5.0 stream and decided to not watch him because i already know he will always nitpick something and yap about it. here after coming to comments looks like that's what happened.
Because he's pretty much tied to the game if he wants to keep living off twitch revenue, but his variety streams get like a fourth of his Genshin viewership at best, so he's scared to just drop the game because that would be unsustainable. Streaming is very rarely just a hobby for people that don't have an actual job or some kind of passive income like rental property.
Most genshin ccs are either bored or don't like the game much because of how much they play it. They just pretend to like it, unlike zajef. At least he's honest

It's almost like he didn't upload a livestream reaction for a reason. He's already reacted to the parts he cares about (new characters, artifacts and the artifact selector) almost a month ago. TCs can't stay on Hoyo's reveal pace or people will go elsewhere for coverage of leaked kits that look exciting. And so the part of the game he likes is mostly old news by the time he can actually see it in-game, so he sometimes has to catch Ls for clip farmers like Zajef Daily uploading his filler unedited.
The thing about the ceo crocodile tears stuff, man I really don't feel like you think through half the shit you say in your takes. First off it's mostly related to the insane toxic drama from the cn side. Doxxing employees, death threats, bullying, cat-killing etc. Being a ceo of a company doesn't automatically make you less human than anyone else, and while the thing about gacha games being predatory by nature is absolutely true, that doesn't justify anyone dehumanizing the devs or people working for the company. Even the ceo. People choose to play these games, but people don't choose to get harassed, doxxed etc. Also consider the alternatives; Genshin would not be even close to what it is without the gacha elements that allow it to fund what I consider to be one of my favorite games. The ceo could be a total jack ass like we've seen a million times, but if you look at this guy's past he's been diligent and a lot more invested in gaming itself compared to a lot of the people running gaming companies who have 0 interest in games, and actively make the employees lives hell. I don't know the full story about how Hoyo operates, but you don't either. "They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt because they run a gacha game" (paraphrasing) Well youtubers, influencers, journalists etc. use predatory tactics to keep viewers engaged and committed despite them being better off going to work, hanging out with friends, studying, working out etc. It's not the same thing, I know; but it's not entirely different either. By the same logic bartenders are automatically not to be given the benefit of the doubt when they get emotional. It's been clear for so long, and been getting more and more clear that not only do you hate this game, but you are totally jaded when it comes to people too. This sort of judgmental outlook is not only harmful for your own life, but actively spreads with those you interact with. I personally have to stop watching your content because it's so contagious with this negativity. I genuinely appreciate the content over the years, but I think you should make content for games you enjoy.
I don't think Zajef seems like he hates Genshin, he's just more critical and maybe a tinge more cynical than some people would prefer. And it stands out a bit from the rest of the CC landscape when you see other people talk all excited and hyped about everything for this game. But he's valid. I think ppl (and Zajef here) saying Da Wei's merely offering "crocodile tears" is a bit much though. It's fair for him to be proud of leading the company to the staggering success it has today through a lot of challenges. That said, I do think that comment from Da Wei of "we need to hear which voices are coming from our REAL travelers" rubs some people the wrong way because it COULD be read as hoyo just filtering out what they don't want to hear because "oh that's not from our actual fans." I think it's especially bad in the context of the ongoing skin color discourse. Granted idk if Da Wei's even referring to that in the speech, it probably is largely or entirely unrelated drama from CN like u say, but that hasn't stopped ppl from both sides of the aisle from associating it with this skin color discourse.

@@nicelight7794 To give some context about the "we need to hear which voices are coming from real travelers", its about this thing in China where rival companies would buy negative reviews of your products, so him saying that could mean filtering out bought negative reviews and actual criticisms players have with the game. The whole buying negative reviews of genshin already happened when it first launched, I think it was Tencent who bought those reviews because Hoyoverse didn't want to get bought by them
I am not saying that emotional manipulation is not a thing, its 100% a thing and you should keep that in mind. But when seeing someone (at least) appear emotional and loss for word and your first thought is "they are trying to manipulate to get something out of me" you should go and see a psychiatrist because that's not normal. Nah, I'm with Zajef on this one. It's a nice QoL feature, but it's not going to give you more total artifact exp or anything like that. If 1 to 4 stars are keeping your inventory full then you could have just feeded into one your artifacts. If 5 stars are the problem you could have used strongbox. This new feature just allows players to be lazy, which is still good though.
@@NLwino it actualy is going to, genshin is never going to give good artifacts every time you kick a rock. If I need to empty my backpack by leveling trash artifacts, that's EXP and Mora that's wasted because using a Lv. 17 artifact on another artifact does not equal 17 levels, is actualy less. So having more of those bottles is amazing.
Fodder system is better than zajef is giving credit for it allows you to bank exp more efficiently taking less artifact space AND dodging the exp decay from feeding in leveled artifacts.
The history of Hoyoverse is not what you think. They were on the point of being bankrupt not very long ago at all. Of course things has changed with Genshin but he can still feel pressure as a CEO.

Heck, statistically speaking, for most situations, Favonius Sword is usually Kazuha's 3rd best weapon. His best weapon is a choice between Xiphos' Moonlight and Freedom-Sworn depending on the circumstances.

I was one of the guys who requested both Artifact addressed Features in the Video. Cause I tend to just collect Artifacts without using them (Genshin Optimizer is still a complex thing to me). So converting the 4 Star and lower Artifacts to Artifacts XP is useful to me. Since they addressed it, I guess many people have requested it. Same for the new Elixir. I just requested some kind of same mechanic to the HSR stuff to choosing an Affix and it also seems many people requested it. So I am personally glad they added both (and even surpassed the HSR one).

I have repeatedly requested salvaging artifacts into "fodder" in the in-game surveys, this will be _so_ convenient for me, since artifacts are still intimidating for me, trying to figure what's _worth_ leveling. This is _the_ change I was most excited about, since now I can free up my space without choosing between tasking myself to judgment calls and wasting artifact EXP, the latter being what I've taken to doing with three-stars and lesser. I assure you, there's those amongst us who are into this change.
It's a great change for me too. Some people might love going through their artifacts and leveling them up every day, but I often just farm in a day and look at them together many days later when I have the time, which I find more time efficient. Especially before they changed the max limit in inventory last time, I often used to run out of space.

I watch him just for pre-release/post-release too, but with Natlan so close I got excited with the game and I tried to watch his streams again lately and oh boy I got reminded how things work there really quick, all the constant fights with viewers and the patronizing. It doesn't help that he's too emotional towards moralism aswell and gets annoyed with chat about anything between politcs/racial/lgbtq and feels the need to patronize everyone about it everytime.

I've seen so many people acting like 5.0 is God's gift to earth when if you just think about it it's... just hoyo throwing us a couple bones for the first time in Genshin's history. People are acting like they just went above and beyond to show us appreciation when all they've done is a worse version of what most non hoyo gachas already do (tons of gachas don't limit the free anniversary 5 star to bad, outdated standard characters...) with a couple of nice QoL changes. I agree there's some nice changes of course and I'm interested to see where the story in Natlan goes and what the new characters kits are but with many of the changes it's more that's nice, but it really should have been here earlier.

Because if you step outside the hoyo bubble you'll see that giving free bad units is nothing special, nor is any of the other changes we're seeing.
