Imagine having a buddy like Zakk Wylde coming over to your house and being like, "hey wanna hear a little song I wrote?". Then playing this for you. Amazing song, vocals are insane. Very raw and natural.
I'm sorry, I love BLS, and I loved the ozzy years that zakk played with him. But this is why zakk wylde Has my respect. This is the best I've ever seen him.
This is the Zakk I remember when I met him and the rest of the band in Montreal (except Ozzy..Sharon wouldn't let him out to play) on the 'No More Tours' tour...clean cut long hair kid like we all were. Ozzy's band was staying in the same hotel as us...we ran into them in the lounge and Zakk, Randy, Mike and the tour manager came up to our room and we shared some beers and some laughs. We ran into them later that night at a strip joint on St Catherine.s street. They saw us come in and immediately waved us over to their table like we were old friends. Was awesome. Every chic in the place was around our table. Certainly one trip I'll never forget. All super cool guys. Randy Costillo R.I.P.
If he sung more like this he wouldn't only be a legendary guitarist but vocalist too. This is awesome. I like the his other singing too but this is just awesome.
Man I know that many of you think dimebag is a better guitar player than Zakk but they both are known for playing different styles. Just appreciate the greatness in both.
I met Zakk a few years ago and got to talk to him for a while. He's truly one of the nicest people I've ever met, and he's always been up there on my list of the all-time greats.
Tell me what a young man Mama What's he got to live for Tossed in the shuffle of everyday war Searchin' for some trouble Which I'm sure he will find Spend your whole life fightin' son Meet your dyin' time It's a shame It's a shame The trigger be his only friend It's a shame, oh yeh But it ain't never gonna end He's a pocketful of hate That don't give a damn What fate awaits the machine gun man? Well, he ain't got no future And he ain't got no plan What fate awaits the machine gun man? I can't see tomorrow And I don't see today Trail of confusion done leadin' my way They say the only thing worth killin' Lord Be killin' time I say the only soul worth savin' now Mama Resavin' mine It's a shame It's a shame The trigger be his only friend It's a shame, oh yeh But it ain't never gonna end He's a pocketful of hate That don't give a damn What fate awaits the machine gun man? Well, he ain't got no future And he ain't got no plan What fate awaits the machine gun man? He keeps shootin' mama like any old fool would do Lord, the life he be leadin' ain't the one he has to choose As he walks on out that door Mama breaks down to cry As she waves the machien gun man Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye Songwriters: Zakk Wylde
The worst part about watching this is realizing that there is nothing this good coming out in rock nowadays..... Thanks a lot creed for making generic rock big....
Zakk awesome stuff as usual been watchin and listenin to him since i was 15..once tripped at his house with bernie and eric rofl those were the days sup Jackson.NJ :)
Not only is his singing great on this one, but the tone he is getting from his guitar is truly fantastic. You know the greats because they make it look and sound easy. A legendary clip from a legendary performer. Go Zakk!
Pure gold! Zakk is a legit multidimensional musician. One of the best performances of just guitar and voice I’ve ever heard. His guitar playing is so full and expressive it sounds like a full band behind him
If not trolling, Zakk Wylde joined Ozzy Osbourne's band and gained fame through that and his own band, Black Label Society. He's much older now and very well known, due in part to his incredible talent.
I wish Zakk had continued on this path. Got nothing against BLS but he has such a great soulful voice and technique for Southern rock and blues type rock. I saw Pride and Glory many years ago it was an awesome show and Book of Shadows as well as Pride and Glory are two of my favorite all time albums.
i got to meet zakk at a concert and i learned this song as soon as i bought the tickets and i played this song backstage with him i swear iv been touched by god this man is god!
I think this is the best mother trucking Lone Ranger tribute song i have ever heard. Trigger Be His Only Friend I can't stop watching this want to play guitar like this and wish i had that voice. When he is old he will have a walking stick made by Gibson. Respect to Zakk !!!!!!
sittin on the porch, down south, tall glass of ice tea, hot day, and a tune like this....my version on the jamaican saying..."no problem mon" .......the best thanx for the vid.
Jesus Christ Fucking Dimebag wasnt even close. Zakk wouldnt admit it. But its the truth. Zakk would shred dimebag. Fucking Pantera fanboys are soo deluded.
zakk is my favorite guitarist and rock singer man. he is so underrated its crazy, this guy has more talent in his left pinky finger than lady gaga and justin bieber put together
Just straight and breathtaking. Things like this almost keeps you out of learning guitar and vocals. Let's leave music to real talented musicians. Life is easier while listening and enjoying them.
I've sat up for hours pouring my soul into the guitar. I've done the same sampling drums from old jazz albums and arranging them just right in Cubase. It all comes from the same place. Don't be so close minded. That said, there's something about an acoustic solo performance that is magical.
You got it all wrong man. Zakk wasn't born, but slowly materialized into our plain of existence, from somewhere far beyond our reality. These were the early years, shortly after his materialization, and his beard had yet to fully pierce the veil of this world, lingering still in whatever realm Zakk came from.
this sounds like his Book Of Shadows Album, that was some of his best work on the acoustic guitar and the Lyrics are incredible, "what you were looking for", way beyond empty, and more I love them all
Heavy and Happy 44th birthday Zakk!!!! Keep it Metal and real!!!! And make more records so we can enjoy metal in on its glory...and a southern styled solo project would be great!!
