Guitar player here who loves both Zakk and Dime. As much i love Zakk he will never be Dime ...Dime was a finesse player and didn't pick every note. Very smooth but also fierce. Zakk plays like a lumber jack chopping down trees with his bare hands. He picks every note ferociously and has no finesse whatsoever. I never got to see Pantera with the original lineup and it's something i will always be sad about...but i just saw Pantera with Zakk and Charlie in Camden, NJ and Metlife and both times the show was incredible. I'm just grateful to be able to hear these amazing songs live and they're being done really well.
Dime will always be better than Zakk. That’s not a knock on Zakk’s skills but Dimebag always came off like he could play ANYTHING effortlessly, make it look easy, and have a ball while doing it.
@@The.David.Robert This just goes to show how amazing Dime was. Zakk is an outstanding guitar player, but Dime was better. He isn't worse because of it, but Dime was better.
A lot of people need to understand that Zakk Wylde is not trying to play like Dime, He don't need too. He is Killing the Song in his own Style and thats what Seperates a Lengend to an Average Guitar Player.
Would kinda be like i🎉f John 5 improvised his solos on the Mötley Crüe tour. More fans wanna hear Pantera, not Zakks version of Pantera, however cool it may be.

Dime is loving this I’m 100% positive. Vinny, on the other hand was the selfish one that blamed others for no reason. Great drummer, but come on. He was kinda a dick for holding this back. Both their estates were all for this.
I think it’s a good homage to the OG line up but I am definitely grateful for being able to say I saw PanterA before they split up. AND that I have a signed Washburn guitar singed by Dimebag. Something I will always cherish.
Born in 93 and had one chance to see them in 2001 with my older cousin taking me, parents found out and canned it... One of the few things I hold resentment towards them for to this day. :(

Phil getting his voice back is a godsend. Pantera was cut short on the sourest of notes and i feel its good to honor the legacy instead of letting it end the hateful way it did.
Phil left Pantera in 95 to go on a tour with Down while promising Pantera he would treat his back pain... instead, he stuffed his face with painkillers and heroin to deal with it and remained with his junkie diva behavior throughout the rest of the 90s like recording "The Great Southern Trendkill" isolated from the band and having his voice in horrendous condition live... Until the 2000s when, again, he left Pantera but this time for good to be with his second band, Superjoint. Phil is a fiIthy human being and no, I don't think he's racist or whatever, he's ignorant and self-centered. I can't believe fans simply forgot how much of a headache Phil was professionally...

Gotta give massive props to Pantera, they really were gamechangers. They breathed much needed life into Hardcore Metal. Still miss Dimebag bigtime tho. R.I.P. 🤟.
One of the best. He's so talented and always plays so intensely that I could listen to him play 24/7. He makes it look so easy, but we all know it's not. The bonus? Just check out those strong, beautiful arms!!!! He's got it all❤

Iam a fan of ZAk W..But, he nowhere the beast Dimebag was...I saw them both in 1990..dime fuckin blew my mind..I never seen that kind of guitar playin..I was in shock
It wouldn’t matter- it doesn’t work that way!!! Gear is one thing, but it’s not everything!! Besides, Dimes gear has changed a few times over the years!!! The bottom line is: The Player Is Always The Deciding Factor-They are The Most important part of the chain!!!

The other two guys in the band have a right to move on and move forward and pay tribute to the brothers which is what they’re doing. If they want to call themselves Pantera, they have every right to.

Zakk is one of the best guitarist that ever lived, he obviously has a different sense of rhythm and feel than dime. Shows that skill alone isn't the only ingredient to attack

Tho I love what they are doing i still have the words of Vinnie burned in my brain saying basically that without Dime and if something happens to him…… There is no Pantara period!! Dime and Vinny are on my music studio wall of rock/metal heroes and as much as i love Rex for wanting-it all to continue I could never get myself to see this lineup and its just me… i love Zach but he gives little justice in my eyes to anything close to Dime….. As always, keep on rocking!! Long live Pantara s music 🤘🤘🤘🤘!!! Props to Phil for now all cleaned up I am so proud of him and actually sounding better then 20 years ago when he was so strung out and fucked up mentally and physically he could barely sing. I know he and Rex are trying to keep the Pantara legacy going but I just don’t think its what Dime and Vinnie would have wanted unfortunately!!!
As someone who has been a Pantera fan since my teens, (was raised a short drive from their studio/party house) I'm totally fine with Zakk's playing on all the songs. Not sure there is any guitarist out there who could nail every Dimebag riff anyway.
Zakk said that Pantera fans shouldn’t expect him to play like Dimebag. I’m 110% cool with that as both musicians are/were amazing & Dimebag would just be happy that Zakk, his friend in life, wants to play guitar for Pantera’s tour.

Zakk is doing an excellent job! No it doesn't sound like Dime but i really dont think it should sound like him note for note. Charlie is killing it as well. I was fortunate enough to see Pantera's live show a few times throughout the 90's and the only other band to throw down as hard as them was Slayer! Best 2 live bands I've seen.

Zakk isn’t competing with dime, he’s playing the song in his own style as a tribute to his best friend to honor the brilliant music that he created. Haters just shut up already go watch something else
