Every year I hike at least one week on the AT with friends. This group of backpackers formed as a spin off of the Scouts BSA troop our sons had joined. We have expanded our backpacking to include long weekends in the spring and fall as well as a winter backpacking trip in January or February. Understandably, the winter outing is not as well attended as the other three!
We have some new hikers joining us on the AT trip this summer and they wanted a shakedown backpacking trip to review old and learn new skills. It was another wonderful experience for all involved.
