This is one of my favorite sections...Really hit me like a brick. Reality is a lens, not a collection of objects. Laws are not physical, they are mental, even though we have been trained to reify them.
As Hume & Kant would suggest .. yes ' Gravity' as we categorize it (in a space & time frame of the mind apriori) is nicely explained by our minds and nicely reinforced as such as agreed upon by consensus of other 'observers'. So when you pass .. nothing occurs.. 'death' only occurs at that 'time' to other observers ie your friends;).. Docs.. Nurses etc.. Your next thought is sensing something as you observe your (what we call 'a hand') .. as a new born observer now gathering new apriories of which your mothers eyes are the first. Your biological pattern 'vehicle' has no record of any prior priories. (Maybe maybe.. unless collective apriories stay attached as patterns to all.. ie. Previous 'lives' 'experienced' by some.. maybe maybe.
First I want to thank you for your endeavor to "spread the gospel" of the MOQ. Pirsigs two books have had a great impact on me. I have just decided to produce my own book reviews and become active in spreading the gospel as well. Hope to be in touch in the future. I am based in the Netherlands.
Bravo..good theme about ghosts. One of the YT videos that I enjoy is looking at semiconductor architecture under 200x magnification. I used to work at Advance Micro devices as security. Got to watch the wafer production at all stages. I kind of believe that these old chips still have a undetectable eddy current of electrons still flowing. My ghost in the machine... As far as mass hypnotic teaching and religion..mmmm
Akin to 'r' 't' morphemed 'Write'.. flow of electrons as interface pattern layers between discernable step change layers. IMHO indeed could be one of many unseen patterns(forces) that exist in some of the math dimensions of 11 of the 3..4.. we know of..(well 'science' 'math' 11.. of infinite hypotheses somewhat illusory of course)
Soooo... The 'universe' only exists in ones own mind.. its only that your friends observations(data) tend to harmonize (quality) with your own and thus by consensus what you sense is what others also sense(you think they do).. but never precisely the same data as yours as each biological pattern is infinitely unique. .. But! of course not even a lone observer will sense in the same way the same pattern of value over time.. ie observe say an inorganic pattern of value, in the same way(data) over time.. .. as the apriori (data stream).. gives your concept of that pattern a frame of time & space of course.
