Hurts is elite and Silz acting like a child unable to accept he's WRONG. Hey SILZ how does it feel to be ***WRONG*** Your feelings not reality. Live with it.
No one should view Jalen Hurts from the Hill of a Brady, Montana, Mahomes or P. Manning or even Marino, Rodgers, Elway or Farve. All of those guys are/were elite throwers of the Football. Silz has consistenly said that its foolish to compare Mahomes and Hurts. I FULLY AGREE! He should be compared with similar QB's. Steve McNair, Cam Newton, DONOVAN MCNABB, Russell Wilson, or Steve Young, who was the best of those style QB's. They were all limited in one way or another but had similar skill sets to Jalen Hurts. We watched Donovan McNabb develop in Philadelphia. He was a tough competetor with great running ability and a good arm. But always struggled with complex defensive schemes that forced him to throw intermediate passes. Many of which ended up short of the receiver in the dirt. McNair was a physical elusive runner, tough as nails, a great leader with a big arm, but had difficulty diagnosing defenses. Newton was a physical freak that could run over a linebacker and outrun a DB, but never had the level of accuracy to throw his team out of trouble. Russell Wilson WAS a great scrambler with a big arm but because of his height has always struggled seeing over the line and throwing midfield. Much like Hurts, he always needed a great running game (Marshawn Lynch) to provide more time to set up rollouts and bootlegs so that he could see the field better which made him ELITE for several years. And Finally Steve Young, who could beat you with his head, arm or legs. A great, tough, smart leader that's the standard bearer for mobile QB's. But early in his career, like most mobile QB's, was prone to leave the pocket too soon because of his great running ability. And later in his career, stay in TOO LONG because of his toughness! Which ultimately ended his career. His numbers werent gaudy, but he was one of, if not, the most efficient QB's of all time. If the Eagles continue to use Hurts EFFICIENTLY he will be an ELITE QB for years to come. Last weeks game illustrated what he's capable of when you have him make the RIGHT PLAY vs trying to make him a gunslinger.
