Might be a manga reference since characters are known to use different cards there. Manga Jaden’s aces include E-hero Terra Firma and the masked heroes, which I’m near certain never appear at all in GX anime.
@@Legoluke197 Zane in the manga didnt Duel a lot, and I dont recall a reference of it. He only used OG Cyber Dragons with Cyber End, Cyber Emergency and Eltanin.
I think it would've been really interesting to see Zane appear in Arc-V tbh, probably would've been OP with all that newer Cyber Dragon support, and probably could've gave Z-arc a run for his money.
I like the theory that he might have infiltrated the Xyz Dimension as a spy in the early stages of the war. That way, there will be a retroactive explanation as to why the Cyber Dragon archetype features both Fusion and Xyz monsters.
Cyber dragons have exceeds because fusion and exceed is essentially the same concept taking other monsters putting them together to make a bigger better monster but in the case of Cyber dragons they didn't get very big they just gained more effects so exceed fits very well for that as they can get big but for the most part they just gain a lot of effects
Let’s face it they should have used Zane instead of beast boy. Like I love that glad beast got a shot in the anime but imagine if Zane just rampages though a bunch of the arc v cast before needing to be taken down by jack and yuya. Like imagine if he was a rouge duelist and whips out against yuya 1v1 an xyz summon of Nova and a rank up into infinity before jack gets there.
@BlueBlazeKing in that case, they could've made him the other duelist alongside Dennis as a spy in the xyz dimension and nova + infinity be his xyz monsters that way
I think you’re right. But I think instead of fortress dragon, it might have been referring to Chimeratech Overdragon instead since I believe he did use overload to summon that card in the show.
I really think that perhaps the original plan for the Legacy cameos was to: -Have the iconic rivals from the previous series show up (Jack, Kaito AND Zane, cuz yes, Zane was Jaden's biggest rival back in GX whom he never defeated) -Have a secondary iconic rival or best friend (Crow, Edo AND Shark) -And for my own wish fulfillment, the Female dueling leads (only Asuka came back but I've imagined what if Akiza had been like a secret agent also traveling in between the dimensions to find out what exactly is Academia's plan since Synchro Dimension was kinda neutral before it got introduced. As for Zexal, I would put the money on Rio if Shark had been added to the show and also because Kotori never really had a dueling role in Zexal)

Kaiba is a legend for his blue Eyes, joey is a legend for always being in a top theree, public only know yugi and atem as the same person but then again he beat atem during the final duel thuse cemented him as the true king of games. I think almost all of the og gang earn the spot of legendary duelist except tea and joey friends.
Traveling to the Xyz Dimension is what causes the creation of Cyber Dragon Nova & Cyber Dragon Infinity. Traveling to any dimension within the Link timeline lets him create Cyber Dragon Sieger as well as Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon, etc., etc. Then he just shows up as a duelist opponent with an incredibly overpowered Cyberdark/Dragon deck.
Zane was always a character who’d adapt his strategies if it meant he had better chances at winning. Would have be interesting to see him in Arc-V start off with exclusively fusions then adopt xyz into his strategies and gain cyber dragon nova and infinity.
My theory is that Ryo Marifuji (Zane) in Arc V, was a top student commander of the fusion dimension before Aster , until he defected to the XYZ dimension . There , he discovered the XYZ monster support for his Cyber Dragon like Cyber Dragon Nova and Cyber Dragon Infinity.
How I would imagine Zane being portrayed in Arc-V: Graduates Academia as Hell Kaiser. Goes to Xyz Dimension. Sees that, instead of worthy opponents, he's being sent to essentially slaughter children. Gets disgusted with Academia's ways, casts aside the Hell Kaiser persona, and joins the Resistance, adding Xyz Summoning to his arsenal via Cyber Dragon Nova/Infinity.
If Zane is somehow similar to his GX version, then he definitely is the guy that abandons Duel Academy and Fusion Dimension just to go to other dimensions just to boost his own deck (cof cof XYZ CyberDragon supoort cof cof)

It would be amazing to see Cyber Dragons in Arc V because the deck is constantly relevant in some form. Plus Zane is regarded as one of, if not the best duelist in the series. So having him as a force of nature that requires the best duelists to slow him down would be amazing.
I could see Zane just whipping out Cyber Dragon Infinity and saying something like "My power does not stop, does not end! My limits go beyond fusion, my power is infinite! Be born from that power, Cyber Dragon Infinity!!"
I would love to see him in arc v, and I do believe that he was intend to have a role similar to Asuka, but the writers scraped him when they realize they haven't add a female legacy character. I wish we could see him again in action at some point, maybe in YGO 10 or any other anniversary project where Ryo returns with new Cyber Dragon support.
Wouldve been amazing after the whole tournament ARC the Lancers go to the fusion dimension and had to retreat to the Synchro dimension cause they all got bodied by He'll Kaiser
I believe he was a spy for the XYZ dimension and was found out by the chancellor and he sent Yuri. I guess after multiple turns, Zane pulled out ChimeraTech OverDragon with Power Bond but Yuri activates Super Polymerization to create Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon but instead of attacking for damage, Yuri is aware of the effect of Power Bond and thought it would be funny to see Zane lose because of his own effect (Or just have Yuri do that to Zane without the effect and just use poly instead of Power Bond) and he gets sealed in a card but the chancellor tells Yuri to not say anything because he wants the duelist to thrive off the idea Zane represented for the Academy instead of what he actually was.
So my crackpot theory is that Zane lost to Kite and got carded or died of heart complications. My other theory is that since the dimension split altered the timelines, Zane may have been born sooner in the fusion dimension. This would explain why 5ds and GX seem to be happening around the same time in arc v and why there's a kid in the fusion dimension who looks like he could be Yuma's son
my theory is he turned rogue. cyber dragons have xyz so he could've learned their ways. they also could've thrown mai in this stuff too because she played xyz.
Actually it would make sense I think the proof is in the cyber dragon support that came out of left field, this was before vrains ended so legacy support wasn't common without motive, usually you needed a manga or anime to drop it. And as we know arc-V has some massive issues behind the scenes thanks to witness testimony
Think about it Zane vs Kite the only two characters to fight the main characters multiple times and never lose. Heck the only time either of them did lose was when they had to save a loved one I think.
Seeing this now and then having them introduce BB instead of Ryo really ticks me off. It would have been so awesome to see the Cybers instead of the Gladiator Beasts.
I just hope if Zane appears again someday, he can have a combination of blue,black and white on his clothes. Like his duel academy uniform but combining those three colors to represent his change and acceptance of his past as hell Kaiser.

If zane were to be in Arc-v i got a theory what would hawe happend: If zane were to be sent out in the xyz dimension i feel that he would be the most responsible to bring the xyz dimension to absolute ruin until there only remains a pile of bodies (fallen xyz dimension duelist) as result of sending someone like hell kaiser Or If the lancers were to attack duel academy after the fusion dimension did a small invasion on standart i can only see reiji and shun possibly survive cause the rest will get bodied by zane
Ngl, I was really hoping Chazz (Jun Manjome) would appear in the fusion dimension as one of the resistance leaders/Obelisk Force. I'd love to hear him yell out "Chazz It Up" when dueling. I can already see him play Ojama cards and being a complete threat locking down opponent's fields. And I think it'd about time Armed dragon gets more support/new cards
Could you imagine the final duel between zarc and the dimensions zarc beat everyone including Riley as he’s about to blow up the earth a giant beam of light appears and you see the previous 4 protagonists their respective Dimensions introduces them to the other dimensions no one says a word they just come out with their ace monsters and just defeat zarc but when they wake up in the pendulum dimension no one remembers what happened all they know is that they beat zarc but they don’t remember who beat him
if he was, he would be crazy good and one of the leaders of Fusion, but may have lost, and through his loss he could've have learned XYZ summoning to get Nova and Infinity.
Would've been cool if Zane was the commander leading the charge in Xyz Dimension and perhaps give him a duel with Kite with his new Xyz support and maybe add Synchro Cybers in there since Zane entire character is about growth and respecting his opponents. Barrett could've been Arc-V Zanes teacher in the Cyber Style of dueling (since he uses machine type monsters and his ace is a cyborg version of Panther Warrior) since we know in GX in the OG timeline there's a Dojo that teaches duelists how to use the Cyber Archetype and Zane trained there before and obtained the Cyberdarks there. Like maybe Zane dueled Kaito and lost, because of that he adds Arc-V counterparts of the Cyberdarks to his deck + adds Xyz and Synchro in his arsenal and becomes a monster, aka Hell Kaiser.
Zane Truesdale was my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! GX character i didnt care as much for the rest but Zane i mean i liked Alexis Rhodes to but Zane was the best character from GX imo and I don't think Zane is dead because he might have given Syrus his Cyber Dragon cards and said he will make a new deck me believing it will be mecha phantom beasts but all in all he will always be number one to me from GX
I was under the impression that Marufuji Ryo (Arc-V) was just a different version of Marufuji Ryo (GX) and has no connection to Marufuji Ryo from Yuugiou Duel Monsters GX basically like how Tenjoin Asuka, Edo Phoenix, Jack Atlas and Crow Hogan are not the exact same characters from their respective series.

@@mystery8820 the cyber darks were forbidden because they draw the vital energy of the user But they promise great power in return Syrus severed the effects when he inherited the cyber darks That's why the cards were lock in a temple Not because of it's raw power but due to the side effects
It would’ve been better to see him The fact that Cyber Dragon got 2 Xyz Monsters I’m this era in the TCG as well We could’ve seen him say something along the lines of “imma use your techniques against you” and Xyz summon Cyber Dragon Nova on some plebs
It maybe unpopular opinion but I feel like Zane should've replace Aster role in XYZ dimension. Something like Zane first appeared as he sided with XYZ dimension by summoning cyber dragon XYZ monsters, which long time fans would be confused and know something is wrong because we all know he is Fusion duelist, maybe sometime over, Syrus got hold hostage and he had to fight the mc. Would say he be a spy but Dennis already done that.
I think kite carded him if you really think about it kite, shay, and yuto would really be the only 3 capable of beating him and their is no way kite would pass up the chance of taking down someone who's carded many xyz people so he did
Actually I wished he would be replaced with aster, I mean his character fit the storyline much more , but I can understand stand that they couldn't accept the idea of Kaiser being defeated or humiliated like how aster ended up
He dies in the GX anime, so maybe that event still happened, just without Jaden and in the fusion dimension, killing Zane, labeling him the hero of the school.
To the dismay of the fans there is zero chance he was ever going to make an appearance unless time travel of some ressurection stuff as he died of a stress induced heart attack as a result of the electroshock underground dueling he became addicted to. Sadly he died in hos duel with Johan(jesse) . Boy that be one hard conversation to have with mom. Big bros dead from card games
Bro was literally in a wheelchair after his duel with Yubel (possessing Jesse). Got up to duel once and had a heart attack…against Sho. Ain’t no way he survived and continued dueling.
Well we follow yuya's journey So it is plausible that he is alive We don't really get any direct answers If Arc V gets a reprise by a new protagonist Or even by yuya We would get more info
I thought Zane truesdale did die during the GX series I remember him having heart problem from all his underground dueling I could be wrong but I thought I did perish
The arc v like has the potential to . But they rush it . 5 years cycles ruin it . If they add the Mc like Yusei Jaden Yugi and atem Seto I think the story will like 10 years span
Umm They did touch on it right there on the board in that episode what more do you want? An entire filler episode devoted to what exactly? Of how he became a legendary duelist and it is somehow still alive or not alive or what they mentioned him they put it in there as a nod to GX just let it be because they have nods to each of the series pretty much
What if this is the reason why aster pheonix is the main boss of the fusion squard. And zane didnt want to be under control of leo so leo uses Aster to defeat and turned him into card, and thats how Aster got the title by beating zane who would technically be the strongest duelist of fusion dimension.
