I purchased this guitar several months ago and I was pleased with the full sound the instrument produced. I had a 1970's era Sho-Bud which, I regrettably sold many years ago and, spent many years and several brand guitars trying to re-produce that Sho-Bud sound. After some research I found the Jackson "Maverick" had the same sound as the Sho-Bud. After all these years they didn't change the pickup that created that sound. Thank you for that.
I bought one of these a year ago. It’s my first pedal steel so I have nothing to compare it to. This is just confirming that I have a long way to go before this guitar would ever hold me back!
Bought my sho bud maverick new in 1973 directly from Shot, and Buddy Emmons they signed it for me, it was a great instrument, even though I have sho bud sho ll , this maverick still plays awesome, Zane this an great session this Maverick sound great thank you good job
The Maverick Pedal Steel by Jackson is unbelievable in it's responsive ability, amazing tone quality. It has character and an attitude all by itself. I appreciate Zane King for a wonderful demonstration of this remarkable instrument. John E Wobma INDEPENDENT PROMOTION SERVICES LLC Wayland MI
Zane I have a question for you where did you get that color I would love to have one in that color I know they want to make it in Black but how did you get that beautiful brown color they have a beautiful sound Jackson Maverick built by the best the Jackson guitar company
I'm drooling over that Maverick Pedal Steel Guitar! Beautiful tone. The guy playing is no slouch obviously!! He would probably make my old MSA PSG sound great as well.
Zane, I just received my new Maverick HD about two weeks ago. The pick up seems extremely close to the strings. You can barely get a single quarter under the strings above the magnets. Is there anyway to adjust this pick up? I sent a question to Dawn but have not received a reply. The tone is extremely bright on both my Delux Reverb and Twin Reverb. Hoping lowering the pickup will help.
hello with day! I love 10 string steel guitar. My son lives in Vhesapeake Virginia, she will come to Brazil at the end of July, how can I buy a 10-string steel guitar and have her bring it to me?
Zane, is it possible to get that same "drop" that you do when you play "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain"? (the first verse, in the lower register). It sounds quite amazing. Of course you play very well. I'm quite tempted to get one, I play guitar and I understand the pedal steel to a point, cause I do a lot of what the a + b pedals do, like for ages it seems. Thank you for your time. (this is my wife's account, btw).
