Zantedeschia aethiopica - Calla Lily care 

Hi🙂. When the flowers are finished and just starting to shrivel, I'd cut the whole stem off down to about 3-5"inches from the ground👍.

Thank you Maria🙂! Do you mean the flower is wilting? When the flower is finished blooming, I'd cut the whole flower stem down to just 3 to 5 inches above the soil👍🙂. It will direct the plant to put its energy into the existing flowers and rhizome. If your summers are really hot, make sure to water it; this plant has been known to go summer dormant where it's really hot and dry, too sprout again in the fall, but regular water will keep it going through the summer 👍🙂🌿.

Hi Jenny, if you just got it, it’ll just need some time to establish in the landscape. Is it in a pot? Indoors/outdoors? If you’re here in California where it gets really hot, make sure it’s on irrigation or that you water it regularly to get it established. Sometimes in hot locations, this plant can go summer dormant, but with irrigation they can stay nice and pretty through the summer. It can be grown in a pot, but I find them to do best in the ground. Also, they should be outdoors👍. Full sun if you live on the coast, if you live more inland, plants in sun to part sun ☀️.

Ty, for responding. It’s outdoors and I recently planted less than 2 months ago. I’m also in NC. I’ve been watering 2-3 times a week.

The plant infront of the Calla lily is an iris; it's either 'Penny Lane' or 'Jennifer Rebecca'. I think it's 'Penny Lane' if I remember correct🙂. If you have an iris, it should bloom soon👍🌿. Infront of the iris is the Lilypad Aeonium🌿.
