I'm watching this today (9/8/22) and this video was taken 11 yrs ago. We will see that all successful people always start at the beginning, all the hard word will payoff when you see that you are growing. This guy is such a motivation, may we all don't stop achieving our goals. Lets not rush our time we all have different time to shine.
I appreciate it. Interaction (and food plays a big part in that) is the best way to learn about another culture, which is my passion! Thanks for the support and for watching!
I visited Mombasa and Zanzibar recently. II was my first visit to Zanizibar. AlthoughI was there only for a day, I really enjoyed my visit. I used to live in Mombasa in 1961. I has changed; tourist sites for the better. People were ver friendly. I will return again one day. Brij Sood M.D. Calgary, Canada
Hey Amanda, great to hear you're moving to Tanzania soon. Many Tanzanians are extremely kind and hospitable, and when asking if I can film, many start to comb their hair or try to quickly make themselves look their best - even though say "no problem." That being said, I always respect someone if they don't want to be filmed... (continued)
Some of the beast beaches in the world ! I've been there last year !! Visited Zanzibar and Dar Es Salaam. AFRICA is the most beautiful continent despite poverty and trust me i've been in all !
Great to hear you'll be visiting Zanzibar. You know since I travel quite frequently to Africa, I didn't really need anything new, but I did have to renew my yellow fever vaccine, also it's recommended to take a malaria profilaxis. Make sure you check out some official suggestions from the department of health. Thanks for watching!
The seafood must be exceptionally fresh, there in Zanzibar. Will try to go fishing while visiting this beautiful island. Nothing better than fishing and enjoying your fresh catch
I like this guys attitude. he doesnt act stuck up and the fact that he interacts with the locals and doesnt have that negative attitude about Africans is commendable. he deserves respect
The progress you're making in video production is day and night...it's so fun watching the pre-professional days...your fidelity is unwavering...fantabulous...p.s. Love seeing Micha and Ying in the vids.
Cool to hear that Mark. If you take the local transportation it's not expensive to get around in Zanzibar. You can find accommodation for about 10 - 20 USD around the island and in Stone Town. Tours, I'm not really sure, but there are a lot of agencies in Stone Town, so just have a look around. Hope you have a great time!
I've just found these older videos you've done. I LOVE the man bun, the more relaxed attitude, and the less pronounced enunciation. Stay cool, my friend.
Hey, thanks for sharing, pilau/palau is really a fantastic dish that's a part of so many cultures. I think it originated somewhere in the Middle East and with the trade it's a big part of East African coastal cuisine now. Would love to try the Afghan version too!
@976aguilera Thanks so much for checking out this video! Zanzibar is a beautiful island with a great selection of food. The Zanzibari biryani is amazing! Hope you get a chance to visit. I bet Mayotte is a beautiful island too! Thanks for watching.
I thought this channel was just 2 year old even though I watch your videos regularly I thought you are successful in 2 years but I was wrong I had to check your whole channel today and I see that it is more than 8 years old and you have work hard for this and I would like to really appreciate you for this have a great day
you made me realize how much i miss my home,m going there on summer holiday and enjoy the beautiful beach on the east at queen of sheba beach lodge or santa maria coral park, uhaaa! cant wait
Have you done it yet? Have you made enough money to go around the world? If you have, good for you. If you have not, then what are you waiting for? You don't have to be rich you know. Just do it and see what happens.
Excuse me! Mark has posted a beautiful video and shared his experience. If you want to fight over race, religion and anything else, take your battle on the battle fields and let the ones who want to enjoy Mark's journey with him do so. Show some respect!
Thank you very much. Yes, still so many more places in Zanzibar that I would love to visit, and so many thing to eat. You are originally from Zanzibar? Where are you living now?

Mark ...looking super young here...and adorable with the ponytail. So great to see your early videos. You already shine here and your growing professionalism in your craft is clear. Well done all around 👍👍😎 How cool to see!!!
Awwww fetus mark was so cute. And wow! I didn’t know you’ve been making RU-vid videos for that long, you’ve come a long way, you’re much more confident now 😂👍🏻 💗
thank you for the video but we travellers always think that tropical islands are always paradise islands and locals are well off,in fact most of the local people struggles in every day life but they are happy and the kids are always smilling with so little they have,we westerners can learn so much from that
The variety in people--and food too--is amazing! We are interesting here, and Africans are interesting too. Nataka kwenda kwenye Afrika! I will visit...in about 10 to 15 years. There are things I have to do here first.
As a video blogger, I simply have to take a little risk sometimes when filming. Sometimes it's not the safest to carry a video camera, but I go with an attitude that I could get some good footage knowing there's a possibility to get robbed. However, by far most people are extremely kind and I know from experience that African culture really cares about others.
