Most samurai fights ended after the first or second blow. So, such a representation is much closer to reality, although it is an artistic exaggeration.
@@jerryhampton5755 you should do some research not on European or Western Martial Arts and focus on close quarters combat with wakizashis and katanas. The revers grip is a grip used for quick small cuts when you don’t have room to perform actual overhead cuts. It’s not incorrect. Just different. And there IS NO right or wrong way in fights, whatever works works. Thats how wars are won.
@@suddenlydecent8686 um... yeah. if we're talking about draw cuts only. after drawing your sword you should switch to a front facing grip. higher speed, better leverage, more reach, and better edge alignment are all possible with a forward facing grip. you're right in that fights are determined by whatever works in the moment, but some things work far more often. if i'm in a fight and i punch directly away from my opponent, but somehow end up winning, i didn't suddenly make the right move. my move was still wrong, it just miraculously worked somehow. choosing to use moves that work 80% of the time, when you have 90% moves available, is wrong. plain and simple.
The part that struck me every time is the moment when he kills without a word, after slowly closing in. No doubt, no mercy... the time for words or repent, or change idea for his opponents were wasted long ago, now there is only death.
WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE SHOW MERCY TO HIS MORTAL ENEMY? THEY NEVER SHOWED MERCY TO HIM NOR THE INNOCENT GEISHAS! THEY LITERALLY ATTACKED HIM, SO THEREFORE ALL OF ICHI'S KILLING IS PURELY JUST SELF-DEFENSE!
@@trollmcclure1884 This version is a remake done by Takeshi Kitano. The original was done by Shintaro Katsu. Shintaro Katsu was born in a Kabuki-Theater family. They learn traditional Japanese dance from early age and thus know how to use dantien, which is the foundation of all martial arts as you might know. Though Takeshi Kitano is very talented, he started as a comedian. I think his talent lies more in directing a movie or art than acting a traditional samurai battle scene. (Just my personal opinion). Here's a clip. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q8bBkGCmfdo.html
@1:05 Wow 😮 he clean cut the stone in single strike, if anyone can attain that much power & skill, then this person becomes unbelievably Dangerous. But in real, it seems impossible
Well briefs aren't a thing in East Asia back then. So a white undergarment cloth tied on the hips and groin are a usual. Remember sumo wrestlers? Yeah, just like that.
