Here's an updated video deck tech on my favorite commander deck, Zaxara, the Exemplary! Sultai is one of my favorite color combos, despite being a huge fan of black and red. This deck is so much fun! Make huge Hydras, give them keyword abilities and counter and remove any threats with blue and black.

My own is essentially the same BUT i have many (many) copie things in it and all doublers. Im glad to see there is some who loves Zaxara as much as I do. Nice man

Ahjo, Try Fangorn and Nissa (the 5 mana, doubles forest one) and I like Yorvo in this deck but he is one of my all time faves and doesnt fit too much ^^ And I like , sorry its german : Schillernder Aaskäfer and Gallopierender Echsenfrosch in it too. Grüße ^^

exactly :) When Zaxx is protected its OP Lijana See of Mirrors (or so in engl) is a good copie-land for one-time save f.e. Edit: But for many of thet copy-stuff I need that legendary-neglation case in german it names as: Spiegelkasten @@MTGAlpha

I would note that Pemmin's Aura does the exact same thing as Freed From the Real so its basically a copy. Also in the long time I've been playing with this commander, I've found that more interaction X spells is far better than creature X cards like hydras. The only exception to that is don't use many X cost counterspells, as they are too expensive and it feels bad to have to hold up so much mana

Absolutely! I would put it in to make the deck more competitive, but people are already afraid of Zaxara 😁

Definitely a good idea to run something like Serene Sunset to prevent all combat damage from target X creatures this turn or Spore frog for more blanket combat damage protection

Would tribute to the world tree actually work in this deck? Zaxara says the 0/0 is created ‘then’ add X 1/1 counters. So it etbs as a 0/0 and wouldn’t trigger it right?

Hey, Im probably a bit late but what would you recommend to build a more budget version of this? Ive only really about 300 aud to put towards the deck so it would be appreciated if you could recommend a budget version of this or where would I go to find a budget version to upgrade later?

Draw Effects like tribute to the world tree and elemental bond don't work with zaxara unfortunately because the tokens enter as 0/0 creatures as a state based action
