Sometimes i wish our fandom was more supportive about him leaving the band. He just wasn't happy. Like everyone else he also has only one life and needs to spend it the way he wants. He was there for us for 5 years even though he wasn't happy. Now we need to be there for him. If this song is really about his days in the band it kills me that he felt that way, especially because once they called themselves brothers and now they don't even talk (im referring to Zayn's communication with other boys). I still feel so guilty about everything, this fandom was just too young to handle everything right. we didn't give zayn the support he deserved, we didn't give the boys the space they needed to handle it, we all grew up with them so we kinda just...it seemed all so dramatic back then..but now years later, I just wish. things could have been better. still, one direction was a huge part of my growth, i hope you're doing better zayn.

Poor Zayn...he received so much hate for being real and true to himself. Imagine a bird being locked up in a cage, unable to fly freely like it should be. I envisioned Zayn as the bird, being deprived of what he truly likes, unable to share and contribute the things he truly felt passionate about (like his musical ideas that has been rejected while he was in 1d etc). Can't even imagine how much pent-up emotions he needed to keep for himself until he finally exploded. But on a good note, he's finally free now. He can freely express himself through his songs and do the things he truly love, and slaying it, i must say...so proud of him!

At this point I just want the boys to be friends again. Zayn helped create something incredible, but he moved on and I feel like it was just such a huge shock at the time. They were so used to being together that none of them knew how to handle the situation after he left and kept it inside for so long. It breaks my heart when I watch This Is Us and Zayn asks if they'll still be mates after the band eventually splits apart and all of them say for sure. One Direction wasn't just about the music, it was about 5 best friends having fun, touring the world together and being absolute idiots along the way. I hope that one day they can be those boys again, even if they aren't in a band.

yes I miss Zayn being in the band and being a part of the family. But you can’t blame him, you can’t say it was selfish, he wasn’t happy, he was unhealthy pushing himself to the limit and that’s never a good thing no matter the circumstances. A lot of times I think that I’m glad that he left when he did, because if you ever even think that Zayn was a little bit selfish, just remember what could’ve happened if he didn’t leave, just remember what could’ve happened if he kept going. He wouldn’t be with us today if he did.
